  1. That's why I got married before my hair fell out and my gut rounded out.
  2. I just put one in with that same sheet. It had the horsepower and torque specs. from a dyno run on it.
  3. Canadian bacon sucks! American bacon rules!
  4. I can't say for certain in your case, but I have replaced quite a few inertia switches. It seems odd that they would go bad seeing how they last forever on a gas vehicle. It would be nice to get the truck to act up, but they are cheap and easy to replace if you want to chuck one at it.
  5. That reminds me of lunch the other day. I went out with 3 of our younger (green) guys and I really showed my age. Mike, aka. fabfoes87, mentioned that he had been at the dealer a year to the day. I looked across the table at our newest recruit who is straight out of tech school, then asked the remaining guy at the table how long he had been in the automotive game. He replied "5 years". I then said "oh yea, whad'ya do before that?" He replied ".....uhhh, I was in high school." Hard for me to believe that I'm the resident "old timer" in the shop.
  6. I'm thinkin' if she looks like that, I might have to kick er out of the bed/house. I mean we're not on a desert island, so I could probably be somewhat selective on this one.
  7. The thing that makes them a bitch is the front oil cooler header is in the way, due to the 90 degree bend at the bottom of the lines. You can snake them out but it make take a little "massaging" on the new lines. We have charged 3 hours in the past with fuel filter change and drain water seperator, ect.
  8. Tool number OTC 303-1135/1
  9. You guys hiring? Lookin' to relocate back to the South.
  10. I'm not saying that you would forget....but don't forget to check those heads over for cracks in the valve areas and make sure all the pistons come out of the deck evenly.
  11. I keep a Symptom-System-Component-Cause chart hanging on my wall beside my computer. It keeps me grounded and on track. edit (sp).
  12. I came in a cardboard box like you would get from UPS. That was quite awhile ago, so good luck findin' it. Unless your dealer has a special place they pile up new tools that don't get filed into the correct place.
  13. Basically, you can renew the plate you have but it's the same as regestering a new plate every year. Anytime you see the month on a New Hampshire you can tell when the person was born because they go by your birthday, inspection sticker too. Getting back on track...... Quote: My only concern is how long the shine lasts Just talked to our BG rep today, and he said that if the headlamps fog again within 3 years they will fix it for free!
  14. In New Hampshire there is no sales tax. So to make up for the lost revenue, they stick to ya in other areas. One being yearly vehicle registration. If you look at the sticker in the corner, the plate has expired and it is trash after that.
  15. Anytime I want to know without a shadow of a doubt as to wether a water pump is working, I install a clear piece of hose in the heater supply line. Holy runon sentence Batman! I get the clear reinforced hose from Home Depot or where ever and just hook it in line with a union and you'll see some mad flow thru there if the pump is doing it's job.
  16. Cool, I lucked up by getting that vanity plate from New Hampshire. I was walking thru the showroom and this lady was trading her 'Stang in for a brand new one.
  17. Any idea what the numbers are on temps. for oil and coolant? How was it running when it "started to overheat"? Coolant spewing? Gage going into the red? Coolant low? Customer been dealing with this for awhile?
  18. Ford warranty and trans work = living in the poor house and eating ketchup sandwiches.
  19. Unfortunately FORD spells out a shit ton more sayings.

  21. This truck is an oldy and has a return style fuel system, so there are no check valves in the head. Sounds like the college graduate at the cold line was thinking of a '99 up with the returnless system. As easy as it is to get those injectors out, I would just pop them out and give the things a good look over. You can't hurt anything by re-o-ringing them. Give the cups a good look also.
  22. You gotta love making payments on a truck that's not in your driveway.
  23. Quote: we should get IAT2 to stop getting gooped???? Sadly, I'm not sure we can achieve that goal..... Sure we can. Ford will simply design a cute little shield for us to install around the sensor.
