  1. Glasses since 6 years old, I am not even a candidate for lazer correction surgery, my shits pretty bad off.
  2. Quote: According to the customer, it IS part of the factory drive belt routing The only thing I want to know from the customer, is when it happens, what happens, how long has it been happening, ect. When it comes to whats actually on the vehicle, customers dont know a fuckin thing about it, unless they built the thing for cryin out loud. This customer is pullin your chain, Mike. There's no way that this customer can say without a shadow of a doubt that that pulley came on the truck from the factory. You've worked on a ton of these, and I'm sure as I to, have never seen this pulley from the factory. Seen alot of them that look like that, that have aftermarket PTO setups though. I would consider finding out what the aftermarket setup is and seeing if they have a phone number, if all else fails with the bearing I.D.
  3. How's that saying go "I plead the fifth"?
  4. Anything can be defeated, if you know a good IT guy. The question is what adverse effects will happen if defeated. We had a local sheriffs department buy 10 mid 90's thunderbirds, only to find out they shut down at around 95 mph. They wanted to get a 100+ out of them only to find out that the tailshaft bushing in the trans would spin right out at that speed and drop the driveshaft. Ouch.
  5. My local college was toying with ceramic engine blocks.....but they would seize when hot and run when cooled down.
  6. I just read this and then looked at the photos in the service tips section of the affected year models......good thing they said it's ok to use, 'cause that thing looks like hammered shit.
  7. Four buddies are playing golf. One steps into the woods to relieve himself. So the other 3 are bragging about how well there children are doing. The first guy mentions that his son has a huge successful auto dealership. The second talks about how is son is the best contractor and has condos going up all over the north side of town. The third guy brags about how well his son is doing in the stock market and is the top broker in the state. By now the Fourth guy has rejoined the group and they ask how his son is doing. He replies, oh I have to say I don't agree with his lifestyle and sexual preference. But he's doing alright I guess, he's got a brand new car, a condo, and one hell of a portfolio.
  8. '05 F-150 with a stuck mode door. 4.3 hours....thanks Ford.
  9. what the heck happened to that rig at about a minute and 6 seconds?
  10. Oh, I can't take credit for that. Jeff dug that thread up for me awhile back at my request by pm. I just went back to my messages and put it up. This "repair" is heavily dependant on what type of sealer you use on the new nipple, and depending on what you use, how long you let it cure.
  11. http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubb...=true#Post15917 This threads a hoot Aaron, you'll get a kick out of it.
  12. Mike, I'm using the Motorcraft pigtail "calendar", the connector pigtail is WPT338, Ford #3U2Z-14S411-ARA. Order that up and it will fit no problems. The only thing that may be of concern is the gage of the wiring. From the photo it looks 1 size gage down from what is original on the truck. I would look at it when you get it. But as long as the heater is new or not in too bad a shape the wiring should handle the amp draw nicely.
  13. Well, what's the word Aaron? You've had all weekend, and a long one at that, to mull it over. Which route you gonna take?
  14. I recognize a few names over there. I forgot to sign my member number and dts logo.
  15. We got a few of them It looked like an expensive shipping process. Every one of those units were tied down with those big yellow ratchet straps. It had one on every wheel. There must not be any place to use the regular chain setup. I don't know for sure I didn't look that close. Got nauseas standing this close.
  16. Looks like you got all the nice tools still, though. That stand and picker are the cats arse. Nothing like the 'ol dog and pony show. It is a toss up for me, as far as cab off engine removal goes. I have done it both ways for engine removal and neither seemed to be better than the other. But these were on F-Series. Now your talkin' about an Excursion. Head gaskets, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the body off. Engine removal I'm iffy about. Alot of factors can play in this decision. How much crap is in the way of getting to the body bolts that the customer is carrying in the thing? Do the running boards have to come off to lift the body? How picky is the customer if they happen to see the body off? I mean after all we are pulling the motor not replacing the frame. How long is the job going to tie up your bay? Do you have more than one bay to work out of, ect, ect. And of course cab offs make you stand out in a crowd. If the motor is a running complete, or does not need to be torn down as far as the top end goes, then it's worth taking the body off. Then you don't have to remove the turbo and y-pipe and stuff on the top. If I was doing a short/long block then I would snatch the motor out the front. I'm sure you remember the days of the 7.3L? Every one I ever did came out the front. And I did all the heads in chassis. And believe me it was a chitload of them on the IDI units.
  17. I surely hope that was his first cab off, cause once I hit the up button, she don't stop til the pistons max out on the lift.
  18. Been there done that, I've been lookin' for some forearm extensions on E-bay.
  19. What the HEEELLLL is a brain freeze? And why does it happen when I drink a slushie too fast with a straw? And most inportantly, why will I do it again in the near future? Any help on this would most appreciated.
  20. They aren't exactly new, they been runnin' around over where they build them for a while, from what I've heard. Of course that could have been a vicious rumor that I have now perpetuated, thus getting myself and everyone involved caught up in the big machine .
  21. I'm sorry but I can not make any deals, whether they be current or in the future, with the DEVIL eastendpowerjoke Tinker Bell Engineer Registered: Posts: Location:
  22. +1 on thinking it's fixed. This is a very common problem on the modular motors, esp. in van chassis'
  23. You get a side order of "defibrillator" with that? Hope you gotta stairmaster at home.
  24. Brake booster hose should be about the easiest place to get smoke in there.
  25. The only I've got that comes to mind is.....you seem to get all the shit work! Hope your dealer and comrades value your presence in the shop. If I was there and you decided to pack it in, I would do whatever possible to change your mind, so I wouldn't have to work on them junkers. By the way unplug the MAF and see what happens.
