  1. up here we do these pumps like tire rotations...test drive and monitor FRP at WOT. you will see it drop off usually to about 5psi. If you have no FPDM DTCs its pretty much a guaranteed pump and filter change.
  2. with the multipoint??? wow thats a kick in the face...
  3. Heres another thing...how are we supposed to write on the RO that the customer has a "chip" if we are going to get in trouble for it. I can see it already. We would get crapped on by the SM because the customer is a "good customer" and he bought the truck here blah blah. Our Boss is also in Sales so I couldnt see this going over to well. We cant say nothin without approval.

  5. i think those aftermarket warranty guys you get on the phone are just like the fleet card guys. they all get paid based on how much $$ they approve. the less $$ they approve the more they take home.
  6. Didnt Ford say something about high under hood temps in the 6.4 as well? In fact didnt they atually say NOT to use a winter front. Now they come with one...
  7. i saw that article too...but did you see a few pics later the new headgasket sitting on the engine ready for assembly
  8. I really dont get this logic...just because the numbers say something means your problem never existed? That it cant happen?
  9. because Ford wont go broke off gas engine repairs if they didnt do everything possible to kick back warranty claims on diesels or draw out the process as long as possible they'd be broke in a matter of weeks!
  10. agreed, why should i get my cert. only to haveto work twice as hard to make the same amount or possibly less money...sure i will make more per hour but with crap like this you cant even break even. It may not be as much of a shock to techs who have been working on these since release and have lots of experiance but for a new tech to do this crap and make a living off of it...no way.
  11. maybe someone trained it at a higher pressure?
  12. if we were required to have one it would most likely be made out of wood/paper and scrap iron anyways...(inside joke)
  13. here's something i found the other day. Seems the LV stands for Low Viscosity and is supposed to increase fuel economy..maybe in the same way 5w20 does? Im not sure...supposed to be a "lifetime" fluid as well. http://www.imakenews.com/lng/e_article000801818.cfm?x=b11,0,w
  14. those may say Ford on them but they are not "factory". These ones are not those spliced in garbage units your used to seeing.
  15. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Ready-for-Winter-Ford-Adds-prnews-2776699520.html?x=0&.v=1 Strange just today at coffee we were saying how Ford really needs to do this.
  16. I ran into this a while ago on a Foose F150 with the roush charger. It has the same 2 belt setup with the braket and pulley that need to be removed to replace the accesory drive belt. I think it was about 3 hours but im sure I could cut an hour off if i did it again. As for the pulley im pretty sure i borrowed some contraption from JIM which was a bolt with a 14 or 13mm head welded to a socket. And i think it was left hand thread.
  17. Hopefully the mexicans build a better powerstroke then the americans
  18. heres mine faster then what we got at work anyways eh Dwayneat least i can do an online course at home... heres my neighbors, i should be using theres instead why they chose not to have a passkey I have no idea...
  19. usually damage to those cam journals leads me to find a Fram/Penzoil/Quakerstate or any of those other Honeywell brand full of cardboard peice of crap filters under the truck as well...
  20. yup its pretty bad when management blocks a resourcefull site...and for no reason at all other then us checking in here when were not busy or on coffee break...and whats wrong with that?
  21. well at least hes not using it to heat the cab...
  22. ya i did some research and apparently in australia and other countries without CAFE regulations Ford doesnt use 5w20...so im thinkin no problems.
