  1. i'll try to get a hot icp pressure reading tommorow during concern

Have a 1999 f-450 thats been giving me a fit i had a p0340 cmp circuit code a icp to high of a pressure code can't remember the code number and a p1298 idm code and a electronic feedback signal not recieved code it has happened like 3 or four times on the truck i switched out the idm and cmp sensors with another in stock used vehicle but diddn't help. any ideas i've looked over the connectors and haven't found anything obvious the truck never shuts down while it is running,only after it gets hot after shutdown will it not start back if it sits ten to twenty min thanks for any ideas or things you guys have seen.When it has been towed in it always starts after it cools down
  3. i do all mine in chassis now not to hard i use a torque multiplier for the bolts but all are pretty easy to get except the drivers rear lower which you have to do with a pull bar takes me a little over a day but thats claning,and test driving but i'm old and slow
  4. water pump impeller was spinning on shaft thanks guys for the help all is ok after repair of pump
  5. checked the radiator it is clean,sent it out had it flow tested and it tested ok going to pull pump and check it out next to check for broken shaft/impeller thanks for the ideas
  6. HAVE A 03 6.0 OVERHEATING CHECKED AND FULL OF ANTIFREEZE ENGINE TEMP GOT TO 248 ON ECT PID.FAN CLUTCH SEEMS TO BE PULLING AIR AND FRONT OF CONDENSOR/RADIATOR LOOKS CLEAN. ENGINE IS GETTING TO HOT.REPLACED THERMOSTAT STILL HAPPENING ANY IDEAS,OR THINGS YOU GUYS HAVE SEEN.MUCH WORSE WITH TRAILER HOOKED UP LOADED OR WHEN PULLING HILLS UNLOADED.I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS A HEAD GASKET ISSUE BECAUSE THE PRESSURE STAYS OK IN THE SYSTEM. ANY HELPFUL INFO FROM THE DIESEL EXPERTS,THINGS YOU GUYS HAVE SEEN FIRST OVERHEATER I'VE HAD ON THESE. STILL LEARNING ô§ô,THANKS
  7. got 105 dollers so far but had a 50 spin in the mix ,haven't got any the last two weeks though mostly tsb's and our warranty clerk left so i may be done for awhile while they reveiw the service managers claims turned in but it was fun anyhow
  8. i couldn't see any evidence of head contact but it rapped loud almost like a rod knock during rev but no bearing damage was evident other than mild debris in the bearings i just figured it was piston slap but that was my first 6.0 engine job so guess i'm lucky went through a big mess to get one for it but i learned alot for future use so i guess thats what matters
  9. yea guess a bracket fix while your in there is a good idea just took your quiz thats the hardest i have thought in a long time gave me a headache lol fun though
  10. replaced engine after a ford inspection and about a part wait all is well
  11. i had heard the 03 pumps were trouble and thats why they changed them just trying to avoid future failures thanks
  12. thanks,got the correct pump then repaired big job though not for the faint hearted
  13. never seen a turbo shaft break on one of those but got burnt one time by a stopped up intake at map connection we all get bad about skipping the basics at times thinking to far ahead i guess and end up with a headache
  14. does anyone know when the oil pump (high pressure) changed from the original style like the 2003 6.0 powerstrokes had to the new style like on a 2006 and if a 03 could be modified to accept a new model pump thanks in advance for any help
  15. HAS IT BEEN OVERHEATED?HAD SEVERAL YEARS AGO LEAK COOLANT BETWEEN THE VALVES ,SMALL CRACKS CHECK YOUR HEAD REAL CLOSE ALSO SEEN MORE HEAD GASKETS THAN ANYTHING. PUT IN DYE IN COOLANT ,YANK VALVE COVER AND PLUGS IT MAY SHOW UP WITH THAT MUCH LEAVING. A BOROSCOPE MIGHT ALSO HELP YOU .HOPE THIS HELPS

I HAVE HAD THE ENGINEERS COME OUT ONE TIME AND THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL WITH A EARLY 6.0 WIRING ISSUE BUT I FIND IT HARD TO GET THEM THERE BUT THEY WERE SUPER TECHS WHEN THEY GOT THERE WENT RIGHT TO WORK, NO BS,ALL WAS WELL AFTER THE VISIT AND THE CUSTOMER MET AND WAS VERY GRATEFUL AND RETURNED TO BUY A 06 TRUCK AT THE DEALER
  17. tore engine down only things i see are pistons melted on sides and minimal block scoring but this thing sounded horrible anyone ever have one sound like a rod knock but the main and rod bearings are just lightly damaged no spun bearings what would you guys do do i need to replace the oil pumps stuff like lifters,rockers they have light wear but the only real problem i see is the pistons kinda melted on all but 2 cylinders with number one cylinder the worst could anything else fail on one of these and be a piston knock thanks guys ready to pull my hair out trying to work on this one and 4 more with turbo's egr's ect...thanks in advance

  19. have a turbo adaptor part number international 1827420-c1 does anyone know what year model it fits or what the diffronces are in those adaptors it the adaptor that couples up pipes from manifold to turbo thanks in advance for the help

Have a 03 6.0 had a injector pouring fuel into crankcase drained at least 45 quarts of fuel/oil out of truck anyone built the bottom end of these cost cap is 9900 dollers.Anyone have any help hints on teardown,removal and what might need replacing.the vehicle ran away with customer and when i started it after replacing injector it revved to the moon for 45 seconds or so. It still runs but sounds like a rod bearing bent rod hitting block kinda noise it also has quite a bit of blow by out oil cap.relative compression shows 3 cylinders down 4 percent what do you guys normally replace? the cost cap is HIGH and hotline was no help. Starting tear down tommorow to see but any suggestions,help would be great thanks,kevin
  21. I did one today got 2.15 does anyone know what it should be? Most i do i get around 1 psi so now i am confused i did get one that said 0.00 on a 06 f250 i guess thats a fail it was very sluggish until it got to around 55mph then it ran ok
  22. i tested one monday it also got around 1.05 and it was boosting ok on road
