  1. This new fuel system has absolutely no tolerance or forgiveness for any sort of contamination. I don't even know if I would accept the job. I would for sure write a big huge"ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKIN GUARANTEE" on the front and the back of the R.O. Is this thing still under warranty? I would almost have to consider the fact that used parts would void any kind of warranty. Not sure what any of the other fellers around here think. I'll sit back and wait for some more opinions.
  2. I don't think it is the washer solvents. I have had some do this after high pressure injection repairs. I think it may have something to do with the quick and sudden surge of high oil pressure after the oil system has been opened up and bled down. This things will build 100 psi cold at times. I may be wrong, but I still think it is related to the surge of high pressure.
  3. FAULTY, FAULTY, FAULTY! Always use the word FAULTY in your story sentences my friends. It is a very broad word that covers a very wide range! Educate everyone in your dealerships about this one very simply word. Examples: Faulty EGR cooler, faulty head gaskets, faulty heads, faulty turbo, faulty FICM, faulty engine and so on and so on. I guess FUCKED could be a substitute for FAULTY though. I kinda like FUCKED myself. There we have it, Political correctness with only two words!
  4. Quite a while back (almost a couple of months ago) I ended my membership to that website. I had realized after I had been consumed by this idiot's ignorance and stupidity that I was being sucked in and being consumed too much by a complete retard. I realized that allot of us are passionate about what we do and take some things like this to heart. Most of us tried to make this retard realize that he is a complete fucking crook and douche bag. However, no-one has seemed to convince him of this. I myself had said even some stupid things while not realizing how stupid it made me look when talking about this tard on this site. But believe me when I say, that it was out of compassion for what I do and for trying to set things right. Keith even had to set me straight once. Don't worry Keith, I am actually laughing about the whole situation. Every time I had checked into the site I kept looking at how many members the site had. It really wasn't that many. I think it was around 170 at that time. Not sure what that number is at now. But I had also realized that most of these members were on that site only to bash this idiot and expose him for what he really is. But I had also realized that all of these members added up in his statistic numbers and were making his numbers look better than they really should be. So I ended my membership. And I don't miss that bullshit site one bit and I am no longer consumed with this Idiot's bullshit. I'm not trying to say that everyone else should do the same as me. I just realized that Assholes like that lure me in and I get way to wound up over corrupt bullshit like that.   5. Stick a plug in a cold hole and try to move it back and forth to see how much drag it creates. Once that hole warms up I'm sure you'll notice that things just start flowing better.
  6. Sometimes my wording isn't all that great and sounds a little fifferent that what I meant. I was more or less getting at the point about the fact that some folks really beat themselves up about this Onion and Big three topic. I do like to stir the pot a little at times in case no-one has ever noticed. But I don't think we should all lose any sleep over it. Life is a bitch sometimes and sometimes and a Bitch Sometimes does our life some good. But, once we've beat the bejejus out of this topic, I'll start another topic under this "SPEAK UP" post that has been brewing in my corrupt mind for quite some time. because it's sometimes fun to bitch.   7. When the economy goes in the dump and we have a recession like this, consumers generally quit buying new products. But the trend is that they repair what they have because they can't afford to replace it. It takes a while for this to happen beacause we have to wait for all those newer cars to get a little old. Things just don't happen overnight either. The Recession sucks, Plain and simple. But I try to focuss on what I have control over rather than what I don't. I know I stray a little from that with topics like this, but hey, I try.
  8. 50 % of the EGR coolers I do wind up with a leaking sending unit it seems. However, I have replaced quite a few sending units on trucks that haven't had oil coolers changed. I had wondered for a while if it was something I was doing wrong as well.

  10. Most Automotive dealerships up here don't have unions and we all work eight hours day or more if we want to We are not pushed to do anything we don't want to. But as a benefit to make extra money, overtime is available. And last I checked it is the Labor law standard and up here we call the Labor Board that sets the rules and regulations for standard hours and work Weeks and so on. the Unions didn't do shit to set up my hours of work. In fact i have worked for a Union one time in my life and it was one of the most abused freaking unions I have ever seen. All of us grunts at the bottom of the totem pole had to work our asses off while the old lazy fuckers at the top of the totem pole fucked the dogs day in and day out. I still believe that unions had a good intention when they were first invented decades ago. But their day has come and gone. And allot of the reason for that is because they have become way to abused and create way to many politics. They need to quit fucking around and trying to think about how to stick it to management and just start worrying about doing an honest days work. And in fairness to employees, Management needs to do the same. This is where I believe the labor boards should be improved.

I know allot of you folks down south get upset at the idea of the Big Kahuna and the two sponges setting up shop outside of North America. I don't like the idea much either, but how else are they gonna get rid of the fuckin onions? Maybe once they do that, they will set up shop back home again. Like the old saying goes: It sometimes has to get worse before it gets better. The onions did it to themselves and my heart pumps purple piss for them. However, I don't think the CEO's of these companies who have mismanaged them for so long should be let off the hook either. The cock sucker that ran GM ( what's his fuckin name again)got a $28,000,000 severance. Fucker shoulda got a bullet.

  14. I have changed a couple for blowing out or leaking. However, I do see allot less of the 03' coolers fail than the 04' and newer ones. And as for meeting emissions, the website does say this: Street Legal – no waivers or “off-road use only” restrictions! Doesn't mean that these coolers meet emissions, but at least they're legally acceptable. And I don't know what's worse for the environment an improved cooler that won't blow or a cooler that will pump 20 litres of burnt coolant out the tailpipe and piss all over the ground through the seems of the muffler. Not to mention the bad ass clouds of second hand smoke that these pieces of shit leave the highways covered in. I think the second hand smoking bylaws should include Sick Litres myself.
  15. Keith, I know we have discussed this topic before. And I often wonder how you guys down south don't see the failures we that we see out here. But I also wonder sometimes if the boys out in Eastern Canada see the failures that we do out here in patch as well. In fact, it is extremely abnormal out here to only see one cooler fail on these things. Which also makes me believe that the we see a huge failure rate out here in the oil patch. See, we see triple failures on these trucks all the time. It is extremely common to see ECT/EOT correlation differences of anywhere from 40 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit difference. Now being that I see this much of a pain in the ass failures on these trucks makes it seem like we deal with some major crap out here compared to elsewhere. And with that being said, because of the type of huge headaches we deal with out here makes me know that we are going to have huge headaches with the prior approval process. Hell, I already spend hours in a day doing paperwork. And don't worry, I'll get over it. But I know it's gonna be a major Pain in the ole' ars.

But I think that would almost break the government's piggy bank. And back on topic: What are everyone's thought's on how they deal with these kind of situations for the prior approval? Do we phone in and ask to replace the coolers and then after that doesn't fuckin fix it, phone in again for head removal, and then phone in for head replacement? And then imagine the fuckin gong show when we find fucked pistons and cylinder walls.

  18. The major problem here though is that they have been asking for the EGR coolers back lately. You're fucked if you do and you're fucked if you don't.
  19. I'll give you all a good example of where the mentality of this type of warranty scrutiny is complete bullshit. Not that any of you already don't know this. I'm performing a head gasket repair right now as per TSB 09-8-3. I have a fucking geyser of coolant coming out of the degas bottle. I never miss any steps in this TSB when I am diagnosing, However, I have refined my diagnostics procedures like many of you most likely have. I mean fuck, most of us are flat rate and even if we aren't we don't like to fuck around and waste time on useless fucking procedures. Not until step 7 does the TSB tell us to install the pressure guage on the cooling system when we are diagnosing for head gasket concerns. So I get this truck cold. Rad cap is fucked and only holds 8 psi. Replace cap. Step 3-test egr cooler on vehicle. Rad kit plus does not leak down. So step 5. Rather that wait until step 7, I leave my pressure guage hooked up on the cooling system and grab my IDS and set up my pids. Engine is cold. Get two blocks from the dealership and the pressure guage is blowing off and the rad cap sounds like a tea kettle. This is where I think they need to refine the TSB. I agree that if EOT exceeds ECT, you need to address the Engine oil cooler issue. However, there is no step in the procedure that addresses excessive cooling system pressures with low engine coolant temperature. You know you have a major issue when this type of scenario is occurring. So I finish the road test and verify that EOT exceeds ECT by 26F. So we are to service the Fucking oil cooler like we should and then retest. Retest verifies, I still have a fucking geyser. Remove heads, gaskets are fucked and heads are absolutely screwed. Test the EGR cooler in water and the fucking thing doesn't leak. So I am in the middle of replacing th heads right now and because the EGR cooler doesn't leak, I am putting it back on the truck. But I just know this fucker is gonna bite me big time within a month to six months and cost more fucking money than fixing it right fucking now would. I have had this happen before. And now with this new warranty scrutiny bullshit, they will look at it as a repeat repair and we're gonna get fucked real hard. Thank god I have a boss who is willing to fight for us. But at the same time, we will look bad to Ford and the fuckin customer. But our fuckin hands are tied. No wonder we drink so fuckin much. Maybe I wouldn't if I didn't fucking care about my workmanship pride. But I fuckin do care dammit! We all know what the right thing to do would be if this were a retail job. Fix the fuckin thing and save our customers from an "UNNECESSARY" huge fucking future expence or should I say "Repeat Repair? Alright rant is over for today anyway. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
  20. Notice the last sentence of the first paragraph: COMPANY MANDATE OF CONTROLLING UNNECESSARY WARRANTY EXPENSE. So much for fixed right first time. We all know that you can pull an EGR cooler and bench test it and the fucker won't leak cold. But put back in the truck and they will leak like a MOFO. I can see allot of comebacks happening all over Canada and Ford really fuckin us saying it is a repeat repair. My ass is puckering already.
  21. Well the end result was $2400.00, allot of excavation and a wheel barrow full of mud to take home and add to my landscaping. I only chiseled what was at each corner of the truck to access the brake components and all around the diff to access the rear cover to replace the axle seals. That took long enough. If I would have chiseled away at the whole truck I could have probably filed eight wheel barrows.
  22. And the ironic part is that I just payed for four loads at $50.00 a truck load for dirt to landscape my yard. I think I will just start pulling the wheel barrow up under these things before I start chiseling and save myself some money.
