  1. I totaly agree. I got into a pissing match with someone over a 6.4 with a dpf delete that was missing the last egt and it wouldn't run after the program was removed.
  2. I got an 11 fusion that won't roll backwards at all. It would go forwads sometimes, but wasn't happy about it.
  3. We had a 2016 Transit come in today with no throttle response and a full christmas tree in the dash. 3.5 ecoboost. Pulled a combined 19 codes out of the pcm, bcm and ic. Ended up finding what looks to have been a rubber plug or vent that is missing from the top side of the pcm case and with the wonderful cowl drain system the pcm got filled with rain water. We don't have another ecoboost on the lot and the other 16 transit with a 3.7 had a different shaped pcm case. I'll try to remember to get a picture tomorrow. And to top it off the pcm is on d99 backorder.
  4. I still used the engine hoist to pick the parts out. (Tweaked my back last weekend and wasn't about to pick those up) But we don't have the engine stand. So I figured out how to make due.
  5. We got some old pneumatic jack. It's a big cabinet thing. It's still a really nice jack. And it's got an engine stand built into one end of it that's heavy enough I can hang a 7.3 off of it. You can just see both ends of it behind the hoist.
  6. I got a 16 F350 chassis cab with a trans leak out of the bell housing. Stood the whole crap up transfer case and all to pull the pump out.
  7. I had the service manager run the vin today. I didn't really learn much more than I already knew.Unless I missed something reading over his shoulder.
  8. That's good to know. I've never had the pleasure of going into one of those monsters. And I hope I don't anytime soon either. They seem pretty bulletproof from what I've seen.
  9. How does one access that?Log into fmcdealer homepage.---------->Select Parts & Service tab. Navigate to Customer Satisfaction. ---------->Click on FMC360 under the Customer Assistance Resources menu. ----------->Click on FMC360 and the FMC360 page will appear with a list of open cases for your dealer. At the top of the page, one can select Search by Contact. Clicking on that link will open up another window that will allow you to search by the four choices, Search By VIN, Search By Name & Zip/Postal Code, Search By Phone Number and Search By Case Number. If you select Search By Case Number, simply enter the case number on the letter that is posted on the Facebook page and you will see all the fancy details of the interaction between the customer and FOMOCO. I think you have to have a certain job title to get in there. I've tried in the past and I got denied access. Yea I just tried looking. You have to be some type of manage or advisor to access FMC 360 in the US. A tech can't access it. I'll get my boss to look it up next week. I found a list of the job titles that have access to it. A service writer does, but a tech doesn't. I think that is a little messed up. Shop foreman is one of the ones who can get in to it which is why some of us can access it while others can't.

  11. My new service manager worked at a dodge store for a while. He claims that Dodge doesn't pay diagnostics and that causes lots of parts throwing.
  12. All that in 2 miles? We had an ambulance get towed about 25 miles and screwed up some stuff in the trans.
  13. I thought I had one. Turned out to be a tight a/c compressor that melted the clutch.
  14. Umm. If my memory serves me right.... You cannot add the factory in bed plug to a truck that didn't have it from the factory. I believe the plugs are missing that the harness plugs into on the main harness.
  15. Was it a continous noise or intermittent?
  16. Lol. I showed this to my wife. She can't stop laughing.
  17. I had a kitten crawl out from under the passenger seat on an 03ish explorer on a road test. Scared the crap out of me.
  18. It's not just the passenger haulers. I noticed it on cargo vans. And I believe some of them were the shorter wheelbases.
  19. I thought I heard a few years back that all Toyota mandated that kind of setup for their dealers.
  20. Watch out for the harness to the #8 injector. My co-worker pinched it on the one we had that was failed. I had to rip the box back off and fix the harness.
  21. That sounds right. At least that's what was on the one I changed oil on yesterday. But that was a 4wd pickup.
