  1. I dropped the carrier out of the diff to reseal it. I’m a little confused.... I was told that all the F-series came with 9” back in these years. But according to the tag it’s an 8.7”??? If I look up the part number off the tag it says it’s a 9”.
  2. Mine grabbed it and went. I did get a windows firewall pop-up that I had to click allow on.
  3. According to my fse it will work on 15 and newer F150’s and 17 and newer escapes. So there are ways to make sure yours is working properly without waiting for an expedition, navigator or ecosport. My biggest concern at the moment is how bad is it gonna run on a slower processor (still an I5) and an old school non ssd drive.
  4. Found out that the cd was getting jambed on the top of the slot in the fcim. I was able to reach in with a pocket screwdriver and pop it loose, hit the eject button again and it would spit the disc out. Replacing the fcim seems to have taken care of it.
  5. Bolting brackets on frames has been widely accepted in both the automotive and heavy truck repair industries for decades. I have a friend who shortens and legnthens truck frames as part of his buisness. He bolts stuff instead of riviting. And he is very very strict by the book.
  6. We have a local hotel that has a F-550 cube truck that only reads 150 miles to e with a full tank because it doesn't go far and idles forever. Thankfully it's a gas in it.
  7. We all bolt on shackle mounts and front spring towers on the early 90's f 150's and rangers. Just saying.
  8. I fully agree with that. I got to talk to one of the techs where I work now before I was hired. They gave me the tour and introduced me to him since we were standing right there talking anyway. Then I ran into him at the local training center a few weeks later. And we had a discussion about working there.
  9. Hmm I'll have to look. I did have some issues using the vcmm for vibration analyzer after the update. I had to load new version of the program on my pc.
  10. I'm almost jealous. That's the kind of stuff I get to do on the weekends at what I refer to as "Second Shift". It's making it harder and harder to keep coming into the circus during the week.
  11. I got an International rollback that someone was undoing a delete on it and the broke one of the bolts that holds the egr valve in. I worked on it for 2 1/2 hours today. There is some sticking out. I can grab onto it, but the stupid thing won't turn no matter how much heat I pour into it. Of course it's aluminum too.
  12. Everything else may have been replaced previously. I don't know that people are replacing the fuel pickup for gas getting put in. I have never had one with gas personally but I would have never gave it a thought.
  13. If you find someone who does hydralic fittings they make awesome crimps on battery cables. Or you can buy a portable hydralic crimper. I have one and it does a nice job. https://temcoindustrial.com/temco-hydraulic-cable-lug-crimper-th0006-5-us-ton-12-awg-to-00-awg.html
  14. I bought one of these a couple years ago. I've used it a couple times and it works really well. https://temcoindustrial.com/temco-hydraulic-cable-lug-crimper-th0006-5-us-ton-12-awg-to-00-awg.html
  15. I got a reman 6.0 in a F550 cube truck with a junk lifter that wrecked the oil pump. Of course it's under warranty yet.
  16. And I ran the cd in and out a handful of times before I put the dash back together all the way. Including ejecting it and forgetting to grab it and letting it pull it back in. And it work flawlessly.
  17. I got a friend with a 16 Edge. Once in a while the cd player will not fully eject the disc. This is the second time it has happened in 11,000 miles. The first time we warrantied the acm. When I removed the fcim to gain access to the acm I find the disc hanging half out of the acm. I took it apart the second time tonight and found the exact same thing. They were 2 different cd's and both were store bought traditional round discs. The acm was at the latest level both before it was replaced and afterwards (there is an ssm for a reflash). Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  18. The local ace hardware store has it on the roll. Not sure how well it holds up to fuel. Otherwise I can buy a blue colored see through line that is made for snowmobile carbs.
  19. I'm only 4 years older than you and I have one in my box. Slacker.
  20. I inherited a check engine light on a 15 sho that was in escelation at another dealer before the guy got fed up, traded the car and the dealer shipped it to auction. Good news for my dealership is it's still under warranty.
  21. Wow. That pretty much sums it up.
