4R70W interchange

My parts catalog for an aftermarket reman show a single part number from them, and in the description it lists it replaces both of those tag numbers. I would assume they will interchange then, but makes me wonder what differences Ford had done between them.

I've been told there are no differences but I wanted to see if anyone had run into this before. Seems like the numbers might be the only difference. I'm going to suggest that he puts the transmission in and try it. Thanks!

I just wanted to give an update... After installing the 1L3P into the heritage I found out that they don't interchange. Once I got the truck to 35-45mph the truck would shift to what felt like neutral. I got codes P0720 and P0722, both for the output shaft speed sensor. I looked up the part numbers for the sensors and they were different. I swapped the sensors and that didn't work. I looked at the tone wheel of the 4L3P that I took out and I could visibly see the teeth. The 1L3P has no teeth only drilled holes. So before I pulled the transmission back out I swapped the PCM from the truck I pulled the transmission out from, cut and programmed 2 keys and it fixed the problem. So far there has been issues with the PCM swap.
