  1. WORK with YOU? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_crazy.gif NEVER!!! but you do make awesome chicken wings my friend /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif
  2. Wow thats outa control. Now, if somebody could develop a small compression ignition engine that would fit on a moped type of a bike and make it run on bio then I would be impressed Somehting like that could be good for congested city commuting ot local scooting about!
  3. I beleive the newest rumor bout this came out with one of these articles on the rumored 6.7L and a 4.4L for the 150/250/expedition http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6097&page=2#Post6097
  4. Remember that really geat water separator tucked in the left rear corner of the engine compartment that usually let air into the system? I think they all were bypassed at some point. I know Eveery one I see has been. all that water headed straight for the pump
  5. I was in our retail parts are and saw the additive bottles say NEW FORMULA on them.
  6. 450th reflash /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif now that you mention it I think you are right. I have a van that has a high pressure leak that needed help staring. I let it run a couple hours at idle with the IPR at 85% the last I checked. It stalled afer goosing the throttle. Still no code but I can hear the branch tube rattling against the rear enginee cover
  7. Dwayne I read many times that a lubricity package is added to the fuel at the refinery and that adding a lubricity improver is not necessary at all. If I recall it is the process that removes the sulfur that strips away the lubricity more than the sulfur itself. Apparently the sulfur acts as a lubricant to some degree. I also know that the ULSD fuel has a slightly lower thermal energy content and can cause a minor hit on economy. The loss was some ridiculous number like one half of one percent. This leads us to the performance enhancers like cetane boosters which are always a good idea now with cooled EGR engines. The only thing about the older engines I thought was compatibility issues with some seals. Maybe? I know a lot of independents see stuff like that and would know better than us dealer guys working on predominantly newer stuff.
  8. Are you sure the cylinder is filling with fuel and not coolant? Sometimes its hard to tell the difference with this gold coolant
  9. I noticed that someone has been posting the Ford Q & A on air filters on several other forums. My amazement continues. I see Doc and Jim making posts that seem to be born from experience but much of anything else seems to be bashing and it comes from both sides of the fence too.
  10. Thanx Alex, the truck has not shown up so I have no story to tell yet. It was supposed to be in this past week but never showed. I guess township trucks arent treaded with as much priority as personal trucks are. This is going to be an after warranty adjustment repair soo I could care less if it never shows. Wayyy out of warranty and rusted up nicely. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif
  11. Just the very thought of this makes me want to puke. I hope this turns out to be a rare failure and something other than head gaskets. We really need this sucker to hold together!
  12. Alex, I have a 2000 Super Duty coming in and I am considering doing the pan in chassis. Any truck with an rottedout oil pan usually is a rust bucket and the nuts and bolts on everything else usually rounds off or breaks so it might be good to try not disturbing anything if i can help it. Other than removing the turbo and fan shroud do you have any advice or pointers or is this a straight forward as it seems?
  13. So eric what was the outcome? I just finished a 99 350 that took 8 injectors. truck is used to land a boat and it apparently gets water in the fuel tank. After cutting off the straps because of rust we cleaned out the tank and looked at the pickup tube. the screen on the bottom was loose but it was there. The fuel heater was rotting away and there was a lot of rust in the bottom of the filter housing which we also replaced. You would think these trucks would run bad whilethey run water through the system. so much for regular water draining
  14. Thanks for the heads up Greg I see there is a SSM too. I applaud Ford for their efforts in making trhe process easier. You probably cant hear me because I am clapping with one hand.
  15. That would be way too easy and would have been a smart option to add. You might say that it would have been one of Fords notorious better ideas.
  16. You can say that again! I wonder who is payin for this reflash, Ford or International? Wouldnt want to end up in court over something like this! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif
  17. Hey! Where do we connect the bottle of flush to? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
  18. On Exploders I have seen these cut bad whre you had to stand on the pedal just to get the truck to slow down. No stoppie but lots o smokie! Saw one truck that the rotor turned a brownish blue color. Amazing houw you can over heat the surface and not have any stopping power. scary !@#!?$!!
  19. And I was under the impression that CAT engines were GOOD! Is this not the case? You would think that with the 6.0 on the market that anything would be better. I really dont see medium trucks so I am just curoius If it aint a CAT its a DOG! ...or something. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif
  20. I have been hearing that the new engine gets worse fuel mileage than the 6.0 but nobody hasgiven any real numbers I know Ford doesent put them on the window stickers. Anybody know of any REAL numbers?
  21. The part numbers are different but the 4.5 and 6.0 fuel filters appear to be identical. The mold numbers match even though the part number is printed on and I sized them up. Anyone know if there are different specs on these?
  22. I don't think this is a new problem either. If I recall I had one (was a security vehicle by coincidence) that the harness was routed in such a way that if you put your foot next to the kick panel and pressed down it pulled the harness down and off the switch. The truck was towed in three times and all three times the harness was off. we finally charged them and amazingly we never saw the truck again! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif
  23. I have finally used it a few times now and it really is stupid easy. Maybe it will help Stupid fix a few trucks. I seem to be seeing fewer clogged valves now than I used to does anyone else think this? Seemed like for a while all I was doing was cleaning valves for low power concrns and EGR codes
