  1. Yeah Keith , the 2 upper bolts were gone, the 2 lowers broken. Funny thing is I didn't even notice the impeller until I had the blower on the bench. There was also a bind in the shaft. Whatever pics you want to take, be my guest. Got the wife a Canon digital for Christmas, but what the hell, I may as well use it too. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  2. This is from a '99 F-350 Nice truck on the outside, engine bay was completely oil soaked. Surprisingly the engine ran good except for the low power.
  3. These pictures are of the spilt turbo I started a thread about last week. 134,000 miles on vehicle, poor maintainence,K&N filter that was damaged. It is obvious that something got past the filter and injested. Gotta love it!
  4. I do remember the Naistar engineer I worked with saying that the EGR cooler would be set off the engine, but it seems to me that it wo, oh never mind, I'm not even going to try and guess! Just as long as I know what it is when it rolls through the door. As far as the truck, how about the very pronounced front fenders. Possibly moving even closer to the Tonka concept? It is pretty obvious Ford is trying to hide the front and rear. Reminds me of spy photos of the '94 Mustang back in '92-'93 where Ford grafted '94 prototype front ends on the '93. Hmmmmm. I do like the 150 style dash. Happy New Year! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  5. Yep, what Keith said. Welcome to the world of Ford diesel
  6. What are the odds? Yesterday I got 2 '99 350s,low power, both with missing and broken hardware. Both over 100,000 miles. Sold one. I got the guy's miserable life story with the other one. Like I would feel sorry for him and fix his truck for free, I don't get it I should have bought a lotto ticket yesterday! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif
  7. Come on Jim, you know why. The stock filter don't make that cool suckin' sound! You know the type, "Ifn it sounds good, must be good"
  8. I haven't bothered going on any of the other sites, because I have a tendency to speak my mind, and most people can't deal with it. I mean, what the hell do I know about Ford diesels! I have only been doing this since the 6.9L I have been spending free time lately ridin' and moddin' my '02 Indian Chief, and spending time on the Indian motorcycle comm. forums, and believe me, it is a crew that knows how to laugh, even when we rank on each other. Happy New Year!
  9. Sarge, I could not find a link between the fuse you replaced and the truck not starting, maybe one of the other guys can see something I'm not. There isn't a TSB for the harness, it is a recall, and if you go back to Keith's last post[Ford Doctor] he made the info a direct link, just click on them, and you will have all the info you need. Keep us informed on this rig, if this happens again, retrieve any and all DTCs, and post them for us,also don't clear anything. We'll help you out. Be Safe! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  10. Besides 10"s of snow I will now have to go home and clean up, I replaced a sticking turbo with one that does not work at all! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif Thanks so much FoMoCo /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/drinkingdude.gif
  11. Boy Keith you just want everything now, huh! I am guessing we'll get NMT and thats it, I could be wrong, but this company has a way of doing things backwards. I'm figuring that Ford will think if we are diesel certified and qualified, we'll be able to fix the '07 w/o any help from them. You have a valid point, but where as the LCF is a niche market vehicle, the Super Duty is used by every Tom,Dick, and Harry,oh,and can't forget Jane. It is a dealer's bread and butter. Here is hoping we will get training before the model launch! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  12. Sarge, what were the DTCs you retrieved? to a certain extent oil in the CAC[cold air charge] tubes is normal. If it is excessive, then the engine has other concerns, which could be as simple as a plugged air filter. Did this engine stall and not restart, or just not start after a normal shut down? A little more info could be helpful. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  13. Welcome aboard, let us know what you find out, we will certainly help in any way we can. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
  14. Again with the half truths! If the customer's FSE told him that, the yutz needs to be fired! Nowhere does it say that the sticking vanes causes the headgaskets to blow, nor do I believe Ford would ever say that, they however are correct in their asessment of the cause of the sticking vanes. In 2 years the only turbos I have had to replace[approx 25]due to this issue have been on the Sunday go to church trucks with all the H-D, and my kid was an honor student stickers on them. Wait, there was one other, a municapal owned 550 that the local raggies let idle incessently, to the tune of 5-6 hrs a day. The clock said 8,200 miles, but it was probably more like 32,000 miles. BTW, I have yet to replace a set of gaskets on a motor that had a sticking actuator, or that was properly maintained, and not "chipped","tuned",or otherwise "fucked" with. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif
  15. I guess I was equating more atomization with a leaner mixture in order to produce less emissions,[lean is good, to lean is no good] then an increase in duty cycle to inject enough fuel to produce power. Excellent observations, and your right , it's a vicious cycle.
  16. I can't remember exactly, but isn't a bar equal to an atmosphere which would be 14.7 psi? At 2200 bar that would be 32,340 psi. Aren't we already approaching those kinds of pressures at the nozzle? Also seems to me that the more the fuel is atomized in an effort to reduce emmissions the more times injection would be required to produce equal amounts of power. I'm sorry, I'm thinking out loud, and I'm probably wrong.
  17. Some already have. Dual stage turbos? sound familiar?Common rail injection, and you gotta believe the big boys are already experimenting with PE injectors. It's only a matter of time boys.
  18. SSM 18901. Am I to understand that as of 5-16-05 the diesels no longer have a fuel heater, or am I not reading the message correctly? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif

  20. The moron answers his own question. The guys on the Indian site I frequent would have a field day with this!My buddy owns the local speed shop, and after many horror stories from me,and I'm sure FordMasterTech, he has stoped selling the tuners for the 6.0L,because before it comes to us it goes to him, and everyone wants to know why their engine blew etc, etc. Thanks for the site Keith!
