  1. there is a HUGE difference between progressive democrats, conservative dems, conservative republicans, and republicans. Liberals and TRUE repulicans oppose corporations and the trickle down theory (give to the rich eventually they will trickle it down to the people) CONServatives are ruining this country, whether its a repulican, or democrat. Repulicans are against big government, but they are for regulating banks, corporations, insurance, jobs, trade. I'm an progressive democrat, and i support Ron Paul's views on how to fix the economy, but i think healthcare should be a right not a privelage. You can thank CONServatives for de-regulating banks, insurance, and wall street, which in the pursue of profit did everything possible to cut costs and make their investors happy, like shipping jobs overseas. We are just NOW feeling the affects of Ronald Reagans de-regulating everything and letting the FED do whatever it wants. Seriously....the gun thing....no one is going to take your stupid guns. I'm so sick of hearing that...do you know the reason you're allowed to have a gun...because the founding fathers didn't want to have a standing army like we have..and to have citizens be the "army" and call upon them in need to fight for their country. I'm going to say this and catch ALOT of flack. CONServatives go AGAINST everything our country was founded on. They are hiding behind the repulican party ruining it. Ron Paul and Lindsay Graham even said they want the conservatives out of their party because it's poisoning their message. CONServatives appose abortion...yet they don't give a crap after the kid's born. CONServatives don't realize there is suppost to be a seperation of church and state like our founding fathers wanted...yet they hide behind catholocism. Again, i just want whats right for this country and for my future kids. True repulicans and Progressive democrats are the only ones that want whats right for the american people....an country is only as strong as it's middle class which has been gouged by CONServatives for YEARS. CONServatives think global warming is a joke. They cry socialism is not the way, but we have socialism all around us...fire, ambulance, police and our ARMED FORCES are the biggest representation of a socialist system, but people are too stupid to realize it. I really wish we didn't have this topic because everyones views are soo different i hope it wont poise the balance we have on this site. Politics creates enemies.
  2. I never said I believed him.....i just stated what i was told. I think all the flush's are a joke and not worth it. When customers asked me the honest opinion i tell them to just follow their owners manual. FLUSH QUEENS aren't mechanics.
  3. Why shouldn't you get sick days?
  4. This is what i started doing torwards the end of me being at the dealer. Any egr concern that had a severely coked up egr passage would get a up sold egr intake cleaning sent down to our IH dealer who had a hot-tank. The only problem was that they took too long to do it so i stopped. It worked wonders and i woulda loved to do it more if we could get them back in time. Our BG guy said that Chicago uses their EGR cleaning system on all their 6.0's with great results. Chicago NEVER, NEVER, NEVER turns off their ambulances, until the EGR passages are so coked up they wont move.
  5. Um, i drove in a customers 6.4L (he was complaining about a trans leak) at 119mph. He had his GPS confirm it and his bullydog confirm it also. He's gotten it to 130mph (i called bullshit) but the trans leak was the trans fluid foaming out of the vent tube. I told him to never come back (from louisiana).
  6. This new website changed my mind on not-waiting for the new truck. I am so going to buy a new 6.7L. Look at when Ford makes an engine in house....barely any problems. I usually see problems when they outsource everything like with navistar. I can't wait to see fuel economy numbers on the 6.7L and 6.2L also. BTW has anyone seen how ugly the new chevy dually 3500 trucks are....blah...looks like it has 13'' rims on it.
  7. i cant believe im missing out on all the motor blowing fun. I use the MOA in my parents navigator and its awesome. I'll use it in the next couple vehicles i buy.
  8. My friend was replacing a hydraulic hose on one of those car haulers at the chicago taurus plant, they had 100's of trans-connects on lot. All had the keys in them...so he sat in one...said it was the worst smell hes ever smelled. Car hauler driver said the same thing. Each one smelled as bad as the 2nd. I sat in one on friday and it didn't smell. They seem to be a hit out here, have seen a lot of them on the road lately.
  9. I am pricing out E series commercial vansand there is no diesel option on the website for 150-350.
  10. Been there....done that...seen it happen... Look on ure faces and the dropping feeling in the stomach is the best.
  11. S.O.A.B. i cant believe i didnt know bout this. I coulda made so much extra cash.
  12. I've been seeing a lot more new ambulances that are chevy vans with the duramax in it,
  13. What do you guys honestly think? I'm looking to buy a couple vehicles for the fleet and i was thinking one trans-connect and one E250 with a 4.6L. I like the trans connect for the room it has, the MPG, and parking in downtown chicago wont be an issue. I'm weiry of purchasing the first year for a new model.
  14. Our next dog is going to be a Great Dane, and we're gonna name him/her dudley. Those dogs are sooo awesome but they dont live long which sucks. Kona is suppost to get big but she stopped at 35lbs and we don't think shes gonna get bigger. Shes awesome though so it doesn't matter. This is my first dog from a rescue and its absolutely worth it. There is something about them unlike pure breeds that they appreciate you.
  15. thank you soo much guys. Ive been on everyone i know to do it, but everyone is slacking. As usual this site always takes care of one of its members. the site wasnt working right yesterday so they are keeping the voting open for 3 more days. thanks again.
  16. If i went through all that again, i woulda taken workmans comp. I was trying to be a tough guy and said i don't need workmans comp yadda yadda. stupid of me. Oh well.
  17. I pulled my back and kept pinching nerves in my back after trying to lift a torqueshift onto or super tall trans jack. The apprentice didn't hold up his end and i felt the worst pain in the world. I was off 1 month, only got paid 2weeks vacation, and have been going to the chiropractor the past year and half at my expense. The thing that fixed me was getting outta the business. The weirdest one was when i was on a drive up, slipped on the end of the rack and my hand caught the 3 studs holding the map sensor onto the evap box. That was 5 stitches...
  18. While i was watching "the real housewives of new jersey," (was forced into watching it) one of the husbands pretty much said "happy wife, happy life." My favorite saying is "FML" in frustrating situations like, bridal shows, the decorating for the wedding, "does this make me look fat questions." it stands for "F*ck My Life." Those three letters usually make the situation better and we both start laughing.
  19. I was at our shop today and my dad got a call asking where our location was. My dad told them our address and 5minutes later a van pulls up and a person comes out asking if we are "A & R Diagnostic." I said ya, he opens up his back door and sitting in the back of his van is a 72'' wide griddle (the flat top commercial grills with a flat stainless top covering the entire grill). It has to be at least 1000lbs. I looked at the guy and said, "we don't be used equipment." Guy: "I know, i want you to fix it." Me : "Why did you bring it to us? Why didn't you have a service call?" Guy: "I don't want to pay the $55 travel charge, so I brought it to you to save money." I couldn't believe the lengths this guy went through to get his equipment repair done. My dad told him to take the griddle back to his restaurant and hook it back up and we will wave the $55 travel charge to help him out. What get's me is that we have the lowest service call/hourly charge in chicago/suburbs. How have things been with you guys? What's the weirdest thing you guys have been asked to do, to save a customer money.
  20. I will tell you right now, if we win the $1,000,000 i would have no trouble giving a share back to those that voted (me and the wife discussed it)
  21. Thanks Aaron. I'll give you tips on how to fix your oven. LoL. remember it's everyday.
  22. Hey guys, please please please do me a favor and click the following link in which you will vote for my dog in the "cutest dog" contest. Just click the link and click "vote." Make sure it looks like my dog on top of a leather couch, jack daniels blanket under her and eating a high white bone looking at the camera. You can vote once a day, and it doesnt take much time outta your day and would mean a lot to me. Thanks guys. http://www.cutestdogcompetition.com/vote.cfm?h=071A765B3F38198CEA6F620B96E75D71
  23. The "tech" at my old dealer had a 5 gallon bucket of used diesel oil at his house and let the new ones(there was more then one) soak in the bucket to get that used look. Then bent them. But, they NEVER called them back. Do you know how pissed I got after a week went by and I had to work on his comebacks, seeing the OASIS sheet stating "branch tube replaced" and i was working on the exact van he had a week ago. But I got bad-mouthed about and the manager only believed him. I kept my mouth shut and took care of the customer.
  24. Keith....what happened to that guy? I wanna know what happened with the truck in the forum.
