  1. Did she actually call you 'Ching chang chong'? Right there would have been enough for me. Shes gonna start like that my reply is: "that can't be your truck, you're a woman. Only men drive trucks like that!"
  2. Nothing wrong with cold. I can always put another coat on. Some customers might object to me working in my drawers when it's too hot.
  3. I've done that before, it works well if the busted off piece turns in the head. I weld a short piece of rod with a "t" on the end of it first. Use a hex shaped rod, so if the T doesn't turn, you can cut it off with a whizzy-wheel and put a 5mm socket on it. You need to use a softer steel, and get the welder as hot as you can.
  4. B-rad does real good work when it comes to writeups and photos. I especially like the parts list ones, for the engine teardown/buildups. I have most if not all of them printed off in my toolbox.
  5. We build these at work. They have automatics in 'em. According to Wikipedia, they weigh 20 tons.
  6. That hub tamer doodad is the coolest thing ever. If I ever end up back in the trade or with a well enough outfitted shop at home, I'm all over ordering one of those.
  7. Only saw one Transit AT fail, and it was one I suspect was stuck in the mud. No teeth left on the differential, the oil was chrome. They got 'er stuck in the snow/ice, and figured at WOT it would get 'er unstuck.
  8. If stuff in your area has 200,000kms on it, how many hours does it have?
  9. ^^ That's my favorite. I will see your 'shop tour' and raise you: "Sure is a lotta work just to change the oil, eh?!" I've seen customers and salesmen go pale after that statement.
  10. Harness that comes out of the truck at the firewall all mangled up/soaked with oil causing the insulation to deteriorate? Something shorting out in the column wiring?
  11. Had a guy come in and say "I'm here to pick up the Ford" "Well, you can pretty much have any one you like out in the parking lot! Enjoy your search!"
  12. On a high-rail truck, I'd personally pull the engine out, depending on what kind of high rail equipment the truck has, most of them around here have an additional 18-24 inches of crap stacked in front of the front bumper. Not fun.
  13. Nope. We had one of them in Windsor too. I watched him get a stud out of a 5.4 3v 05 F-series, with the manifold on. he DID drill into the water jacket, but he did get the stud out!
  14. Email me that photo, someone wants to see a larger version. Also mail me the stooges picture if ytou still have it.
  15. This coming from a trained, certified firefighter, that drives the truck.
  16. Guys used to laugh at me when I was a service advisor, my tickets would always have a paragraph sometimes more describing customer complaint and any other info I felt was pertinent to the concern. Had a guy say something to me at the counter about it one day, and said, Well, how many times do you need to waste your time coming up here and having me ask or call the customer about some specific issue regarding his complaint? The answer was "never". The reply was "There ya go." The worst thing ever was when we were on SERTI when i worked in Essex - the ticket would say "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TROUBLES"
  17. Does the PCM change for the fan substitute for the different clutch on the older 6.4/6.0 trucks that had the different clutch? or does the 6.7 have a different clutch also? been out of the ford world for awhile, so haven't been keeping up with em.
  18. Common sense is so rare it should be a freakin' suiperpower. Dwayne - text me. 5198902941
  19. William Tyler "Grumpy" Jenkins passed away today. Legend of drag racing, small block chevrolet and pro stock guru. Rest In Peace. Had the pleasure of meeting the man about 7 or 8 years ago in Malvern, at his shop. Super good guy. Got a picture with him. Will truly be missed by the industry and racing community.
  20. Got your magic wand back from the repair shop, I see How ya been dude?
  21. Yah, well, stick your hand in my pickup without my permission, get bit, and I have to take my best friend for the needle. Seems fair as fuck.
