  1. Thanks Larry...you don't have a couple of brothers named Darrel do ya? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  2. There is a thermostatically controled switch in the intake that controls it. Follow the top rad hose down to the intake and you will see it almost right against the housing. It's pretty common for them to come unplugged.
  3. If it's a 3.0 they had some valve seat recession problems on those I believe? I would do a real comp test...
  4. If it's a 2-piece shaft make sure it's phased correctly too. If the edge is worn off the locating pilot it will never stay. You might get away with coating the surface with red locite and assembing it?
  5. Replace the sensor and wiring harness pig-tail, clear codes and record PIDS on test drive.
  6. That 9A451 harness is around $500.00 bucks too! What really sucks is when you put all the new parts on and another glow-plug shorts out & kills the new harness. Been ther, done that... I'll NEVER put less than 8 glow plugs in if I have to replace the 9A451 harness...too much risk! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif
  7. AMEN!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif
  8. They paid a guy to SHARPEN those I beleieve? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer2.gif
  9. http://www.atdtools.com/Tools.html I forgot about this deal. They have a distributor 35 miles from me! They have some dist in Flint & Grand Rapids MI if that would help you canuks?
  10. Saw that Ford pays the factory workers better than $64.00 an hour when all benefits are included. No wonder they are going broke!!! What a dealership does as far as pay or amount of employees has NOTHING to do with "the mothership"... Ford couldn't care less if the dealers made it manditory that all techs work for free on all warranty work. We don't work for FORD we work for dealer X...

  13. If it has a strap holding the push rod collapsed release it & fill the slave with fluid before you connect the line. Then when you push the rod in it will allow the air to perk up thru the MC.
  14. The 06E17 flash made serious changes to the stock program. Apparently it isn't compatible with the power programer. Far as I'm concerned, messing with power-adder's on these is like giving your pet monkey a hand-grenade...it's bound to blow eventually! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif
  15. Yep...you don't want to here it though... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif
  16. Sounds like piston or ring damage? The leak-down test would give more info...might just be time to bite the bullet and pull the heads? It's "broke" somewhere! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif
  17. Was the vehicle parked for a long time, like several months? They have had problmes with exhaust valves sticking in the guides and they get intimate with the pistons. Call it "lot rot"... There has also been some problems with roller lifters coming apart. I would pull the oil pan and see what is found lurking in it... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif
  18. Just curious what trying to unstick a turbo pays? At what point do I start paying for fixing the vehicle? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif
  19. AMEN! Get out while you can...
  20. I think the extension is only on the powertrain.
  21. I pull the motor. It's almost impossible to get the oil to stop dripping with the engine in the truck...as much trouble as it is to get the pan off due to the "glue" they use, I sure wouldn't want to do one for warranty time after it leaked on my first attempt... But maybe you got it figured-out?
