  1. Holy shit, I didn't know mullets have been around that long! Seriously though, I can skin a buck and run a crop line....I gotta shotgun rifle and a 4 wheel drive....I can plow a field all day long I can catch catfish from dusk til dawn. Oh, and I make my own whiskey and my own smoke too. But seriously, I was out gathering my rocks for the winter the other day, and I came across a.... what did you call it? P-P- Prryye b b b barrrr, and divine intervention shined down on my humble back and I reared up and put my rocks down. But I digress

  3. I'm curious of the bell housing pattern is the same from an inline six to v-8. Anyone know about this?
  4. ^^^^^^And they change the labor time as quick as my wife changes her mind.
  5. Cadillac came out with that a while back, no? It turned a 8 cylinder into a 4 cylinder, if I remember correctly. I don't think it worked for them either.
  6. This truck is beat and has many problems to say the least, Bruce. It defenitely wont be a cut and dry repair. But someone has just replaced all the odd side injectors and now this is going on so I am going to get that side back apart and have a look-see.
  7. Usually, if there is a problem like this, the power balance will pick it up and lead you to the problem side.
  8. I came across and interesting way to see if combustion gas is getting in the fuel system. It was purely accidental and I decided to snap a quick video to try and show ya'll. When ever I have a driveability concern on a 6.0l, I use the new WOT simulator fuel pressure gage. It's easy to hook up and I think it works quite well in conjunction with the 5 gage bar setup to verify fuel pressure problems. First I hooked up the tool to the secondary fuel bowl tap. With IDS loaded and the valve shut on the tool, the engine is ready to start. The engine runs, but runs poorly to say the least as indicated by the power balance screen. With the valve open on the tool, the pressure is well below spec. As the engine was running and I was monitoring all this stuff I noticed this..... The bubbles are alot easier to see live and in person. But you can get the idea. The fuel actually pulses like a heart beat as it flows through the hose. My boss wanted me to get the fuel pressure to spec. before doing anything. I replaced a faulty fuel pressure regulator and got the pressure up to 58 psi. Now it's time to dive into the right bank of the engine.
  9. I have been on a tear about checking hour meters on Super Dutys the past couple of days. Some interesting results have followed. Most of the trucks I have checked are almost triple the mileage on the odometer. Of course that depends on which number you use. Which leads me to ask the question that has already been asked but changes with the wind direction....are we using 33 or 25 for the conversion number at this time? No matter what the number is, we are seeing alot of trucks that are way out on there maintenance needs. This being because they are only looking at the odometer. Lastly, will Ford take into consideration high hours versus low mileage in warranty decisions?
  10. Tell it to the judge, pal.
  11. Focus drivetrain being asked to alot more work, and the rear u bolts require periodic tightening. I'll take a dozen please.
  12. Aaron, It looks like you gotta free meal comin'
  13. Haven't you been told to never say "never"?
  14. Our tool is still laying around the shop loose in the bag it came in. I think I'll try and round up the box it should go into that Keith referenced.
  15. I read about this idea from fellow member Chris Worley, whom may or may not still frequent this site. This idea is pure genius in my opinion! Use a 3/4 wrench, and slip it over the fitting block and let it rest against the lowest flat on the bolt holding the gear on. This allows you to easily torque the fitting with one hand, its almost instant and it aligns the block perfectly. Since adopting this method I have tossed all the cheesy brackets out the window.
  16. I think there is way too much confusion around a powertrain that is supposed to be out in a month or so. I mean if it's gonna be in a 2010 truck and August is around the corner, then what's the big fuckin secret. Ford needs to let us in on what's going on pretty damn soon. After all they do expect us to fix them.
  17. Excellent to hear! Put another one in the books.
  18. Not much of a drinker here, but I could go with a Cherry DR. Pepper.
  19. Ask 'em how much it would cost 'em for you to be outawork for 6 months or so after a serious injury, that could be attributed to pinchin pennies.
  20. What would be the beverage of choice to wash down that tasty morsel?
  21. HHHHHHMMMMMMMMM......fat back (drool).
