  1. But if you can only thread the cap up that far how did they get it in there in the first place? My guess is the plastic stand pipe didn't get put in when they put it together.
  2. This month's questions are kinda hard. I only got a 75%. I think the a/c compressor question got me.
  3. Great point about the upper oil pan. I never would of thought of that. The motor from the F series had egr cooler and oil cooler replaced within the last year. This was the truck that had the dorman cooler that the ipr valve was packed full of green gasket that I posted on here. I gotta pull the service records tomorrow and see what the cube van had wrong with it.
  4. I had a guy I know call me last night. His boss owns an 05 or 06 F350 and an 04 E350 cube van both with a 6.0 in them. The truck was recently totaled out and the guy didn't have collision insurance on it. They want to know if it's possible to pull the motor out of the F350 and put it in the E350 and make it run. And they want me to do it through my dealership. I highly doubt that my service manger is gonna go for this so I might be trying to tackle this one outside of work. My question is does anyone happen to know what is all different between these 2 vehicles other than the engine harness, oil filter, ficm mounting, glow plug controller mounting, and the secondary fuel filter?
  5. I agree with the plugs. I've seen a couple of these that do the same thing and plugs fixed them. Plus hotline told me these engines are very sensitive to spark plug gap.
  6. I saw that. I tried looking up a few of them and didn't find any for anything I looked up.
  7. My dad has a drum deheader that works really well. But I've never cut a barrel that had extremely flamable stuff in it.
  8. I got a lenovo thinkpad t series. After about 3years it's still going strong. Plus lenovo tech support and warrany are first rate. I called them at 3:30 the day after christmas about one of the other ones in the shop. By 9am the next morning I had a new wireless card in my hand.
  9. Pretty much. It doesn't kick down either once your above 35 mph.
  10. I bought a 71 F100 a few weeks ago. It needs some carb work and some trans gaskets. I took it for a ride this weekend and noticed it shifts into 2nd at about 10 mph and 3rd at about 20 mph. It's got a 302 with a c4 in it. Is the linkage that goes down to the trans from the throttle adjust the shift points, or is it just a kickdown linkage?
  11. Um.... my test one at work is a 100 volt one out of a 90's ride. I've run it in the superduty's that take the 110 and the 120 volt ones and never seen any codes.
  12. It is down right amazing the amount of vibration an incorrectly indexed dp6s clutch will create. And it was only off one hole.
  13. Otherwise if it has been overtightened there is an aftermarket company who makes one that clamps on the outside. The only downside is that you drop the old adapter into the bottom of the oil pan and leave it there till the end of time or the pan comes off.
  14. I got an 11 explorer that has a shudder/vibration on accel at 12 to 22 mph. Goes away if you let off the throttle and doesn't matter what gear it's in. Hotline tells me it's probably the power transfer gear that is in between the differential and the output gear on the trans.
  15. Oh. 2 broken bolts. I don't think anyone here understood that. You don't have an a/c compressor starting to fail do you?
  16. I'm suprised they didn't extend it a day to make up for it.
  17. I got a 6.4 with an engine knock. Loudest out of the bellhousing, but I can't see any evidence of a cracked flexplate.
  18. This is what we had at my previous dealer that worked really nice. http://northerntool.com/products/shop~tools~product_200344413_200344413?hotline=false I don't know what brand it was anymore, but it was similar to this one.
  19. We have a fairly heavy floor jack, but we don't do that much heavy stuff. We had a pneumatic bottle jack at my previous dealer. That was pretty nice.
  20. That wasn't working for me yesterday. That's my home page on my laptop at work.
  21. According to what I heard they do have a backup in a different location, but they are having network issues with it that may or may not have been caused by the fire.
  22. I got the text to my phone for an answered response while out on a test drive. By the time I got back to the shop everything was dead. Of course it's for a brand new Escape with 38 miles on it that they are supposed to deliver this afternoon.
