I've been seeing them on the road. 1/2 ton undercarriage and they are UGLY.  Definitely looks like a pickup from the guys that designed the front end on the Juke.

I think wee need to give this segment of the market time. The Chevy, The Nissan and possibly a Ford with a diesel in the 150. If priced better they might become popular but we know what the cost of a diesel and the aftertreatment system can do to the bottom line..

I can't stand diesel fuel, I wouldn't buy one to drive around just for the fact that I don't want to deal with the smelly ass fuel pumps, nozzles, ect. Hell I wont even stop at a pump in my car if it has a diesel handle also, because of all the spilled fuel on the ground and speedy dry and such. I don't want to track that shit into my new car.

Didn't Nissan supply inline six cylinder diesels to International Harvester for production as an option in the Scout for those of you old enough to remember?

Nissan did 3 diesel engines for north america. LD28 found in the early 80's maxima sd33 for international and sd22 for the small pick up they had. all good engine's but you cant get much in the way of parts for them any more.

I have an LD28, it was in my rover for a while. smooth, quiet, reliable and easy to work on if anything did go wrong. unfortunately the crank form that engine is worth more then the car it came out of being used to make stroker motors for the old 240, 260 and 280z cars and the block was basically the same. And there is your useless info for today.. LOL

When I started at the limo company in 1990 they had over 250 diesel powered Buicks.  I learned quickly to loathe 5.7 diesels, then front wheel drive 4.3 V6 diesels with early 440t4 automatics.  The vibration level of that V6 broke every bracket on the motor constantly.   Thankfully they switched to Lincolns and Mercurys with 5.0 engines.

We had a retail shop attached and at the time there were quite a few CD17 diesel Sentras that showed up.  As well as Escort, Rabbit and several Lincoln Mark 7 diesels.

Oh, the nightmares.
