  1. Looking to see if anyone has purchased and used the gearwrench torque adapter kit from rttp. Thinking about purchasing one and wondered if its worth the eighty dollars.
  2. I guess I should have worded it a little different. He told me to face them up, unplugged with old lines and to replace the lines when installing inj. Also talked to customer and he cliamed his fuel mileage went up 2 mpgs.
  3. If I'am not mistakin the throttle plate opens when key is turned off. So if I'am correct it would be best to leave the key on instead of turning it off.
  4. I thought I would give an update on what I found. After talking to hotline I checked the maf and exh back pressure. They both checked okay. However, on test drive I found two cyl dropping out under load. I then decided to remove valve covers and check for leaks. I did not find a leak in fuel system. I replaced the two inj, blead system and retested for fuel leaks and passed. I returned to costumer and asked him to bring it back in 1500 miles to check oil. After giving back to costumer I went to a training class and talked to the instructor. He suggested to remove all eight inj and install them facing up, unplugged and crank the eng over and look for fuel leaking.
  5. I had a manger that had to have one with every truck I worked on. I guess it just became habit and in all the years I worked with him the just got filled with the hard copy to collect dust for 30 yrs. Since then new dealer new manger no sheets. Heck my old manger even went to the trouble to print of enough copies to last yrs for each modela nf put them on my box to collect dust and soak up oil.
  6. I know its on the sheet but how many techs just fill it out to get paid and don't perform the tests. Then they will turn around a month or two later and bitch about it coming back for the same concern. Just maybe Fords atempt to constantly throw there sscs or ccss hell I don't even remenber what it is finaly sunk in on finding the causal part.
  7. I had a 350 dump towed in died on road just after different dealer had put 1,5, and 7 in twice within 2000 miles. I got running and found cylinders dropping one at a time till engine stalled. I then preformed balloon test and ballon on left bank blow up while cranking. I replaced left bank inj and fuel pressure regulator. Truck started and ran fine I then took on test drive and found fuel pressured dropped to 15 psi on hard accel. I replaced pump and ran fine. Which leads me wonder how many techs don't realise the importance of fuel pressure and just keep slamming inj. I personal replace the fuel pressure regulator on ever inj job unless I can find records of it being replaced before. After starting to do this I found the amount of inj I replaced dropped by fifty percent.
  8. I had one with two stuck injectors. After replace still ran rough called hotline and was told replace all four on that bank and check exhaust back pressure. After replacing plugged cat truck ran fine.
  9. I have done two in chasis with out pulling heads. Just be careful when removing and intalling hold down bolts.
  10. Truck came in with a complaint of runs rough and regens every fifty miles. I found fuel in oil. I changed the oil and took care of the running rough. I then tried to find the source of leak and found no codes, fuel trims normal, passes power balance and high pressure fuel test. Has any one encountered this and have any suggestions.
