  1. The hoses leaking causes low coolant levels which usually goes unmonitored because you never see any coolant on the ground. Low coolant level is what causes the thermal shock that take outs the rads.
  2. We suggested dropping in a 5L from one of the new Mustangs on the lot.
  3. How did you find it? Could have used that number a few weeks ago.
  4. We have done 3 exhaust systems for same issues. They set NOX related codes, but all we have removed have had evidence of cracked particle filters. It's a PITA getting approval based on NOX codes and getting paid for all the non SLTS diagnosis is no walk in the park either. Next one that comes in we are going to remove the tailpipe and have a peek in the back of that bad boy, then it will be presented as soot in tailpipe, so much easier to get approval for a cracked DPF.

  6. The dealer can still get in trouble then, they are not allowed to contact employees of other dealerships for this purpose. Didn't realise she was a recruiter.
  7. Holy crap, that is low pay. Unless they have a bonus structure to offset the cost of living. How are they contacting you guys? BTW, she can get into a lot of trouble if someone snitches to Ford Canada about that.
  8. Jeff, make sure you have pop-up blocker turned off, all links open new windows.
  9. Now I have 2 store bought D-Link's and they work great. I can even switch USB ports and it will reconnect in under 10 seconds. Only thing we can think of is Ford is buying low quality N150 dongles. The ones we get are N300.
  10. You can get the DLC pigtails from Ford. Any of the ones we have here would need new wires, as the ends spread from the vehicle monitors they have plugged in. Boneyard DLC's might have the same issue, or corroded ends.
  11. I had purchased a truck that had the front door windows tinted. Got 2 tickets, and this was over 20 years ago, and still left the tint on. The incident that made me remove it was almost getting hit by a train on a crossing with no lights, at night time. Didn't even see it coming. Almost crapped my pants too.
  12. The best part was his RANT about sub-standard service on his 7.3L that his wife was driving. He gets up close and personal with the camera and gets all "THAT JUST PISSES ME OFF". Too funny.
  13. You sir, are a....BUBBLE BURSTER I have done 3 engines so far, all cab on. I have also come in just under the TSB times. I honestly don't see an issue with the times.Anyone else notice that these things like to stick on the right trany dowel. On #4 and I have had to use a prybar on all of them.
  14. Sometimes you have to shake your head at some of these. I remember a 6.4L that came in for exhaust leak and no brakes. The DOC pipe broke and the heat melted the master cylinder res. And they drove it here to boot.
  15. Never did check wave form but it did fix the concern.
  16. Not to burst your bubble, but the book states it can be done cab on. They only recommend and pay for cab off. The 6.4L is the same way. If you look at Mitchell, most cab on procedures pays less than cab off.
  17. It's even funnier if you have watched the videos.
  18. Here is what the WSM has to say about EDOC on the 6.4L: The EGR-OC pipe transports exhaust gases to the EGR coolers. The EGR-OC pipe contains a honeycomb filter with a catalyst. The catalyst keeps the EGR coolers clean by removing heavy chain hydrocarbons or soluble organic fraction from the exhaust gas stream. I also believe the regen process cleans it out as well. So with that said, putting one of these in the EGR supply tube of the 6.7L will work fine until it gets clogged because the right bank is not used for regen fuel supply.
  19. Running into some "new shop blues" The airlines are some fancy new PCV with quick compression fittings, almost the same as the new water supply lines they put in new houses. Well 2 of the end fittings that we attach our hoses to have blown off the pipe. One tech was hit in the arm with it. From the looks of the fittings I think they are supposed to be attached to something, not just hanging off the tube.
  20. You are never going to guess what happened last week. My exhaust fan quit again. Still waiting for someone to come in and look at it.
  21. You could have 3 problems there. I would address the regen issue first. If you can post some mileage and hour readings we may be able to scrounge up some more info.
  22. One more 6.4L for bed plates, this one is a 2008 with 42,000 KM.
  23. That all depends on how fast you can have the cooling stack out. I haven't noticed a whole lot of time difference. It just helps you out when you are stuck not lifting the cab. IMO
