  1. Is your whole truck scrotum colored???? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif
  2. Well Larry, I don't know if I'd be so eager to order these things. My dealership has gotten 3 of them, and 2 were seized. My parts manager called Ford and talked to some "engineer" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif about the issue, and told us that supposedly they free up after beating on the truck for a while. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_crazy.gif Not wanting to be a guinea pig, I rejected the seized ones anyway. Has anyone tried this theory of "beating on the truck" long enough to free up one that is seized???????
  3. I'll bet Banks is already developing a Honda style fart cannon exhaust system for this...and a double hoop spoiler /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/stooges.gif
  4. No, that's not what David is saying. The CHRA doesn't come with a unison ring, and after getting 2 bad CHRA assemblies, he needed to find justification to replace the whole turbo and move on with his life. I would do the same in that situation...and then get some Molsons Canadian Lager to drown my sorrows. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif
  5. I thought you guys might want to know about this in case you ever run into one. This Truck was towed in with dead batteries due to a no charging concern and the cluster was also dead. found the cluster fuse which happened to be #45 in the CJB on this truck was blown, and would blow intermittently during parking maneuvers. The usual chafe points were ok, but upon further digging I found the Tow Haul switch wiring was rubbing on the shifter mechanism. Wiring repair fixed both concerns.
  6. Order Manuals here... Factory Service Manuals
  7. Here's some funny shit. It seems some state legislators have too much time on their hands... Virginia considers truck testicle ban Oklahoma all uptight about man bits I like the pictures in the articles /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hahaha.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif
  8. Wow, a remote start to fix a cold trans problem Brilliant /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif ~Sorry sir, the illustrious hotline instructed me to just cover up your symptom and not actually fix anything. I called the luke warm line a few years ago on a 6.0 no start concern. I remember the conversation vividly. They first told me to do a crankcase pressure test. HELLO ASSHOLE...I said it DOESN'T START, and as such, I can tell you with certainty that the current crankcase pressure is 0. Thanks for playing,-dork, want to put down your crossword puzzle and try again buddy? It went downhill from there /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/surprise.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/fouet3.gif
  9. Quote: for more information on where to find the online warranty cancellation request form, go to fmcdealer - Parts & Service tab - warranty administration and parts return (bottom of left column) - Warranty cancellation request form. I've done this a couple times. you can even upload digital photos to really make your case. It helps in expediting the process if you also call your FSE /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/fouet3.gif
  10. Larry means APP (accelerator pedal position sensor). TPS on an 03 - though present, is not used by the pcm until the 04.25 engines that actually have a throttle plate. I doubt the APP is the problem though because it consists of 3 redundant signals, and each one is quick to set trouble codes if a fault occurs. Also, if 2 or more of it's 3 internal sensors fail in coherency the truck will default to idle anyway, and that is not your symptom. I just was on the fmc message boards and there is a thread about a rash of defective reman turbo CRHM's which have binding unison ring rotating pivots. Did you replace the entire turbo or do the CHRM replacement per the new tsb? One idea for a test that I used to do...Remove the snap ring and cap to gain access to the internal turbo piston. Use a magnet to see if you can slide the piston back and forth relatively easily without binding. You can do this in the vehicle, and you should get approximately 1.5 inches of travel. This is the kind of "outside the box" testing that is sometimes necessary, but I agree with Jim, go through the proper Ford testing procedure first, sometimes "outside the box" thinking isn't necessary.
  11. Another thought...try swapping VGT control valve from a known good vehicle.
  12. Did your icp readings return to normal after your repairs? What is your IPR % under load? It sounds like you've checked a lot already, but I'm wondering if maybe you have a weak hp pump, or maybe an exhaust restriction. You may want to disconnect the exhaust downpipe from the cat and drive it. Also look in your old turbo to make sure the turbine wheel is still in it and not lodged in the downpipe.
  13. Wow, that's too bad. I used to watch American Hot Rod all the time. Boyd was a talented man. Blue Bear on the other hand reminds me of some of my co-workers.
  14. Thanks Tony, I agree /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  15. Well, since I work on quality products, I'd say my least used tool is my Chevy exhaust manifold spreader. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hahaha.gif
  16. Sounds like the customers aftermarket extended warranty is going to eat this, they had an inspector out today.
  17. I don't know yet, this could get interesting
  18. Well, I saw another problem with a 3.0 Duratec...though this one is from a failed Fram oil filter which came apart and plugged up an oil passage on the rear head with orange rubber chunks. I think there was a ssm or tsb about this.
  19. Oh cool, I learned something /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  20. Sometimes no, but in cases when I just want to know if my fuel pump is working it is convenient. Isn't the normal fuel pressure test port before the standpipe too?
  21. I like to use this custom fuel pressure test adapter because it is a lot quicker and easier than going after the test port-especially on a hot engine.
  22. Oh, I didn't mean "corporate bitch" as in actually being an employee of Ford Motor Company, I meant that he's a dealer tech who is a little too much of a "company man" if you know what I mean. Like some of the arrogant second Lieutenants in Nam who their entire platoon would swear were victims of "Charlie", but Like Jim said, look up wiener in the dictionary and you'll all understand the real reason why they never made it back home. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boink3.gif
  23. Well, there is one named Rick Harisson who has an overly big mouth and desperately needs his teeth kicked in. He works at some dealer in Washington, and was the corporate bitch who volunteered to do an in dealer time review on a 6.0 bedplate reseal. He was more worried about impressing the slts people than worrying about his own best interests. After Busting his ass to get his bedplate done in 11 hours, he had the balls to write a summary which Ford put on the Power Stroke Central page talking about how he was able to beat the book time by over an hour, and it included hand torquing all of the bolts and cleaning his stall afterward. I just hope he comes to Minnesota so I can clean something of his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif
  24. Great pics, Thanks /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
