  2. I am looking for injector and valve cover torque specs for a 2001 dt466e. This is in a international 4700 truck. Any help is greatly appreicated! Thanks Jim
  3. Maybe a egr valve recall coming? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif My parts manager showed me this today as I was asking for a egr valve. May 14, 2008 To: All Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealers, Service Managers, Parts Managers Subject: Stop Sale and Shipping Instructions for Select 6.0L EGR Valves IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUESTED – STOP SALE on 4C3Z-9F452-A and 5C3Z- 9F452-AA A manufacturing concern has been found in 6.0L EGR valve part numbers 4C3Z-9F452-A and 5C3Z- 9F452-AA. A design change has been initiated to correct the issue. Use of parts manufactured prior to this change could reduce customer satisfaction. HOW TO IDENTIFY PARTS TO BE RETURNED Isolate and quarantine all stock of part numbers 4C3Z-9F452-A and 5C3Z- 9F452-AA with package label date codes prior to 04/08/08. Resume selling parts with a package date code of 04/08/08 and later. See Attachment 1 for picture of label and date location. NOTE: With no part number change, dealers have requested an additional way to ensure the part is the latest design. All valves with the new design have a silver paint dot on top of the valve, in addition to a pink dot. Old style valves will only have pink dots. See Attachment 2 picture for silver dot location. HOW TO RETURN PARTS DATED PRIOR TO 04/08/08 If purchased from a Motorcraft Warehouse Distributor (WD) Return suspect inventory to the selling WD so a claim can be filed. The WD will exchange the part for you. Returns to your WD should be completed by 6/15/08. If purchased direct from Ford File a PCS claim by 06/30/08, using the instructions below: Create claim through the DOESII system. Wait for part return authorization before returning part(s). Once return authorization is issued, return part to specified location. Include your claim numbers on the bill of lading or in the reference field for all claims being returned. It is extremely important to notate the claim numbers because we will be issuing credit for the claim(s) upon receipt of the freight bill. This will eliminate the need to fax in Proof of Return for supplier returns, unless you receive an aging notice. Please include the following information on all claims: Comments: "08-064 Return Reason Code: CD SMALL PACKAGE SHIPMENTS Use FedEX Ground for shipments (single carton or multiple cartons) up to 100 lbs. or less than 108" in length and/or 130" girth (girth is 2 times width plus 2 times height combined). If the size and weight of your shipment exceeds these criteria, use the LTL process. Process for Claims being returned by a Small Package Carrier (FedEx) Contact Federal Express for a pick-up All the claim numbers that are being returned must be included in the reference field Attach a copy of the Return Authorization screen(s) for each claim you are returning to the returned material Include the claim number in the reference field on the freight bill Charge the return to Account #3475-0958-2. QUESTIONS Dan Goering, Diesel Product Manager, 313-594-7289 or dgoering@ford.com For claim issues, go to FMCDealer.com and: Click on the 'Parts and Service' tab Click on 'Parts Department Tools' Click on 'PCS (Parts Claim System)' Click on 'Dealer Claims' and fill out your inquiry and submit For shipping issues, contact SLI at 1-800-222-8403 option 2, and then option 5.
  4. If you have just recently updated NETS I think you might be having the same problem that I had expirenced. What happened to me was that the new update file was named wrong from Ford or Blue-Diamond and that it was the same Nets level as what you already have installed and it will not install. What had to be done was I had to remove all MD_truck software and start from nothing. That is what worked for me. One more thing is that the update on the Master Diag did something with the injector interupt test and you cannot record data. I called hotline and they told me that "it must not be supported anymore" whatever that means. Hope this helps.
  5. Sure but will it pull the Glastron up the boat ramp??????? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif I'm sure the aftermarket will have a programer and exhaust avilable shortly after is comes out. Set it on extreme setting and see how much you can tow. That's what most diesel customer do right? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif
  6. I just read an article in my local newpaper stating that Ford is bringing back eco-friendly Fiesta! I couldn't find the exact article online, but I did find this press release form Ford. http://www.ford.com/about-ford/news-anno...d-fiesta-geneva The artilce I had read said that it has a 1.4l tdi engine capable of 63.5 mpg and 100grams of co2 per kilometer. It is due in North America by 2010. I hope that this will come true. I know I will be in line to get one.
  7. My parts guy told me that the harness I need is a 14406. That is what parts assistance told him. I needed the ecm power feed harness. I am know just waiting on the customer to approve it. The harness is built to vin and is like 800 bucks.
  8. Keith would you have the part # for the ecm power harness that goes from the battery to the connectors by the starter? My parts guys are having trouble finding it and there are no harness tags. Thanks
  9. What you are trying to do is determine if the oil cooler is restricted. if the radkit gauge needle moves that is an indication of a restriction and is to be replaced.
  10. El Paso is 20 miles north of Bloomington/Normal and about 30 east of Peoria. Maybe I missed something on my wiring checks. the evtm for 650's is different from paper to online and hotline doesn't help much. I at least have the break-out-box for these trucks. Hopefully it will be something simple.
  11. I finally got it to shut down on me. I got it back to the shop and checked codes and had p200e agian and p242e this time. The p242e is for egt 13. followed the pinpoint tests and replaced egt 13. test drove-so far so good.
  12. I just had to open my mouth. The same truck just got towed back in for the same concern no crank no pcm communication. I honestly thought it was fixed. they have had it for over a month and have drove almost 1500 miles. Maybe the snow has something to do with it.
  13. I had one in last month same concern, died while driving, then no crank, I chased wires forever and ended up replacing the pcm to fix it.
  14. No he wasn't going 95 mph when merging, he was going 77 mph when merging, that is what was in freeze frame just before the truck shut down. THe overspeed code was set shortly before the overtemp code going by the freeze frame there was a 25 mile difference.
  15. Hotline told me to check and see if there was fuel in the oil-which there was not. check the dpf sensor for any blockage-was clear, andto check egt sesnors for proper operation-which all were ok. I checked to see if there was a later calibration for the pcm but it had the latest. I just think that it was a strange series of events.
  16. I have a 08 6.4l that was towed in that died while driving on interstate. checked codes-po297(overspeed-95.09 mph) and p200e (cat overtemp bank one). I cleared the codes and retested-pass checked oil-ok,checked dpf sensor for blockage-ok, checked egt sensors-all ok. Truck only has 650 miles. I say that it is just a concidence that they were on a on-ramp merging and the truck was going thru a regen. Anyone else seen this code?
  17. I like that Keith, that is a good way to put it.
  18. So am I reading this right? Ford is going to pay for a winter grill cover to the customer if this happens? I find it had to believe that ford is going to give customer this under warranty. Ford just seems so tight lately that they would offer t to the customer a a discount. So how many customers are getting free grill covers in these affected states when they buy a new truck?
  19. I had one towed in a few weeks ago for the same thing. I was doing the diag and found no fuel filters. I asked the service writer if he knew this and he said yeah! the customer thought he would get more fuel. I ended up putting 5 injectors in this truck and new fuel filters. Some people know just enough to be dangerous and make our lives hell.
  20. That's great! I love it!
  21. I wish I had creative adivce for you. All I can say is just focus on your work forget the gossip and let everyone talk, I just ingore all the gossip and don't let it bother me.
  22. I would say something to your manager and explain how you feel without casuing a argument. If he just blows you off then I would talk to the dealer princepal and see what they would say. It would be very bad for the dealer if they had warranty claims reviewed. Just my opinion.
  23. I bought the truck-it is locked up, but the timing belts are not broke. The seller said that it was running when it was parked 13 years ago. I am going to get it pulled out this spring and go threw the whole thing and make it dependable. I will give you a call Larry when I get it apart to have you check out the turbo and injection pump.
  24. Does anyone know if the engine was a interference motor or freewheel? I am unable to find if it is or not. I just want to know so when I look at it and if the timing belt is broke weather it has bent valves or not.
  25. Thank's larry if I buy it I will be sure to give you a call. This engine has a belt drive cam and injection pump. I really don't know that much about these engines, but I am finding more out with everyones help. I am not going to try to start it when I go look at it I am just going to bar it over by hand to see if it is free and check the turbo play.
