I'll look into that, thanks! What we ended up doing was ordering a 7L2Z-12A581-BA. It's for a 2007 Explorer, but it has the connector I'm after. Keith, We've already run our salvage yards dry of this part.

This a game-changer. Now it's not a question of should I spend $10,000.00 now or maybe later, but should I spend $10,000.00 now or maybe spend $15,000.00 later. I don't know the exact costs, but I do know to replace the fuel system is $8000.00 just in parts. I advised my service writer and I'm not the tech working on it so we'll see what happens.

Oh I see, that makes sense. I didn't really think of that aspect.

I'm replacing the transmission on a 2005 Explorer with a 5R55S and the solinoid body connector is stuck in the transmission. My parst department is telling me that not only do I have to get an entire harness, but that is obsolete. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? Maybe an aftermarket connector? Thanks!

The vehicle was driven. Has anyone been sucessful with just flushing the fuel system on a 6.7L?
-
What have been the experiences with 6.7l's mistakenly run on gasoline? I've got a customer that realized the mistake, had the fuel drained, and is a little hesitant to arbitrarily have me replace the entire fuel system.

I like it! I've made this and it's really good. I'll also stuff a chicken breast with spinach and cheese and wrap the whole thing in bacon.

I'm lucky if I break even. I can make time on 6f35s and 4r70w's though. I'm really thourough and I have a very high sucess rate so I would rather loose a little bit of time and only take the trans apart once. I have to say that transmissions are like the final frontier for me in this business so I really do enjoy doing them.

Yes, manual regen works. I don't know about the DPF load pid.

I put the truck back together and went for a road test. After three miles I got some white smoke but it completely stopped. I contacted hotline and this is what they had to say: If there are no concerns identified with the EGR coolers, then it may indicate that there is a concern with regeneration. It is recommended to obtain the DIST_REGEN_C and DIST_REGEN_REQ to see if the vehicle is completing regenerations. If the DIST_REGEN_C is close too or above 667 miles, then it would indicate that the vehicle is not being driven in a manner to complete regeneration. This can cause the intermittent white smoke to be present. If that is the case regeneration will need to be performed so that the DIST_REGEN_C and DIST_REGEN_REQ are reset to zero. Well my DIST_REGEN_C was 867 and my DIST_REGEN_REQ was at zero. So basically this thing isn’t able to complete regen and that’s why I’m getting intermittent smoke.

Yeah, I did this too. There was hardly any oil/water in the lower CAC tube. I pressure tested the cooling system, loosened the EGR cooler nuts where the two coolers meet and I didn't see any coolant leak out. If I put a mirror to the EGRT2 hole when I was pressure testing the cooling system it did steam up the mirror, but when I started the truck there wasn’t any coolant coming out of that hole.

I really hate that. Once I spent years dealing with a Ford Probe with an engine noise that some other tech did a TSB for a cam gear that would take care of this noise. FINALLY I took the thing apart to re-replace the cam gearand fixed the car. The thermostat seals were coming apart and they were most definately original.

I’m working on a 2008 F350 with a 6.4L. The customer’s concern is smoke from exhaust. The smoke happens after the vehicle is warmed up on medium-hard accel. I performed EEC testing-no DTC's, fuel system test-PASS, relative compression test-cyl #3,#6 down 1%. I checked the oil level-overfilled just over the plastic indicator when 'short-sticked' which is pretty much normal. The coolant level is low-maybe 1/2 gallon, but the upper hose appears to be leaking a little bit. I removed the turbo down-pipe and don't see any trace of oil in the pipe. I noticed crust on the EGRT2, removed the sensor, found that it was covered in soot but had some moisture on it. The moisture dried in a short time and was NOT white in color. There may have been a blue tint to the smoke; it’s hard for me to tell. I’m thinking I either have a turbocharger that’s leaking or an EGR cooler leaking. Any recommendations on how I should proceed? Thanks in advance!

I've got one right now that our Quick Lane did fuel filters and it has the noise. The noise DID go away aftger I replaced the secondary filter, but after doing a really good inspection I noticed that they over-tightened the primary fuel filter cap. After idling for 10 minutes the noise started to come back again. I have had other ones where replacing the secondary filter took cake of it and one where replacing the O-ring for the primary filter fixed it. As many fuel filters I've done on these I've never had a problem. All the ones that come in with a noise were recently in our Quick Lane. Not to hijack a thread but I think Quick Lane does more damage than good.

You'never guess what I found when I took the thermostat housing off... The ORIGINAL thermostats. There is NO WAY they were JUST replaced.
-
The Tstats were JUST replaced, so I think it might be worth taking a look.
-
I guess it goes into a failsafe mode. I set him up with a flight recorder and he's going to return. How can I tell if I've got a plugged oil cooler, is it like on a 6.0L?
-
Interesting... I've got one right now with that DTC. The pinpoint test leads right to the thermostat, but the thermostat was JUST replaced at another Ford dealer. Will this DTC cause a lack of power and a wrench light?
-
I liked the fact that I didn't have ATF on the floor along with coolant. Coolant alone is much easier to clean up in my opinion.
-
Piece og cake, I think it was easier than a 6.4L radiator!
-
Here we go, I'm starting my first 6.7 radiator right now. I'll do as you guys say, just like a 6.4L.

6.4 cab on fuel injection pump replacement
Mekanik replied to Robertg1970's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
What about a partial cab lift and leaving the turbo's in place? I've got one to do this week. -
Great info and I appreciate the links. Hearing that they stand behind their product is something I really like about it. I hate to say this, but I really don't buy anything from tool guys anymore. I can get almost anything online for cheaper than what THEY can get it for. Besides, it's not like they still show up every week.

6L injector nipple OIL RAIL o-ring kit and tool
Mekanik replied to Frank_Edging's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Well if YOU do it with the snap ring in place, then I don't feel so bad! -
I'm a little scared because it's supposed to replace the Econoline right? What diesel engine will be in it?
