I bought the fitting the book says to use and one of those large plastic suction guns. The first one I did the shop bought a brand new metal suction gun from napa and the third or fourth time I filled it I got sprayed with fuel.

I have the transmission input seal leaking on my 06 Fusion. The only place I can find anything about replacing it in the workshop manual is under disassembly and reassembly of the trans case. And it looks like the seal has to be removed and installed from the inside of the case.
Anyone have one apart that can verify this for me?
Thanks
There is that recall for high pressure pump failure. I did one that got a complete fuel system. That would get you a great start on the parts list.
Unfortunately I don’t remember the recall off the top of my head.
Never heard of them. But I’ve never heard of pulling the body on an e-series. I’ve always just slid them out the front. And I just grab them from the top since we don’t have the lifting brackets.
The metal in the fuel system is more than likely what caused to injector to fail in that way. And I know from previous experiances that if you replace only the one injector it will be back with other misfires.
I agree. Metal in the cooler is enough to condem the system. I usually pull the cooler off, cap the coolant ports tightly and then dump the cooler into a clean black container when I wanna have a look for metal.
We program them in for one of the local transmission shops all the time. Most of them will drive enough for them to get them over to us.
Plus I've driven one or two that I've forgotten to program the new body into until I was a few miles away from the shop. The worst thing I had was a harsh shift once it was hot.
Figures every time I open my mouth without looking around first someone has to prove me wrong. I guess they do make a couple that run off of a IDE cable. However I know nothing about putting an ssd drive into something that old. However I do know that the 2.5" IDE drives use a different connector than the 3.5" and the 5.25" IDE drives do.

I've been busy enough recently that I still haven't gotten around to cleaning up the basement. So yes I still have them. PM me what you are looking for and I'll see what I have. I had 3 full units sitting here at one point before I destroyed them.
I thought that too. Then this rolled in this morning with the guy from the local sheriff department in it. He claims it weighs 19700 lbs as it sits. Which sucks cause there is no way in heck we are ever gonna pick it up for ANYTHING.
Do you mean the intake spyder that is mounted to the front of the turbo? There is an intake air heater in there that is run off of the relay that is next to the glow plug relay.
I call bull shit on that. I had one that I found small metal in the rail the second time it came in with an injector stuck wide open. After I checked at the vcv and pcv for debris.
