  1. Why not. Fix the motor up and make out like a bandit.
  2. I just got 2010 6.4 in today, stalled on highway. I checked the oil level and it is high. The engine is locked up so I went to remove the glow plug harness for #8 and oil/fuel just starts flowing out. This thing is full right to the top. Wow!
  3. Do you have to tilt the cab to get the down pipe out that way?
  4. Leon, Did you have a hard time doing the regen. I am trying to do one right now but it will not finish the regen telling me the condition are not right. Did you do a static or dynamic regen.
  5. We have two trucks doing this, are parts system shows that the shocks are back ordered. wtf !
  6. We have a couple of customers that want to know whats going on. We got in touch with are fse and he told us that there would we a interm flash till they get a new sensor out. The date that he told us has now come and gone with no new flash on oaisi, so I don't think this fse know what he is talking about. So ya get as much info as to whats going on with this.
  7. Did you get p0087 as your code. I had two trucks that are on are lot and did not start wen it was very cold. I went thru the pinpoint tests and found nothing so I was thinking the fuel must have gelled. I put the Ford anti gel in the tank and I have not had a problem with them.
  8. Does anyone know when this new cal. is coming out? or have any update info?
  9. Thanks I will try it out, Prior approval wanted the hours. They kicked back the form because of it.
  10. Is there an hour meter in the IC. If so how do you get to it to show the hours.
  11. Sounds like a plan. Send me an E-mail when you know the date and WE will go for a beer and shoot the shit
  12. What day is your course Bruce, I will have to come check out your class.
  13. Flushing the cooling system should be fun (Thats sarcasm). On the up side like you said it should not be that hard to change out unlike the 6.0 or 6.4
  14. Yes, and they don't take much to break off. You have to be careful when changing the air filter so not to hit the washer hose.
  15. A customer at my dealer bought two truck from that area. He brought both turcks in for check engine lights on. When the diag lead to replace the dpf we found both trucks had the dpf and the doc hollowed out. I think at the time it was $3000 for the dpf $1500 for the doc. That's a big pill to swallow. He was not to happy
  16. Our shop used to get the odd retail truck for a ficm but now there are so many aftermarket options out there. I think alliant power sells one that is already programed. I was just on alliant powers web site and the have a link to DTS for checking for air in the fuel. The link is on the second page http://www.alliantpower.com/pdf/APTB-0608-watermark.pdf
  17. I would like ford to put that in the wsm. It would be nice to cut down on the one time use stuff, it will make it easyer to work on
  18. On second look, yap that's half of the block flying thru the air
  19. Its unreal how far the head jumps off the block!
  20. I have a truck setting a cam code during the koer test. I don't know if this thing has an afftermarket flash but it might. I was just woundering if there is any way to tell other then odd codes if it does so I can rule this code out.
  21. Are you 100% sure that they are factory head gaskets? I had one that had hypermax head gaskets in it and they are not mls they are composite. This one was so blown out it would hydro lock if you put coolant into the engine!
  22. There is a new video on this in the service tips tab in the 2008 wsm. The video talks about a manual regen tool that Ford promotes for trucks that can't do a drive cycle. But if your customer does not want to spend the money what can you do. http://www.eepod.com/ It sell for around $575
  23. I Just got parts in. Its next in line just finishing the second 6.4 water damage job right now. There Svb 2010 48n bulletin that gives us a part list of what to replace. I think for some reason this bulletin is only on the Canadian side of Ford.
  24. Replacing all the fuel system parts noted in the wsm is a given. I am just always worried about my cleaning technique. I just want to make sure that what I am doing is going to make the system 100% clean. I have three contamination jobs in a row. Two 6.4 major water damaged and one 6.7 filled and run on gas. One of the 6.4's the got me to use used parts on and it did not even last two weeks before it came back with low icp when cranking. The best part about that one is the used hpp that they sent me the had a damaged vcv connector. I told the insurance company to get another pump, so they got the auto wrecker who supplied the pump to come down and they took both old hpp and the damaged hpp and got the vcv solenoids swapped. I did not have much say in what was going on and was told to install the pump. Nice! This job has gone right down the shiter! Anyway I just hope the 6.7 is as easy to work on as they say because I am sick off lifting cabs on 6.4
