  1. I'm in the middle of getting rid of all but two of my windows machines. I'm fed up with micrsoft and it's crappy operating systems.I'm keeping one at home just in case I need windows for some reason and one at work until ADP starts supporting android. Otherwise I'm switching to all Android tablets, mainly because of thier simplicity of use. They are cheaper and faster than laptops and desktops. If they lockup it doesnt take much to end the task or restart them( current start time on my xp machines after lockup= 8-10min)(win 7 not much faster). I tried out win 8, I really dont like it and it locked up 3 times the first time i used it. The win 8 computer is now almost a year old and as slow as my xp machines. The worst part is I've grown up with this microsoft and I always gave it the benefiut of the dought. Well this year I'm calling it quits with microsoft. The one thing I'll give microsoft is that thier software has always been open to aftermaket use, unlike apple who uses only proprietary programs and files. Nothing like having to pay twice for music/files/programs because the device you want to put it on can't play the apple file because apple will sue them for doing so. Sorry about the rant just had to get this off my chest. thanks
  2. Same here accept I use a sharpie.I dont't know how many times I've been pulled away while torqueing head bolts or slipped on them.
  3. Ya they are done by an "officially license truck shop" according to this article, the truck they start with is $50k and then its $22k to convert it. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/02/10/ford-tonka-f-150-is-ultimate-toy-for-very-big-boys/
  4. The one I just did broke the crank into 3 pieces amongst doing many other bad things. Amazingly this thing still ran after it got towed in. The bearings looked like bacon, but didn't smell near as good.
  5. Here's a great tool for starting just about anything. Its small but I started and explorer off it 3 times without the battery hooked up just fine and it still showed a full charge.
  6. I saw this 2014 tonka truck today, I still can't believe somebody would pay $70,000 for this.
  7. I saw on PTS they announced that windows 8.1 will be supported with the release of IDS R90 on april 16 2014. thank god
  8. http://www.rotundatechtools.com/prodDetail.cfm?partno=SCH11400 Rotunda has something very similar for $47.95.
  9. http://www.trucktrend.com/future/concepts/1404_2016_ford_svt_bronco_coming_soon/ V6 powerstroke in a f150 chassis, this could be interesting. I can only hope it's a typo.

  11. I thought I'd take a poll of what everybody does for gelled fuel. I personally change fuel filters and shove diesel 911 in it and that usually take care of them. I'm not sure if this is right or correct but it's what I've always done. Doesn't happen very often but If they come back gelled again i drain the tank and refill with new and with ford anti gell.

  13. The wife and I just got back from a cruise to grand cayman and jamaica. Stopped at a car museum in grand cayman and saw this high performance diesel power boat motor.
  14. I like our four post for lifting cabs. i just put on the bumper jack adapters and up we go.
  15. So, if ford is in bed with microsoft, when in IDS going to support WIndows 8? If history serves as an example, probably about the time windows 9 comes out? I personally like Android. I can only hope the next ford scan tool uses tablets instead of computers.

  21. So I was putting a 6.7 long block for a valve that came apart in #7(my first). I get all done and it runs a little funny and keeps throwing a crank sensor code. I go over to the old engine and see something that looks like a rear crank seal... I didn't transfer the crank sensor reluctor!!! just thought I'd let everyone know, oh, and the trans comes out pretty fast when your really pissed.
  22. If it ain't broke might as well fix it? what was wrong with the old setup
  23. the only thing i've ever seen is diesels getting ticketed for running "offroad" or untaxed fuel on streets and highways.
  24. i found this "6.7 operating and maintenance tips sheet" in the owner info the other day, accordding to it the coolant should be tested every 15,000 miles or 600 hrs,
