  1. Unfortunately no, it is the only one of that vintage. We have ordered a new idm. We cant program it here so it needs to be towed to IH anyway. It looks exactly like a 6.0 ficm.
  2. Got an 05 466e with egr the keeps blowing the IDM fuse in the battery box. koeo no problem, start it up and 3-4 sec the fuse blows like clock work. Has Codes 534 idm relay voltage (blown fuse) and 525 idm failure circuit "M" only active when the fuse is open circuit. In the recent month it has flagged all 6 injectors with 421-426 low to high side open or shorted to b+ but no related driveability concerns noted with codes being inactive multiple times.. I can run the koeo injector test, they all pass and the fuse is ok. as are all the other koeo tests. Code 525 tells me to just replace the IDM but im hesitant to drop a $1200 IDM for that... What outside of the IDM will cause this fuse to blow only when running like a bad injector ?? I have rulled out shorts from the battery to the IDM.
  3. I have been told that Cummins does a 6.7 drop in to replace that 6.4 when it craps the bed... everything plug and play for $20g Canadian..... I have 3 of these mf7's in school bus's in my care....

It did the temp thing twice again today on the way home but this time i heard the tone for when you tough the controls... It did it twice each time with the touch tone happening first. may have a couple concerns like a defective control panel too...
  5. I am talking with the Manager about it. Sent him vids of it acting up. I will get the vin posted later today or tomo along with a link to the vids.

The gf has a 14 fusion with the touch system in it and has been doing strange things... like at times... no steering wheel controls for anything like radio heat msg center of the left of the dash no wipers except high no turn signals then all of a sudded they all come back. On a separate occasion the heater control dcided it was too warm and went to low twice in one trip. On other occasions the radio fails to work all together requiring restarting the car or on 2 occasions doing a system reset to get it working. What kind of problems are you seeing out there? Is this an isolated problem with her car? we live in Manitoba and right now its cooler but my not be temperature related. Every time i take it back to the dealer it is working fine and they boot it out.
  7. HOLY CRAP!! 220 amps at steady speed and 350 amps @ WOT...... I think a new generation of alternators is needed or a hybrid battery pack to juice that turbo....

There was talk on our last school bus tender of the v10 direct injection propane ford engine being spec'd by one supplier.... while under warranty they claimed that we would be able to take it to ANY ford dealer for repairs... Thankfully it was a $20g option that put them off the tender list... we ended up getting the 6.7 Cummins with SCR in a freightshaker chassis.. so far that combo has been relatively trouble free except a broken SCR supply tube.

  12. Could be my flat rate reading but I didn't notice any comment about being emissions compliant... Military are prob still emission exempt and if used for a repower it would have to go into something that is age exempt depending on state regs maybe?????

  14. I can see a possable concern in the fuel system but not resulting in dropped valves or bearing problems. Now it an injector failed from these additives could cause a melted piston and go from there....

  18. Wind chill has no effect after the fluid or object has reached the meanial air temp. Just because there is a breeze does not make the actual temp any colder. Wind will strip any heat or warmth from an object or fluid it has quicker then cold still air, but it will not make it any colder then the actual air temp. wind chill is a perseption of living, breathing, feeling beings. I would think there are different blends of winter fuel for the different geographic locations and expected temps in those locations. Just fyi it is -35c here this am with the wind it feels like -46c, a fleet of school bus's, no additives no gelling concerns so far this year or recent years past.

  20. So why steal the IDS to steal the truck? i would think finding the key should have been quicker no??? I know the dealer I used to work at the keys are not "locked up" or in a locked office... Smart enought to take the IDS to bypass PATS but not smart enough to know where the keys are kept???? And yes that is a waste of a truck!!!

  22. Alex, In Manitoba we have a new provincial reg from the powers that be requireing shops to give an estimate, require authorization before any work can be done.   24. It sounds like a call to the local department of labor needs to be made. You should be paid for what YOU do, not averaged with other people. What they are doing may be in violation of some laws. just my .02
