nope none, it's a serious sausage fest around here.

check ebay for the HFCM. PFB-101 or 6C3Z-9G282-C, I found one for my truck for about $190 shipped

I don't evac the A/C on 6.4s. I have been on 6.7s though. both take me the same amount of time, I'm not as fast as you guys though, usually 2 1/2hr for both, I haven't done nearly as many.

Right side exhaust manifold removal
Matt Saunoras replied to Steve Mutter's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I use my mig to pull exhaust studs almost on a regular basis. I don't weld a nut though, I build the stud back up and get a 5/16 or 1/4 extractor over it and walk it out. It takes time to perfect but it works better than anything. I had some slag land in my shirt pocket last week too (stupid I know). I've got a nice burn about an inch away from my nipple right now. It burned through a bank receipt and 3 dollars I had in my pocket. I didn't tell you guys the story of how I got my 03 turbo. The short version is a good core was turned in with the rear bolt broken off. I pulled the bolt out with the mig and the turbo is on my truck as we speak. I bought a totally junk 03 core off a guy I know for $50 and handed that in to parts. -
05 couple injectors, balljoints, draglink, rear axle seal, filters. it's been a while since I had a gravy job. This thing has the HOTTEST 6.0 tune I've ever felt. It's still on what appears to be the stock bolts too.... yikes. I was honestly scared to run it too hard after having the high pressure system opened up. Usually a couple wot runs to clear the air out, not taking that chance with this thing.

I'm loving the old 6.0 tsbs long before I was a tech. I've always wanted to see the superceded turbo cleaning TSBs too. Thanks for the link!

I'm so burned out right now I can hardly bear the thought of going in tomorrow. This winter has been particularly bad, all I seem to do is sit around and think about work, it's totally engulfed my thoughts lately. I usually spend 10hrs a day there and when I'm not there something about it's always in the back of my mind. I'll start by saying that I'm young, probably the youngest on this board if you can't tell, and still very green in many of your eyes. Take that into consideration because you all know how hard it is to get started in this business when you're just thrown into it with no chance of this thing they used to call apprenticeship. I would never recommend any friends or even enemies get started in this business. Frankly I don't know how I made it, but after 5 years I don't know how to get out. I make good money so I must be worth something to someone but I still find myself struggling to make 40hrs a week while our other lead makes 55+. Do I do a lot of bullshit? yes. does my inexperience slow me down? absolutely. So why can't I come to terms with all of this and accept that this is the way that it has to be? Shop moral in a whole is about neutral. Obviously the guy turning hours is content. My moral would be higher if we didn't work in such a shithole. We seriously can only fit 4 trucks in the building at once.

done it, but I didn't get as far. I only got the engine mated up to the trans and sitting down on the mounts before I saw the ring. Then I proceeded to drop a convertor nut....
-
if it ricochets and gets you in the eye can you claim worker's comp?
-
No way I would ever make it back to a dealer if I managed to get out and still do what I want to do. The lure of great money is always tempting and that's why I'm where I'm at but that's all there is, money. Stress and aggravation nearly win over everyday but then it's time to leave anyways.

6.7L Glow Plugs
Matt Saunoras replied to Keith Browning's topic in 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Yeah there was a parts & service message about this maybe a week ago. I believe the change is mid year 2012. -
well I'm pulling another 4F27 out of a focus. Not a lot of metal in the pan but many gold sparkles suspended in the fluid. behind that is a F450 getting balljoints, a draglink and some maintenance.
-
Keith you can close or delete this thread now. I ended up finding a pedestal on ebay.
-
Haha, no they knew all about it. So far both of them love the car, I just hope it remains trouble free for a little while.
-
I'll be honest with you I want to run it to make sure it's good then sell it. used turbos go for about $400 and you should be able to get $500 with a pedestal.
-
The car is gone finally. The guy had his fiance pick it up, you should have seen the look on her face when she started it.
-
Well the compressor wheel is definitely larger so it should net a small increase in power. From what I've read it has a little different power curve, more low end per say. The main reason these things are desirable is the sound but you need to have a straight pipe or atleast a catback exhaust to really notice it. I agree, stock for stock you'd never know the difference, but don't 03s have an extra little muffler behind the downpipe? I will find out for sure though. If I hadn't stumbled across a good core turbo I wouldn't even consider it.
-
so how about the truck shop down the street just put a set of cats in a 07 F350 5.4.......no big deal right? How about they put it in, we generated a warranty repair order, and I was told to write a story about what went wrong with them and flag my time. Hmmm, yep that's the way we do shit around here.
-
mike I'd offer to buy just the pedestal off of you but shipping would probably be astronomical coming into the states. I might have one spoken for anyways, I will let you know. A guy on the org tried to jack me around on the price until I told him nevermind, I'm not interested. Then his tone changed a little.

I need an 03 pedestal. The one with the horizontal bolt on the rear. If anyone has one let me know Thanks

08 F350 6.4 blowing blue smoke after pull
Matt Saunoras replied to ablokzyl's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I've gotta go with the turbo thought too. Unfortunately sometimes it's literally impossible to tell which one is doing it. keep an eye on the oil level too even though it's not going to regen anymore -
yeah that was the stock catback. it was the only exhaust setup that car had where you could hear the blower whine over the exhaust. since then it's got headers, a glasspack, and 2 hooker maxflows. It's not too loud but much deeper and less tinny

4T65-E I think by 2001 the 4th gear clutch hub already had the hardened splines. The spare trans I have is a 4T65E-HD out of a 99 buick riviera. I had a hub with hardened splines ready to go in it along with a heavier drive chain, input shaft, output shaft and pump shaft. I was getting ready to buy a stall when I decided to give it up. I've since sold all those parts + the raybestos red clutches I had too.

God I wish I was still into cars like I used to be. Maybe someday I'll have a toy again.

nah they're not hollow or I would have made a camshaft lamp a long time ago. Even though the cam is a higher RPM cam the car still has way more torque that you can use on the street. It'll roast the tires going 35mph from the 3-2 shift. The boost is instant which made it weird getting into a 6.0 with a turbo. Everything trans is stock, the stock GT convertor was said to be comparable to a 3000 stall. I am mostly amazed at the fact the trans is all original in this car with the addition of a shift kit and some bumped pressures via the tune. It still shifts as good as the day I got it. Bolting on some slicks would have been the death of it and I actually still have a spare tranny in the garage for when that day came. I was getting ready to build up the trans with a bunch of hard parts but by that time I was losing interest fast. The limitations of the platform start to show themselves by this point
