  1. i removed the pump earlier in the process no problems found with it plastic was intact and seemed ok because i had one before with it busted and some guys reccommended it here but i wasen't so lucky with this one
  2. thanks for the info i will check those tools out bruce i've got so many trucks down now.it's about to drive me crazy but the tools look good and i'll talk to the sm monday and let you guys know how it goes
  3. anyone have the info on a 2001 7.3 injector cup removal tools.i have been unable to find the tool kit at work and will have to order them but cannot find what all i need in the online manual. i have one putting fuel into the coolant on number 8 cylinder cup and i have never pulled any before.do i need to pull the head or is engine removal needed and what tools do i need thanks in advance for any help
  4. have a 05 f550 came in blowing white smoke and degas overflow replaced egr and oil cooler no help replaced head gaskets heads checked ok for flatness still squealing from degas bottle, no overheating but building alot of pressure in jug(enough to blow your hand off of degas bottle in 10 seconds or so) even at idle.anyone ever see a cracked head cause this or have any ideas thanks after gaskets on heads white smoke stopped
  5. it worked using ids after putting in the tear tag info and looking through a list a mile long of mavricks,fairlanes and other old model car names to choose from anyway i chose all others and put in the tear tag above and it reflashed the pcm and it worked thanks!!!

  7. have a 94.5 powerstroke with eec 4 on it and a eec 5 connector but it won't work the eec 4 works but no data selection is there anybody that remembers how to make the eec 5 port work for pid data it's stalling at times and i would like to see some pid data thanks
  8. tony302600, i think i had the exact same problem you had well at least i learned the hard way to look for it occuring It was the first one ive seen but with it being a ambulance the idle and underhood temps stay high and may have made the issue appear earlier but keep a eye open for it guys but 28000 miles or so was all it had on it
  9. icp sensor fixed it runs alot better also thanks for the info guys guess that was my first 6.0 biased icp sensor on new style
  10. i have a 06 really quiet and icp is as mentioned above going to try a icp and connector and see what happens
  11. ford had said to unplug ficm and remove both v-covers and the h-p oil cover then full feild the ipr and crank the engine over and look for oil leaks going on the fact that the oil pump built 1400 psi of pressure while cranking where the shop air may only be 150 or so.since my problem occured hot they may have thought it might take more pressure to leak.i don't know i'm just learning these things but seems there are alot of crazy problems going on. but anyway several of the guys mentioned the dummy plug in the oil rail and the pass side o-ring was almost half gone.replaced the o-ring and all is good.i have had some trouble with the air leaking alot of places on the 6.0 when the oil gets out of the rails because the oil helps seal the system seems like sometimes it might lead you to look in the wrong direction but cranking the engine over seems to help in between checks. thanks guys for all your help.maybe i can repay the favor on a problem you have someday when i get better on these things still confuses my brain how it even started at all with that much o-ring gone
  12. when i air tested the vehicle it seemed to have air leaks all over the engine after a few min.i was told the oil made the o-rings seal and not to air test by ford.they said to power up the ipr valve,remove ficm,and look for oil leaks but when i air tested it did seem louder on the passenger side so i'm going to pull that rail and inspect the dummy plug that side first thanks for the info guys,it really helps
  13. i removed the oil filter and cranked the engine and the filter housing filled during no start pretty quickly but i haven't had a guage on it
  14. are the o-rings your talking about at the end of the rails with 2 on each side of the wavy new style type oil rail or where the standpipe would be if it was on the other side of the engine or the nipples where the injectors connect to the rail i tried shop air on the system but without the oil it leaked air all over and i couldn't tell but will try to tear it back down tommorow thanks i've never seen one like this before really a headache

Have a 07 f-450 ambulance that starts fine cold but when hot it dosen't build enough icp pressure only building 315 psi ipr ramps up to 85% but still a no start till it cools i replaced the stc fitting kit and o-rings under pump but diddn't help.I tried cranking the engine with the h-p pump cover removed and the v-covers off to see if i could locate a leak diddn't help me find it.i removed both oil rails and cannot see any problems visible but the engine was cold by the time i got it apart.i seen a message on here a while back about a o-ring or seal on the rail leaking but i can't remember what it was.any ideas or help figuring this beast out thanks,kevin
  16. wiring was shorted on tranny crossmember where a tiestrap had been installed where the clip was missing thanks again
  17. had one with a bad cooler that sit in the bay and the exhaust was so full it required several mop runs but the customer ignored the white smoke and starting issues till it was almost out of warranty it smoked forever after the repair .i had cars pulling off the road lol
  18. have a 96 f-350 diesel dually blowing the fuse 10 in the power distribution box . it shows to feed the starter selonoid and a couple of fuses inside.anyone have any ideas,i've been unable to locate it.it just occurs usually after a drive then a short wait then a attempt to restart and the speedometer is inop and it won't spin over thanks for any ideas or things u have seen
  19. i have several customers claiming only to get 12 to 13 mpg is that normal?
  20. check your baro reading on scan tool compared to another vehicle in the shop.if its off i'd look into the maf being dirty also
  21. ipr o-rings were bad looked like they were 100 years old they were eat away like the injector rings do sometimes thanks guys,for the great help i don't see how it started at all

ICP GOES UP TO 2000 PSI AFTER 3 OR 4 SECONDS OF CRANK WENT BACK TO GET ICP VOLTAGE READINGS AND IT STARTED GOING TO LOOK INTO IPR O-RINGS SEE IF THEY ARE OK BASE OIL PRESSURE IS OK I TRIED THAT YESTERDAY BECAUSE OF ANOTHER MEMORY OF ONE A YEAR OR SO BACK THAT THE COVER AND PUMP WAS SCARRED UP ON THANKS GUYS I'LL LET YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT FIXES IT
