We have a F250 6.0 torqueshift that stalls only when put in reverse, We disconnected the backup light switch and truck runs. Could this be one of those shitty wire harness problems we keep seeing? Switch tests good,no codes set. The tech didn't give me much info to go on...

I would have him call Cust. Service on them just because... It might give them something to think about when their DSM contacts the DP about it. Good people should never be treated like that anytime... -

Quote: Did he call Ford Customer assistance? I would insist strongly that he contact the 1-800-IM-PISSED # with names of the individuals he was dealing with. If Ford Cust service won't help have it towed here I have some contacts in metro Detroit that will get it done!!! When I hear these types of stories it makes me want to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/puke.gif -
Anybody have Ford or Nav. part# for the CHRA. I can probably get these direct for less.

Don, Aaron sent me a p/m that he was going to start there recently. Has he? If you guy's need anything I can save you some time and money being about 10-15 minutes from the border now. I deal with Bogar Truck parts and Expressway trucks about 3-4 times a day. Bill at Bogar and Mike at Expressway good guy's both of them look them up they will help big time just tell them Larry told you to call. As well as calling Weller Truck parts 800-473-1905 ask for Tim and tell him I sent you. He'll take good care of you. But don't forget about me in the end I drink Crown. -
Nope 99 7.3 I think the shop is crazy for even trying to do this? I think the cam is walking.

Funny we should be discussing this right now. I have a customer that's working on Capacity switcher's(yarddog) ISB HPCR he has been thru numerous injectors, he just brought in a fuel sample in a gallon jug. The fuel has a large block of ice at the bottom and the fuel looks like Elsie the cow just sprung a leak. It doesn't even look like diesel, more like gas but smells a little like 911.

I just figured it out....They are trying a band aid fix, the cam has severe wear and is hitting the cmp. I told them it was a bad idea to try to shim it, but what do I know. I'll just sit back and wait for it to come back on the hook.

Quote: You talking to me? You talking to me? Nah not you but good guess, does the old CURMUDGEON ring a bell?
-
Perplexing question for you guy's. My service supervisor just came up and asked for a CMP shim. I thought that the new style CMP's didn't require a shim??? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif

Just read this article, I can't to see all of the TREE HUGGERS that get on the bandwagon for this one. http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/science/01/23/biofuels.fears.ap/index.html?eref=ib_technology

Keep doing what you do!!!! If you can sleep at night then I would say your doing it correctly. Don't comprimise quality work for shoddy quantity. As for venting we all do at sometime, some more than other's I won't mention any names....It's good for your well being.

Anything you need just call. By the way I was screwing around and came across this site. Check out the huge /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gifHP on these engines, a far cry from what we have now. http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Diesels.htm

I think you guy's should look at a I-beam across the shop and have at least a chain fall but better yet a electric hoist mounted to the I-beam, we have this on our loading dock, warehouse, fuel room and the clean up room. We have them everywhere... It works...

This cant be just our shop seeing this
LARRY BRUDZYNSKI replied to Tony302600's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Showed this thread to my fuel guy today, he confirmed that the combustion gas getting by contaminated the rest of the injectors and make sure the rail was clean before reassembling. Mity vac is a cool thought but won't show whats down the line in the system. He did tell me he has had some luck flushing the injectors on his test stand but it's only 50/50 that it will work. Crap shoot at best... I say replace them the first time and be done.
