Check fuel pressure while driving- running rough, I had one that would do the same but with white smoke... turned out to be injector came loose blew out the o rings and dump fuel into one cyl and get combustion gasses into the rail and run real rough only at times, took 3 hard road tests to duplicate. Fuel press was all over the place as was icp when the concern was present. re do the relative compression or manual compression and see if it bent a rod with the hydrolock..

I saw the international version at Applebee's on Sat night in 4dr 4x4 trim with stacks... there was some of the staff outside looking at this monster and I walked up and said the exact same thing Jim said!!! All the staff looked at it and pissed them selfs!!! and I got a free beer from the server for making her laugh so hard!!! SWEET
  4. And I hope they protect the hood better to keep the paint from pealing due to more heat directly below the hood instead of at the wheel wells!!!
  5. Way to go Aaron!! I just removed the tumbler and used a modified screw driver to try it without the key present and what do you know it started right up!!! Put the tumbler back in and got the rapidly flashing theft light instantly.. I tried several times and each time was the same. so it will go back to the place that installed the remote start for warranty!!! Now some one else can loose their shirt on warranty diag!!
  6. Aaron, I think the easiest way to try that theory is to use a reg non chipped key, with out 2 signals it might work, if it starts then the r.s is the cause... I dont want to disable the only reliable way to start the van at the moment. I was trying to just add 2 keys not delete all then start from scratch but that is an option to try. Jim, I will check ALL the fuses.. The b1602 is always there can't clear it because the theft light will always flash with the key in the run position. b1342 only showed once in cmdtc and u1262 koeo on-demand 3 of the 5 times I ran the test but it has not liked any of the keys in 4 days.. I will be getting into this more on monday if i get my foot out of this cast!!! Cheers

There is no chip glued to the transceiver, it is a disk wired to the remote start module that only operates when the remote start in commanded to start.. otherwise it should start without a chipped key and no more pats to worry about and thus rendering pats totally useless as an anti theft system. Like i said it will only start with the remote start. the theft light comes on solid it cranks and starts then goes out like a properly functioning key would. both keys will go straight to theft light blinking rapidly and will not crank indicating a key not being read correctly or at all... I am going to try and pull the tumbler and place a key on the transceiver and see what happens.. can the transceiver loose it's strength to read the key being further away then the R.S. disk?
  9. This is on the family windstar.. 01 windstar just yesterday the theft light flashes rapidly indicating non programed key/incorrect key for both oem orig keys. It does all the correct things ie. will not start-crank with either key. It will start with the remote start no probs the theft light comes on solid engine cranks and starts light goes out, it has a transmitter glued to the transponder to simulate a chipped key, insert any key and away we go.. I have reprogram the keys "successfully" according to the ids but then the theft light flashes rapidly again right after. scanned all modules and got... U1262 IC SCP communication fault B1342 pats ???? B1602 pats incorrect key code Ran self test on IC and get u1262 pcm P1000 and B1602 incorrect key according to wsm b1342 indicate "replace pcm" no diag needed!! If there was a prob there it shouldn't start with the remote start should it? That is the part that send me for a loop.. I have limited access to the ids to perform the ppt M No communication on scp network where they want you to disconnect each module to see what one is not communicating... I do think it might be a pcm issue as the koeo self test failed a couple times then worked ok.. Any one have any insight or pointers to this concern? Don
  10. I wonder if this is a collaboration or a copy of Mazda's 2.5 direct injected turbo motor in the cx7??? That has been around a couple years already. And that spark plug, I hope it's not like the 5.4 style cant really tell from the pic...
  11. That is what they were doing... cant call it an accident... not supposed to transport a loaded gun in the truck, but it is an insurance claim.
  12. 06 5.4 sd for a bullet hole in the floor and trans. so new trans housing, patch floor and replace carpet....

  15. the new one is not an IH motor.... comes from Europe... not sure if going into f150 still.... some say yes some say no.
  16. Just grab the next ids disk and install it on your lap top!!! I did it and no on cares... Even the dealer primary has said nothing about it seeing me use it in the shop... It is way better then him having to buy another laptop for the shop, no cost no upkeep nothing... I am using a dell vostro 1400 and in all respects but two is better the the panasonic!! No touch screen and not dropable... but I got the extra no question asked warranty, it does not matter what I do to it, it is fixed or replace at no cost, and I have used it!! I also do not use my laptop for any "file sharing" programs like lime wire or kazaa to keep things trouble free.
  17. 02 f350 699000km and just did the first trans. no injectors no turbo nothing... just minor hp oil leaks and reg maint... He hauls the mail and puts on prob 200km a day
  18. The European diesels have been alot higher reving then the light industrial engines we have been familiar with over here. I have an 83 nissan ld28 ohc diesel that is good to just over 4500rpm.. the more refined we can make these engines the higher they will rev and the more power they will make. Small displacement, high reving and quiet is what we have to look forward to if we actually see more of the european engines!
  19. I don't think there is much that will keep the snow out of the filter when they push snow like this... maybe a duct into the cab would keep it clear!!!!
  20. We have the LED type, it is better then nothing but the florescent is way better, more and brighter light.
  21. Well it was a step way back in the instructions to change one of the starter interrupt settings.. I'm still at a loss as why it would only act up cold.. but it is now working correctly... as Jim says go back to the basics and recheck all of the settings and instructions. after reading the instructions the bank programing was spread over several pages in separate areas of the instructions in separate steps. Ford gold system. Why can't they just put all the related info into one chart like they used to??? A bit of info here and another bit there and when u think you are all done then.... "if working on a diesel....." now go back into the programing and change this setting.......
  22. I was thinking that also but the fact that on the second attempt it works and went its warm it works no prob makes me wonder.. what has temp got to do with the alarm?

Ok first off I am not working on this myself but it has me kinda scratching my head... 09 f350 6.4 remote start silver i think, just installed by another tec who is still working on it. put it outside when he was done seemingly working as intended. ONLY when it is cold (below freezing) command a start, it will sit through the glow plug cycle time then with out cranking the horn starts going off withe the marker lights going too... alarm going off... press the unlock and it shuts off, re-command a start and all is normal, no alarm, starts and runs as intended, let it sit a while and we start the alarm cycle again. He has swapped the secure lock deal and made no changes to the way it functions... ( inford had a couple with sim concerns and that fixed them) this only happens when it is cold leave it in the shop and every time it will work just fine..... any ideas??? Don
  24. So has any one made or bought something to use on the 6.4's tail pipes? I am looking for ideas to throw at the local sheet metal fab shop to get something made up.... some pics would be great! Cheers Don
