  1. They give the run around on so much warranty shit now it's unbelievable, my 6.4 fuel system claim is only now getting paid for and they're still fighting the low pump(which doesn't even run). I'm glad the hotline is stepping up and defending us. Any major warr repair I always put a hotline in, whether I need their help or not. The mount with the trans has a shitload of bearing material in the pan after about 10 miles of driving. The fluid reflects more light than a disco ball. Hotline says do pressure check it, do a cost cap, regardless of the result put a unit in it. So I'm redoing that one. Only looked at one other vehicle today.... a 05 4.0 explorer with an obvious misfire. cust states it's overheating and they already changed the thermostat and waterpump. let's see.... it's smoking white out of the tailpipe and the degas is empty oh yeah and I found a wynn's warranty brochure suspiciously laying in the center console
  2. Seriously, you're preaching to the choir. I'm embarrassed to admit I was making 15/hr up until I said enough, I'm done That's flat rate too, it's not like I was cleaning house making 60hrs/week either. This was trans and diesel constantly. There is no gravy where I work I finally get paid a fair wage(over 33% increase) but it took me finding another job before they owned up and decided to pay what I've been worth. This business is truely fucked up. I am a recent asset grad and I can honestly see why no one wants to put up with this. Believe me, I am very soured over the situation
  3. fuckin tranny i just put in that mountaineer is junk call me crazy but I think it's bullshit I now have to diag and repair the fucking thing because ford can't put it together right
  4. suprisingly only 1 bolt on each vehicle, you know that's rare I'll allow 1 on each side before I do anything about them
  5. pulled 2 trannys today. finished one of those 5Rs, the other is a rust pile that's fighting me to death. back started hurting so I left for the day, lucky it's a friday
  6. craftsman is all I found that will work. mac brought me 2 different deep sockets even the cheaper version had a shoulder. all I have is snap-on stuff lucky the asset kid had a freaking craftsman socket
  7. what the hell? my guess is airport only and you're not even supposed to drive it on the street. look at the front bumper any emission controls on it? who roadtests it when you're finished?
  8. that's why I bought my own mig, the thing is a life saver. weld a booger to the end of the stud. while the weld is still soft hammer a extractor bit over the end. batting 1000 after figuring that out

  10. I'm going to have to go in sat to finish that damn expedition. I haven't touched it for more than an hour all week and now I'm swamped. Right now I'm in the middle of a 02 F450 with up-pipes and a center driveshaft u-joint + carrier bearing. tomorrow a 02 mount is on the schedule for a black box 5R

I have a fused harness I made that plugs right into the HFCM has 2 aligator clips and color coded wires for the battery terminals The other guy I work with accuses me of having too much time on my hands. I'll tell you what though, when you prime the fuel system before dropping the cab down it takes a lot less cranking to get the truck to run.
  12. I've never had one leak. Lately I've been exceeding the torque spec of 18 lb/ft by about 30 degrees of rotation. I always replace the caps with new ones and I always watch the washers to make sure they stay centered Call me crazy but 18 just doesn't feel tight to me
  13. doing a rh up-pipe/partial cab lift with couple of floor jacks. no bays available

  15. 05 expedition, injector hung, hydrolocked, bent rod The body's off right now. Never done a gas eng body off. I wish I would have known about the rear cab bolts btw that was pretty quick transition from nothing to do
  16. We had a prior approval go in today for a shortblock and it came back approved for a 6007 complete we were talking to the dealer engine sales guy and he said they don't have any 6.4 shortblocks in stock. anyone else hear about this?
  17. nothing. nothing in my bay, no carry overs for monday, nothing. I can't even remember the last time I was caught up, it's been months
  18. I'll be honest, I can't do cab off/on that fast without really moving. I don't like rushing shit like that, I'll end up missing something that'll cost me in the end Already had 2 claims with the new labor op. Lets just say i'm not even near 100% on diesel warranty
  19. Did a stc and dummys yesterday, started a 6.7 turbo today. The other tech hydrolocked a 6.4 in the parking lot and bent a rod Diesel work has been very steady lately, kinda out of the norm. We really don't have the room for it.
