  1. The 6.4 fuel filter updated to an FD-4017 (I think, I may be wrong) and there is now a sealing O-ring on the bottom of the filter that seals the filter to the HFCM. It had something to do with when the filter got restricted enough it would bypass and suck dirty fuel/water through anyway.
  2. Also... wouldn't an easier solution be to just buy a fuel pressure gauge and isolator and screw it onto the test port at the cooler? Or, failing that, an electric switch set to come on at a pre-set pressure, and a warning lamp on the dash? Just kinda thinking out loud here...
  3. I don't think .4 is enough time to physically do it, if you guys drain the water separator like should be done at each service.
  4. Looks like a do-it-yourself persons installed that... Fuck that looks terrible. I especially like the wiring. And the wire (being yellow, likely has power to it), wrapped around the steel fuel line. Beeeeauty.
  5. I think that's part of the reason behind the updated fuel filter parts, is it not?
  6. Retail in Canada on a FICM is over $900 now... Did two at the $600 & change price on a fleet of trucks, now their third truck is in, and the guy is expecting to have the whole job done for the same price...
  7. Yes sir. You win the prize! Golden bicycle with cement wheels!

  9. That's why I wanted to put the factory style aft-axle tank in, if possible. The trailer hitch and bumper chassis I would think should provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, along with the extra frame rail space at the rear. The cab/chassis configuration is available with this style of tank in it, and it doesn't even have a rear bumper. I don't particularly like the in-bed tanks just for the reason of a rollover/accident, as well as the larger aftermarket replacement tanks. I recall one of the directions in one of the tank manufacturers installation kits was to remove the fuel tank stopper bracket installed during the course of a recall!
  10. The hotline told you it's a normal condition, Jim? Or is it a SSM or soemthing floating about somewhere? Thanks!
  11. Webasto is a diesel-fired coolant heater that runs independant of the engine to heat the cooling system when there's no holes available to hook your block heater to.
  12. Yes sir. I've spoke with her on the phone. I can think of a four letter word that most women find very offensive to call her.
  13. Hey, where's my restriction tube part number, ya bastard! LOL
  14. To which you casually reply... Because it is against the law to kill her.
  15. Including a QC550 and drain water separators
  16. We get .5 for diesel, .3 for gas (anything gas, cars, trucks, motorhomes, etc.)
  17. I have a couple customers that are concerned with the fuel capacity on their super duties. Of course, an in-bed tank is an option, yes, but something I'd like to avoid as a suggestion. I also located a company called Titan fuel tanks that builds a replacement tank that goes RIGHT in where the stock tank goes, adds about 20 gallons. I was wondering, could a fellow put a 40-gallon aft-axle tank in a pickup truck, and lose the spare tire/mount or relocate it? Obviously you could put the switchover valve and all that crap in the truck and run all the lines as well, with a switch to indicate tank capacity, which in my opinion I think would be pretty neat. Using all the factory parts. Could it be done, do you guys think? Even if you didn't wire up a switch for the gauge and valve and all that crap and just put a switched fuel pump on the frame to feed the main tank? Any other suggestions, guys?
  18. Bunch of rags soaked in diesel fuel near that turbocharger should fix the problem Could it also be a high-resistance issue in the solenoid itself, only manifesting itself when the heat is present? Kinda like a shitty ignition coil?
  19. Almost quicker than a guy can say "Ah shit, that's hot!"
  20. Yeah, the hole is at LEAST 7/8" in diameter... That shit comes out in a HURRY.
  21. I posted something to that effect on a monkeyhouse board. 'It's tight at first, but once you pull it out and jam it back in a few times, it loosens up. A little lube in this situation goes a long way' Or something like that. It got quite a lot of LOL replies.
  22. But she's pretty pricey compared to a replacement viscous fan clutch.
  23. APPARENTLY you can use this on a 7.3 But it also specs out a 5.4 and a 6.8 as applicable engines, so I doubt it will move enough air. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-272/Application/?prefilter=1
  24. Naw... I can't drink anymore since fucking MORPHINE is now a part of my daily drug regimen... fuck my life.
