  1. This is one of many reasons I left the dealership to drive a truck, if I had the two concerns my WA and SM would only claim one Tsb and I argued until I was blue in the face and got nowhere, now they have no senior master tech at all and no one with diesel certs, life must be tough back with them. They did hire a replacement one of my buddies told me and he had spent over 3 days trying to diag a egr cooler. I just know i am in a better place know.
  2. This is the start of my third week and I don't regret it yet. I know the honeymoon isn't over yet, but the stress is so much lower and I have alot more control of how much I make. Thanks for the support Tony
  3. I'll take you up on that Larry! Hope I never breakdown though but it's nice to know that I still can have some good connections.
  4. I will say one things guys hauling tanker is a tough job going through the hills of tennesse. It ain't like hauling a van trailer, this mother is surgeing back and forth and man are there some dumb people out here that pull out in front of ya! I have had to blown the train horn a few times.
  5. I went to Holly Hills and unloaded and then headed west of Nashville Tn and loaded last night and now on the way to Carey Oh today. Load tommorow in Toledo then down to Fort Recovery Oh to onload and then to Sydney Oh back to Joliet Il to unload then home and that will be late Friday night so I got alot of trucking to do.
  6. I will not be selling my tools. I do love to work on things and fix trucks, I will try to do some side work. If this doesn't work out I still have my certification and expericence. I am leaving tommorow morning for south carolina, so I will see how I like it. I love to drive so it shouldn't be that bad. Thanks for all the support guys!
  7. Thanks for the support guys! This wasn't an easy decesion, I have been at this dealer since I was 17 years old and it was the only thing I knew. I just think it was time for a change.
  8. Thanks Keith! I still want to keep up on what's happening with the ford diesel world and lend a helping hand when I can.
  9. I just quit my job of 15 years at the Dealership. I am tried of the bullshit warranty and constant pushing having to turn more hours. I am going to drive a semi for a friend so I hope I can still be a member Keith? I will still do side work on diesel but I have just had it with the auto industry.
  10. I just read this article about GM delaying the diesel in the 1/2 ton trucks. ]http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090311/ANA02/903109970/1181[/url] automotive news gm delays 4.5l diesel
  11. I wish you the best of luck in all Tony! Start the new year on a good note with a new outlook to life not having to worry about the auto industry. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
  12. It finally took on the blank module program and was fine. Thanks for the help! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
  13. I updated my password before I started. I ended up just blank module programing it. It kept coming up with the message program not ready for download try agian later. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif
  14. I am trying to reprogam a LCF and have been waiting for a program for over a hour. Is NETS getting slower or am I having a problem. Usually when I do a reflash it is pretty quick. The message I keep geeting is "program not ready try agian later". I think maybe the one guy at Ford that send out the reflashes must have called in sick today. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif
  15. I used it on the last egr cooler failure I did. Hotline line instructed me to use 2 qts when flushing the cooling system, that was before the tsb and that really confused me at the time. Parts had to order it a case at a time. It seemed to work good.
  16. We have had Wynns and BG and both seemed about the same no noticable diffence unless the truck had alot of miles on it. We just switch to valvoline flushes, I just did the first diesel flush today on the parts manager's truck. we will see how it does. The one thing I really like about the valvoline flushes is that the will warranty fuel injectors up to I think $4000 if you start you diesel flushes before 36,000miles and do them in 15,000 mile intervals up to 210,000 miles or 8 years, after 36,000 but before 50,000 miles up to $2,000, and before 75,000 miles up to $500. That warranty goes for all of valvoline's flushes. I think that's pretty good. The Rep told us that the flushes contained no solvents unlike Bg and Wynns. Just some food for thought.
  17. Hopefully the interview goes well. As for the stress I don't think it will be any worse than dealing with Ford warranty, bullshit prior approval or dumbass inspectors that second guess us. Thanks for the insight. I will keep you posted as to what becomes of it.
  18. I Have a interview with a indepentent trucking company next week that I have been chatting with back and forth since September about being their fleet tech. I think that they have maybe 10 company drivers and 20 owner/operator's and aproximately 50 trailers and I would oversee all of them. The guy they have know is less than par for their standards. I think that this might be the move I have been waiting for. I have been in the same Ford dealer for 14 years (since highschool) and I am thinking it is time to get out of the dealership scene. Has anyone ever worked at a trucking company?
  19. I will just stick to the green. I do try to check the Ph level when we have the test strips avialble, parts always seems to forget to "reorder them" and I don't keep enough in my toolbox anymore. Thanks for the info.
  20. I know what the charts say about pre 1999 vehicles, but has anyone put gold coolant in where green was? I am just curious, I know that with the green coolant we were suppose to add the vc-8 coolant additive on 7.3l's and the gold did away with having to do that. I was thinking of switching to gold coolant in my 93' 7.3l idi to do away with having to add the vc-8.
  21. That worked like a charm! Thanks a million! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rockon.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
  22. I am installing a short block on a 06 F-550 and have everything swapped over or replaced execpt the oil pump. I am intalling a new oil pump but the bastard won't go in. Am I missing something? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif
  23. Do you keep the same filter on the 40,000 miles or change it at intervals?
