  1. I agree with ya on that and doing something that presents a challenge and a lot of hurtles makes succeeding much more rewarding. I do think Bruce has a good point about it being too much engine for the truck though and if this truck is going to be a daily driver are you afraid of this thing ripping the truck to pieces? It would make an awesome show truck all painted up and real nice like
  2. It is things like this that make life interesting and sometimes fun but there is always some ass out there that has to get offended and sick the police on your ass. I dont see a group mooning as a lude act but that is just me opinion /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif Mooning the Ford warranty department now that is hilarious
  3. Quote: PUBLICATIONS ARE BEING UPDATED TO REFLECT THIS I don't remember seeing it printed anywhere that we are supposed to automatically replace the pump if the IPR is damaged, I think I read it here though Was this a Hotline recommendation?
  4. I spray them down too but I had one that was still a bitch to get out had to resort to brutality. Never thought to torch it
  5. WOW! Great picture. I havent seen that before but how the hell did somebody miss that????
  6. Yeah I discovered the steel bracket works good as a tool too. Had the same problem with the plastic tool you get. The fitting turns a little when torquing I guess an old bracket should go on that home made tools list
  7. It's all well and good, but time will tell if it will get used, How will Ford ever know if the guided diagnostics is actually being used and whether it is effective? I care about my job and my career so I am going to put my best into training and whatever else to stay on top of things but do I really need an interactive manual. no. As it is I find myself asking whether the pp test i am on makes sense before proceeding. Maybe I will try it a few times before deciding.
  8. I wonder what base engine mods they performed or at least I hope they did like head studs. Do the bottom ends of these things hold up to the powewr some of these guys are getting out of these engines???
  9. I havent had my balls broken by Ford yet but for a while they were asking a lot of questions and asking to fax the front and back of tickets and sometimes ask why replaced this part or that part
  10. I came across one of those oil filters with the top peice that sticks in the cap and whoever put the new filter in just fammed the lid on crushing the filter. The truck still ran though. I have also seen stock fuel filters on the engine leave behind the gutsa and ahave a n ew filter jammed over that too. Start looking inside those housings and sometimes you find orings and plastic peices
  11. I would be worried about my boss seeing me listed online and thinking I am bailing and blow me out. Some places might be like that I guess it depends on if they use the internet to find techs. Do a lot of dealers do that?
  12. The intention is to save the planet not oil It is kinda ironic that we are burning more fuel in these engines to produce less emissions
  13. Personally I dont think stupididty should be covered bye warranty or insurance Any normal person knows that cars tell you when something is wrong and that you should know to stop the car
  14. is this the EP sensor on the left manifold or the DPFP on the DOC/DPF?
  15. Dude that thakes balls! I hope the owner continues to research this becuz I have a feeling he is going to revisit this failure again. no knock on you but reusing headgaskets? I hope this was the owners choice and talk about buyer beware
  16. I found this on Yahoo and thought I would post it but I see you guys already are discussing it. Not sure it is the same car but it looks to be the current or prior Fiesta model that is doing very well in europe http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/car-reviews/car-and-driving/ford-fiesta-1.4-tdci-range-1003311.html
  17. I am curious if any takers of these sign on bounses ended up hating the job and felt trapped in hell once there. Nothing like a big as life sucker punch eh?
  18. You are going to hate me for this but did it occur to you that the nut on the other end of the shock is the same thread? N620483.S301 is the part number
  19. Are you getting an engine for this or will you be repairing it? I am curious what the cost cap is on the 6.4
  20. This makes me think that there must have been a lot of repeat EGR concerns after cleaning the valve. I know I have been bitten a few times. That EGR test is not fool proof but at least its quick and it forces the tesing of the sensors and valve movement that I am sure a lot of guys are skipping or dont know how to test
  21. I got one of those tools off the RTTP site for about 50 bucks earlier in the year but mine is red. Yes it has the lock on the handle and I useit all the time now LOVE IT!!!
  22. Sounds promising. This coming from the people that cant get FMC dealer to behave in IE-7? Anybody try Firefox?
  23. Moo hoo hoo haaaaaaa! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif I hear the first one sucks!
  24. The comments about the biodiesel reminds me that we have never really discussed bio here unless I missed the post. Itsh hard to find any accurate informationand Ford tells us nothing other than no more than B5 is acceptable.
  25. Are you telling is this because you had a bad experience with the turbo position tool? Good thing fuel testing cant be done in the field otherwise we might be taking samples like random drug testing! I have never noticed any difference when using the cetane booster in the trucks.
