  1. Well if the customer has the bill in hand, and you have the proof in yours. I would say the next call would be to the BBB.
  2. Not to bad with what you have stated either... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif But please not so "Grampy Jim" next time.
  3. Very well spoken Keith, I applaud you /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif
  4. U of M GO BLUE!!! By the way my dogs name is BLUE. My wifes name is Patty and from Youngstown Ohio, Sorry for her!!!
  5. Only if you hang around youngsters, If you do what we all do you feel better already. This forum makes us all feel good about ourselves. Unless you let Grampy Jim make you feel to young... Me myself I have my 2 bosses and about 2-3 guys in the back older than me. I feel great and and full of piss and vinegar. I see that you are from Ohio, where are you at?
  6. Bruce first and foremost get him into 15W40 and stay there!!! Second have them run the trucks with a load, Don't kill them a second time, before there time!!! Bruce just off hand what did he pay for the o/haul parts? P/M me if it feels better to do that. By the way I'm still up to going there to oversee the maint. of the trucks.... Bruce need a vaca. anytime soon?
  7. But keep in mind that the public can see what we post.
  8. Jeff,Don't change them yet. This one almost smells like a IDM(FICM) have you tried swapping it out with a known good one(not off of the parts shelf)from a running truck? Also have you checked the p/m's on this truck? How old is the oil or is it low that you might run a low pressure? You stated that it has run out of fuel...H/P pump or ICP? You have run the fuel pressure and it looks good, I think it's something else...Branch tube??? Or the gammut of updated parts for the 6.0's.
  9. If there is a question of legal or not I would insist you p/m each other but you could add people to the p/m list, I for one would be interested in the way this is done. But do it with the p/m.
  10. Keith we did see some of the trans harness issues with the F650-F750's. We also seen connector issues at the trans with the backup lamp switch.
  11. I see what your saying, but the option is out there and the rebuilds actually go pretty decent. I find that the guy's that buy these kits are more of the fleet techs that do their own work and are cost restrained by the owners/management. The way the economy is going I'm seeing more and more of this type of work happening.
  12. Actually if you get a chance check it out, it comes with... Pistons, rings Gaskets, Bearings, rod, main Geroter gears, Lube cooler, Inj. o'rings and seals And Glow plugs. Page 46 of the 07-08 Powerstroke diesel ref man. The best thing about it is the OE Ford overhaul has more in it and actually costs about $200.00 less than the a/m kits that I can also get. I'm able to sell the OE for about $990.00 That's a hell of a price difference compared to the long blocks or the drop ins.
  13. Kyle be careful, I'm 40+ and not a spring chicken anymore, but also not as old as Grampy Jim. I guess you could call me tweener. Don't get me wrong I think some of the stuff you come up with is awesome.
  14. Holy Shit doesn't even come close for that...
  15. Ahh MSDS sheets... I think this would be a good time to let everyone know that OSHA,MIOSHA or whatever gov. system is in place in your local area requires that all companies have these and are up to date on them. This may be a good time to find out who is responsible for the upkeep on them and make sure that they are up to date. These documents are for all of our safety in the workplace. I have been the one responsible at Cummins, And Motor City Ford, Glad you showed us this one because I now have to find out who is at my new work. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif

He needs some help /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rockon.gif
  17. So what was the outcome of his findings? Lack of lube, washed down cylinders or what? Glad he got it fixed /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  18. Quote: Now if you really want to get geeky type Kyle are you really the GEEKY type or just really friggin smart?
  19. I now feel the frustration that some of you guys have with your parts dept.'s lack of knowledge or motivation to sell parts. I just called my old dealer MCF to get a price on a 99 7.3 overhaul kit, just to get the old answer of Ford doesn't make one. I'm glad I have the 2007-2008 diesel reference cat. online, It felt really good to come back to them with a part # for it. What's even better is when they ask me where I got the # from. I guess I'm not such a bad parts guy afterall. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
  20. Alright Jim what did I fudge up, I don't see it???? Always proof read your post to be sure left something out.
  21. Bruce any update on this one??? Would like to help more if possible!!!!
  22. Jim I will jump in here as always a little long winded /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/popcorn.gif But we enjoy it anyways!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif Lets start with the almighty LOF... LOSER for parts. Sold at cost or cost plus...not alot...And labor/labour sucks we all lose!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smhair.gif This service is and always has been a lost leader just to get the trucks in our shops... Who do they give these to if there is not a problem with the trucks(mind you not always) the hourly grease monkey that they hired to get them in the door. Does he know what to look for to upsell the services that need to be done, or just do the pm and out the door the customers goes with,.. oh lets say a pinion seal leak, or a axle seal or whatever else we all would look for on these trucks??? Now mind you we all talk about the problems that we encounter everyday, but what about the "oil change specials" that every dealer advertises just to get them in the door. I know that they also want the customer to migrate up to the sales floor to try to get another sale but most don't buy. Sorry got off track a little, my point is that all of us that work our asses off to get the job done don't always see the fruits of our labor/labour, some do appreciate it but most don't. It takes alot of knowledge whether it be learned or found because we asked questions still takes time and effort, Effort we don't have to, but do because we all have a common goal... FIX THE DAM TRUCK !!!! My biggest bitch with most of the dealers I have worked in, Is that parts can discount all the way down to cost. The service advisors or Service monger don't discount that deep...Don't get me wrong but we have labor/labour rates @ $90.00 a hourish, I know that you guys don't make anywhere close to that so why doesn't service discount to the parts level? Why should parts have to take in the ass all the time? The advisors or Managers may cut your time(which isn't right and sucks you guys are the ones /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gifbeating your friggin heads against the walls) but I'll bet they aren't cutting back on the rate, any takers??? I'm sorry if I offended anyone here but check out whats going on in your shop and see... I believe in menu pricing to a point but come on now, If was that easy we wouldn't be here doing what we do with each other trying to get info out to make things a little easier on all of us, lets face it if it wasn't for Keith (by the way change your avatar)starting this site we wouldn't be here today!!! Just my 2 cents /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif This is scary I just felt like Jim /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif By the LEW good luck on the interview!!!
  23. Quote: Looks like I'm about to jump back in the dealership...interview Monday! ARE YOU FRIGGIN CRAZY!!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boink3.gif
