  1. I wouldn't fuckin let anyone use it either. The last dealership I worked at was really fucking cheap and had an egine stand made up at the local welding shop. I called it the Arm Stretcher or Arm ripper. This thing was just plain dangerous. It was extremely top heavy and it took two big guys to turn the engine over with the stupid fucking bar. I had called over another tech to help me one time that was only about 145 pounds and it lifted him right off the ground before he got thrown off the bar like a catapult.
  2. Yup. That too. It seemed like some of us were concerned about going the extra mile to get oil pressure to the turbo. But like you said, if you oil it, there really shouldn't be an issue.
  3. You could just crank the fuckers over with your fancy Snappy-on Remote Starter buttons while keeping the Ignition switch shutoff. Christ, we used to do this in the ole' days on diesels to prime the oil system after replacing an engine. Man, I think I'm starting to sound like someone else.
  4. Life is all about ASSES!!! You're either covering it, Laughing it off, Kicking it, Kissing it, Busting it, Trying to get a piece of it, Or behaving like one!!!
  5. No, the puller works just fine. Aaran probably just kept turning the ratchet untill the there was so much force on the EGR valve that the housing that the valve sits in just finally exploded from the force. At least that's way I understand it.
  6. Speak for yourself. My ass still hurts after every time I do one and get the ole SLTS royal fucking.
  7. Don't have to pull the heads or the intake. Just flip her upside down and pull the front and rear covers off and then you can get at the bed plate.
  8. I just simply Googled "Douche" looking for something that I thought made as much sense as this IPR screen replacement and there it was.
  9. Fuck Sakes! Can anyone even remember when "Fixed Right First Time" was a goal? I swore like a MOFO when that message came out yesterday morning. You know, they'll come out with some stupid fucking swabbing tool to douche the fuckin things! Here Aaron....I think you'll enjoy this one: http://www.streemmaster.com/women/index.php
  10. No shit that's strange. It's about freakin time. Next thing customers will demand though, is a noodle steamer.
  11. Yeah, but you didn't have to have $100k alone just to warranty diesels. You're stock would have been strictly for retail and that's a whole different ball game. Christ....if you have three engines to warranty, a couple of DPF's, a couple tranny's and a crap load of injectors to warranty, you don't have much room left for anything else in stock. This is a new day and age. It aint 1970 anymore where you could get a drop in engine for $600 or $700 bucks.
  12. Why is it that all dealerships have that target of $100k? It's some sorta fuckin Ford goal? Fuck that's a bunch of bullshit! It was like that at the other two dealerships I worked at here in Alberta as well. If you have a huge diesel clientel, you will not be able to fuckin stock anything else. It's just plain fucking retarded!
  13. I have never undstood wanting to price yourself out of the market either. Especially when there are other dealerships very close.
  14. We have the new tool. And I must say........It's about freekin time they built a good puller! The new puller works great. Nice big beafy hooks or claws on it. You can put alot of force on it now. So far so good!
  15. Thank you Keith. Well said. I was trying to find a way to put it into words like that. Again, Well said. Fixing trucks is "NOT" all "WE" do. "WE" all look like dorks when shit like this is going on. And the dorks need to be straightened out at the top. Because those dorks make "US" look like even bigger dorks. When "WE ON THE FRONT LINES REPORT ALL OF OUR FINDINGS" and then we are told it's warranty after a bunch of fucking heckling with the customer......"WE" look like "REALLY BIG FUCKING DORKS". Especially when "WE" are being paid to do modifications by our "EMPLOYERS". So.....Until These "DORKS" who pay "US" to perform "ALL" of these types of repairs and modifications get their fucking shit together, "WE" will always look like fucking "DORKS:.
  16. Hell yeah! Especially when you work for employers that display brand spanky new trucks on the lot with lift kits, mudders, and all kinds of after market accessories installed on them with that brand spanky new decal still on the left window, Employers that constantly turn a blind eye to after market accessories because "WELL....HE'S ONE OF OUR REALLY GOOD CUSTOMERS", Employers that Warranty the steering gear boxes on trucks with eight inch lift kits, etc, etc, etc. The professional tech that should be paid for his or her foresight, knowledge, and integrity should also expect the same morals from the so called professional employers. How professional do all these types of practices look all across this North American Continent? Customers drive by these places and say.....well looky here....I can buy that cock pump and they're gonna have to warranty it. And don't tell me that waivers deter this attitude.....because they don't. We still warranty the shit out of these things. With shit like that going on........well what can I say...... we will always look like dorks! Professionalism needs to practiced by those who preech it all to often and don't follow through with what they are talking about!
  17. I agree to that statement somewhat. I believe that employers should pay their employees fairly and that employers should respect their employees and not treat them like property. All too often I see employers turn into control freaks. I have a huge problem with that. No-one owns anyone and no employer should ever try to hold an employee at ransom. But employees should respect fair pay and fair treatment as well. And employees should never try to hold their employers at ransom like I see unions do. I used to work for a union years ago and I saw it first hand. Respect needs to go both ways. Anyway, besides all that crap, we're still in the middle of this recession up here and I would say that we will still be in it for at least another year. I hope it gets better soon though. It reminds me of the recession that I starved through in Saskatchewan in the 90's. Man those were shitty times.
  18. I have always found that the Pillar pods are a huge blind spot which is why I opted for the overhead console mount. The other thing that I don't like about pillar pods, is that they are black and it seems to be hard to find interior paint for these things these days. It looks like hell when you have a black pod installed over top of a grey or tan pillar. I tried to get grey interior paint for my truck and it is no longer available through Ford. But the Black overhead console matches all my trim and my steering column.
  19. Your quite welcome. Just some installation tips for ya: I installed the guages into the pod and built my harness on the bench like as if you were doing a remote start. I zip tied the whole harness with small zip ties about every four inches. When you put the Boost gauage into the pod, Leave a loop of plastic tube inside the pod so that the tube doesn't kink. You will have to remove both visors and then the push pins in the front of the head liner. Oh, and obviously the LH pillar cover. Pull the mirror all the way down and then slide the pod into place along the top from the left side. I did not use the velcro strip that came with the pod. I used 3M double sided body taped. I stacked the tape up with four strips. When you see the pod, you will see why......it has a raised lip. The reason I did it this way is because of the fact that I don't really plan on removing in all that much unless I need to replace my windshield. And the first time you remove the Pod I could see the velcro strip ripping right off the windshield. And 3M tape is easy enough to clean off with brake clean. I also put my pyrometer bulb in the exhaust manifold instead of the turbo down pipe. I'm assuming that is most likely the way you will do it.
  20. Yeah no shit, huh? What's that called........Deja vu?
  21. I run the Autometer Phantom guages in my truck with an overhead Console Pod. This one right here: http://www.autometer.com/cat_mountsdetai...dl=59&gw=11 My guages: http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=2683&sid=7 and: http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=2652&sid=7 They both come with green or red bulb covers. I threw the red in the garbage. Boost was approx $52.00 and pyrometer was approx $156.00 with pyrometer bulb. And I don't see the need for a tranny temp guage either. I don't run one in my ZF 6 speed. But I do run synthetic in the transmission. Besides all that, it's not like there is a pan that you can remove on them to drill the sensor insert into and you sure as hell wouldn't want to drill into the case of a ZF and introduce filings into the system.
  22. If I would have received a response like that my words would not have been kind while replying to a response like that.
  23. Keith, up here we are required to contact Hotline before we are allowed to fill out prior approval for engine replacements. However, we usually don't get any prior approval before a complete inspection and determination of engine damage is performed and root cause is found.
