  1. There is one more part required to do this installation. Retainer behind plug in bedside BC3Z-14A163-B It's currently on national backorder . Going to mount it with bolts and nuts temporarily.
  2. After seeing picture of Factory Harness, Slid under truck and found Connectors. C431 6 pin with dummy connector installed right above LR Bumpstop taped to harness in frame rail. This powers lighting C432 2 pin with dummy connector installed directly beside charcoal canister taped to harness. This is heavy connector to trailer brakes. R&R Spare to find it. C439 is female bar 7 in bedside for trailer. Looks like setup is plug and play. Thanks All Our local dealer has chased off all their best employees. In every department ! It's a shame. Hired a bunch of kids fresh from collage. Never even picked up a wrench...........
  3. Checked my schematic book last night. Looks like harness has 3 connectors. #1 C439, 7 pin Round Functions Turn, Brake, Running Lts. Etc. [Like Bar 7] Under this connector Also says: Trailer Tow Conn. 14A464 #2 C431 6 Pin Rectangle Functions not specified, Circuit Designation CAT #.. Qualifiers 13A576, 14405 #3 C432 2 Pin Oval, Functions not specified, Circuit Designation CAT and RAT I understand 1&2 maybe #3 has no plug to go into it as DslDoc stated. Maybe someone can explain Circuit Designations to me. Been out of Ford a few years. Some of the abbreviations are a mystery.
  4. I need help finding part number for Goose Neck Jumper Harness that goes inside LR Bedside. As well as bezel with attaching parts. I am adding factory gooseneck hitch. Looks like it fits inline of factory bumper tow connector in parts illustration. Not sure on basic number. Possibly 13a576. Have VIN# of lot truck equipped with gooseneck prep package. Not sure about publishing it on site. Please message me for VIN. if needed. Idiots at local dealer can't find it, Even with VIN. And the truck sitting there on the lot Thanks In Advance! Mike
  5. I have seen countless phantom ABS Warnings on Modified Tundras Especially braking and turning down hill. Something I had not considered. Everything is on a network now. Maybe I had better leave this one alone. Someone else also suggested there may be shift point issues. Beginning to miss my 06.
  6. After searching other topics; I find this may not be possible. Found a long thread on wheel/tire size. Maybe taller gears and larger tire? Kind of defeats the purpose!
  7. Hello All, Long time no see! Just purchased one of the last Reg. Cab Duallies in 4 states. Not too crazy about the new Aluminum Bodies. Want to change from 3:73 to 4:30 gears for mountain towing. Differential modifications are pretty straight forward. My question is; How do I make speedo read correctly afterwards? The old days it was a simple switch of speedo gears in trans. 1 Tooth was 7mph. Asked Shop Forman at local dealer and all I got was a dumb look. He had never done that before. Is there a Reflash Involved? Please excuse me if question is in wrong Forum. Thought it fit best here. Thanks In Advance. Mike
  8. You all are correct as usual, Had time to get it inside today. Fuel filters Dirty, Sediment and Water in primary, Small amount of metal in secondary. Took fuel sample from rail and found substantial amount of metal. Sales Manager denied any further testing after I explained what was happening. Don't think this one is worth buying at any price. Repairs will exceed value of the truck. Thanks Again Saved Me A Major Headache!! Mike
  9. No ticks, Pops, Knocks or Abnormal noises. Fluids all full and clean.
  10. Hello All, Long Time No See, Have 08 F250 4x4 80k, No history available. Clean truck. 5th Wheel hitch. Setting Contribution Codes #2 & #7. Short term fuel trim 16 & 18% Also #3 Short fuel trim 13% but no misfires. [All Lean] Using Solus scanner so tests are limited. Injector test says they are working. No vent out degas. Flat dead miss 2 & 7. No smoke rings out oil cap or exaust. Quick diag. tells me 2 injectors out. 3rd on the way. Any ideas?? What about possible valve problem? My experience with 6.4 is nonexistent. Surfing posts suggests bubbles in fuel system and valve/head troubles? I know #7 is meltdown cylinder from my 6.0 days as well as #2 for 6.4 as I read posts. No way to do compression test at the moment. Looking for adapter. Any help will be greatly appreciated! May be able to pick this truck up cheap. 2 trips to auction with no sale. Thanks in advance, Mike
  11. Had one with plugged catalitic convertor causing very similar symptom. If I remember backpressure sensor reading was really odd. Dropped exaust and catalist was rounded and rotating inside case. Caused intermittent concern. Probably not the case here though. Unless RPM drop to idle is causing low pressure readings.

    2001 F450

    2001 F450

I wonder if someone out there would be kind enough to run an Oasis Report on a truck I just purchased for working around the farm. 2001 F450 1FDXF46S41EB25161. Origionally sold in Penn. 2WD, V-10, 5Spd. 165WB. Thanks In Advance!
  14. Has anyone tried to swap a 6spd trans where 5spd came out? 2001 F450 V-10 2 wheel drive. Picked up a truck cheap, Trans sounds like a can of marbles. Have 2005 6spd available not sure if trans will swap in. Both 2wd V-10 trucks. Thanks In Advance
  15. Only one problem.... The Bow Ties. Really Cool stuff though. Like the Cameo Pickup.
  16. Was ICP voltage irratic? From previous post had 03 that had fried FICM. Ran great for a week then another list of problems. ICP voltage is constant but it varies each time I have run it. All on cold engine from .84 to 1.35. At idle. I am unable to run waveforms.
  17. Update on FICM. Owner finally brought in complete preprogramed reman from unknown parts last week. Ran great, Shipped it. Back today running basically the same. FICM voltage normal. Scanned no codes, IPR voltage .84 at idle. Seems out of spec. Going through posts for 03 to compare. I know not to trust pressure readings. Ran power balance 3 had very little change if any. Worse when engine is cold. No time to diag. today just a quick scan. Intermittent miss, no power, blue/white smoke smells like raw diesel. I think it is loosing injectors now. Owner changed oil & filter. As well as fuel filters. Going to check his work. He also added several cans of fuel additive after it started running bad. Unknown brand. It also went to exaust shop for new left manifold and rear crossover pipe. Had massive leak that cooked FICM. New 5" pipe all the way back too.
  18. Thanks Guys, I will replace it. Ford units comming pre-programed now? How many hours labor to replace engine harness? I am unable to find it in our labor guides.
  19. Thinking out loud, Open ground circuit? Maybe dealer left ground wire off? Will half shell repair this? Haven't used a half shell before.
  20. Good friend has 03 F350 Dually Sets all 8 injector codes for low circuits. Engine barely runs. Blue smoke like steam shovel. FICM high voltage floating between 20.4 and 24.5. Low voltage at 12.5. Sure wish I still had a test FICM. Found engine harness chaffed at oil filter housing made temp repair no change. Local dealer wants to install 8 injectors I think they are wrong. It was in same dealer for a 4x4 issue and ran fine when dropped off. Picked it up and will barely run. Owner said they replaced 2 or 3 modules not sure which ones. Find out tommorrow which ones. NOT FICM though. looks like crusty OEM. Maintained religously every 6k. Has 135k on clock. Didn't have any time today for any diag. just a quick scan and visual check. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Mike
  21. I have to say I am missing Diesel Engine Repair and my Super Duty Fleet. Have been at uhhh... Toyota for almost a year. The Tri-fecta repair here is: 90L accelerator pedal modification, COM Power Window Switch Inspection and COJ Rear Trailing Arm Inspection. All recalls. Had an traded in 06 with ruptured EGR cooler last month but they auctioned it. Money is almost double but it is boring here. Shop is running 70% maintance.
  22. My personal truck had cracked head at #7 injector cup. Exact same symptom. It would build excess pressure in degas bottle only after a high boost run. Also had coolant collecting in fuel pump module setting water in fuel light. Ran fine, No missfire, No codes, No smoke
  23. Last month I made a request here for Oasis history on an 06 350 cab & chassis I found in TX. It had 7880 miles and looked brand new, One of you told me to check hours. Meter maxed out 9999.9. Found out it was a water truck, Spent it's time running a pto pump. Thanks Again Guys!! Happy Holidays!!
  24. Good luck! Wish I could get out of wrenching. Body is wearing out! Middle management is a dangerous place! Seen more managers come and go than I can shake a stick at. Most don't know there ass from first base. Hope you can take a face to face ass chewing and keep your cool/ I can't!! GM is a really screwed up place. LOTS OF TSB'S And hard to work there. Seems like whole system is not technician/ user friendly. Much different from Ford.
  25. Sounds like BIG fun. That is exactly why I left my last dealership job. Woman was a cook before she joined GM dealership as circus manager. Had no clue and got an attitude when you tried to explain something technical to her. Told owner it was her or me. I left and a month later he was on the phone trying to rehire me. I had one last year, NAPA filter TOP, Ford filter, NO BASE OIL PRESSURE. NAPA top is slightly taller. Caused oil to bypass ack to pan. It was towed in, No start from local sand & gravel company. Tore top and front off motor tracing flow and pressure testing before I saw NAPA part# stamped in ink on top and compared parts side by side. One for the memory bank.
