  1. I had one like that,it was an 01 7.3 came in for runs rough,so I start looking at pids and it was like the hole truck jummped,the muffler had blown apart,the guy had just filled it up with gas,I have a cool picture but my computer will not let me upload for some reason

  3. what labor codes can you use on this job? I am using turbo rnr pressure test and .5 mt for hose,just wounder what you guys have been doing
  4. I have never done a bed plate re seal,do you have to take the heads off to do the job? or do you just flip it upside down

I have a f-450 tow truck with a build date of 9-22-2003 and engine ser. 6143766,the customer came in and wanted to replaced right bank of injectors and gave me allaint power injectors part # ap60900 that he got at another store,in the injector box was a massage about what injectors to use and how to tell by using the color of zip tie,the ones in the truck have a white top and a black zip tie,the ones the customer gave me have white zip tie and brown like color top and in there chart they do not have the injector that is in the truck, I called this diesel parts store and I gave them ford part # cn 5020 rm and could not cross the part # for me,has anyone else run into this,I have no idea if I have the right injectors, any input would be appreciated
  9. From now on, whenever I have a shortened rod on a 6.4L and over fueling issues I will always pull the exhaust valves. From what I have seen lately, exhaust valves and seats are something that can be overlooked way to easily on these engines. Mike, did you remove the exhaust valves for inspection? I have see leaking exhaust valves on both 6.4's that I have torn down as well, there is so much that you have to look out for on this engine and if you miss something it will kick your ass down the road

  13. I took the pump out and now that it is out I can clearly see that there is no ball plug in the pump and I hope the ball ended up in the oil pan,have not done to many old style pumps I just did not know what it should look like,anyways now I know
  14. does anyone have a picture of the old style 6.0 pump?,I have one that I think the ball plug came out in the drivers side of the high pressure oil pump,I have had a look at the pump and it does not look like it is there but I was just woulder if anyone had a nice picture of the pump, just want to see how it should look,thanks
  15. I will take a page out of Bruce's book,run some cetane booster to see if it is bad fuel,have you checked crankcase pressure?

I got a change to talk to the customer and he told me that it did not matter if he was towing or not ever 200 kms he would have to add coolant,so I have driven this thing for the last two days and put over 300 kms have not lost any coolant,but everytime he has come back the degas tank was low,I have pressure tested it but my tester leaks,so I will have to try another one and see if it hold,I think I might be chasing a ghost,thanks all for your input

  18. I did that ssm today and I have eot 190 and ect goes from 190 to 188,removed the water pump and inspected for cavitation,looks like new,there is no smoke,I have got the truck hot then park it over night in the shop to see if it leaks well cooling down as well,what could I be over looking

I have a 2008 6.4 that I think will only loose coolant when towning because when I drive it I can never get the level to go down, so first off it came in with a damaged rad,replaced rad and installed tee fitting,customer said it still loosing coolant,replaced both lower rad hoses as there was coolant all around the coupler,tested and replaced horizontal egr cooler.still loosing coolant,so it looks like it is coming out the degas and leaking down the engine harness and making it look like the rad hoses are leaking,what would cause venting in this engine,can bad thermostates do this? the hotline wants me to look at the water pump but if I had cavitation would I not have coolant in the oil? any advice would be appreciated

I had an 2006 E350 with p0606 hard fault and cel was on,all I could find was that the battery ground on the frame was very rusty,clean the ground up and the code went away,I think even if it does not have pats you still have to do a parameter reset,I put I pcm in for an abs problem on e450 w/o pats and I had to do the reset
  21. I think the first year of this truck will have the 5.4 and the next year you can get the 6.2,if you go to the ford site it tells you that the 6.2 is coming in early 2010 trucks as a $3000.00 option
  22. what kind of aftermarket cats are you getting?,we have two on are lot that have been waiting over 6 months, are you just getting universal ones?
