  1. That's about the mileage that was on the one I just did. I know they ended in the 07 model year, but I was unaware that the classroom class was no longer avalible.
  2. Really? They don't offer them anymore? The biggest issue I've seen is the input shaft bearings (there is a tsb). I just did one a couple months ago and I remember the parts being kinda pricey.
  3. Opened up a rotor box and found a used rotor inside.
  4. A hfcm on a 6.4 will not pump without a filter installed.
  5. Got all the pieces cut for mine. Just gotta spend a little time with the welder.
  6. What's wrong???? Can't find the drain plug????
  7. You need to pull the end cap off the vcm and put that one in there and use the one from there in your laptop.
  8. Did you put yours in the vcm or the laptop. If you only got one then it NEEDS to be in the end of the vcm. I got one of the new ones in "my" vcm only cause one of the other guys in the shop trashed the one he uses with his laptop. But the shop ordered it from rotunda.
  9. Yes they are reusable because they don't strech.
  10. I haven't been in the business that long but is this the norm? Jam the extra workload on the existing employees while the position remains unfilled? Pretty much.
  11. I don't think it's just the 6.7's that this is happening to. I know of a few 6.4's that got band aided together and dumped off.
  12. I don't know that I've ever heard of an alternator ripple messing with all 4 cylinders on one bank and only one bank. However anything is possible in therory. If you want to rule out the alternator as an issue then I would pop the belt off and retest. What does it sound like when it's cranking? What does both relative and manual compression show?
  13. Amazing how bad those o-rings bite in ain't it?
  14. That's cause the low tires are acting as shock asorbers and compensating for the wear. I did have a bad tire (shifted belt) that would cause some pretty severe steering wheel oscillation after certain bumps in the road on my old 97 F350. But it never shook any other time.
  15. I got an 08 F550 with metal in the fuel system on a 5000 mile complete assembly reman. Service manager doesn't really wanna warranty it cause it's got off road fuel in it. I didn't find any evidence of water yet. But I don't have the hpfp out yet. Off road fuel these days is nothing more than regular ULSD with dye in it. Off road fuel has been ULSD for many years now and has no effect on an on road vehicle. I have heard that before. But he's worried that if we send the pump back for warranty they will kick it and charge it back.
  16. At least compressors are easy. I got an 08 F550 with metal in the fuel system on a 5000 mile complete assembly reman. Service manager doesn't really wanna warranty it cause it's got off road fuel in it. I didn't find any evidence of water yet. But I don't have the hpfp out yet.
  17. You could still grab the power off of the bjb for the illumination. You could also add a low pressure switch if you really wanted to. I'm sure there is something avalible that would work. Do they still have that extra wire under the dash that's hot key on? Or did they do away with that?
  18. The set of air bag compressors I installed I grabbed power for the compressor out of an unused terminal in the bjb. There is one that is powered anytime the vehicle is awake. I'm not sure what relay it runs through but it worked. I may have had a relay in there too, but I don't remember for sure. But on the Air-lift system the gauge is automatically back lit any time the system has power.
  19. There is actually a warning in the workshop manual about silicone spray contaminating the nox sensors.
  20. I got the pleasure of replacing a dpf harness on a 2017 F550 dump truck. Wouldn't have been so bad except they ran the cables for the electric dump through the same hole right next to the #2 body mount.
