  1. I was able to get this screenshot after about the 4th try.
  2. 2003 F-250 with 157,000 miles has no power, step on the gas and almost comes to a stop. Checked all the usual suspects and found IPR asking for 85% yet ICP drops down instead of going up. Put in my known good IPR with no change. I decided to see what the pump could do. With the system deadheaded at the injector oil rails and the IPR jumped to battery voltage, the ICP takes about 4 seconds to hit 4000 PSI. The ICP also takes a long lazy curve up to said 4K as if the the injectors had been out and the system had air in it. It seems to me the pump is showing signs of wear and causing my low power. All the deadheads prior to this one would jump to 4k immediately but I think they were all 2005's and up with the different pump. Any thoughts on this?
  3. Put a little BG Fridgy-Fresh in there, it'll clear that right out.
  4. This is from the shop manual under camshaft R&R. This is as close as I could find to Ford saying "interference" without saying "interference". Show them these photos of a 2 valve that was only 3 teeth out of time, that'll shut em up. http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/topic/3316-the-perfect-storm/
  5. We do a ton of them here for that noise, they get the whole rotor and bearing as an assembly.
  6. I asked our tranny guy and got the strangest look to date. Now he thinks I hang out with a bunch a weirdo's. .
  7. Interference engine, no need to plead your case any further to the owner. Engine rotating + cam not rotating = mangled parts deep inside.
  8. Worked on 1 vehicle today. It wasn't til after lunch and it was a used car inspection on a 2010 F150. <blows raspberries>
  9. The document shows an effective date of Feb 1st, but I'm sure there is a grace period.
  10. OK you're........ CRAZY Does that work for ya?
  11. Kinda slow and reviewing things we need to know, found this interesting:
  12. I recommend scrapping the truck before I do a branch tube!

  14. You guys are going to love this reply. I am senior master certified in both gas and diesel, hybrid and alternative fuel also. None of these certifications mean anything to me and I could care less if I had them or not. Actions speak louder than printed paper and my income reflects what I can do and not what I have on the wall in the service lane. I am inherently lazy and I would have never got any of the certifications except for the fact that Ford started demanding it. This is why I have A1-A9, T2 T6 L1 and L2 also. I did however decide to push for senior master when I found out that the cruise was going away. I was going to end up with all the certs to stay in the game so might as well get something out of it. I cant speak for Canadia but in the States top pay is reflected by the shops labor rate and what the area can support. In 2004 I was offered $30 by a dealer in the Florida Keys with $2500 for moving expenses. In 2003 I was at $20 when I moved to Vermont. The area couldn't support anymore at the time, meanwhile the dealer I left was moving guys up to $26. I currently work in the poorest part of North Carolina, I mean shit is bad here. And I will tell you that I am working for less money than I have ever worked for in my entire life. I have squeezed them for every thing I can and it's still peanuts compared to what I made in the sticks in Vermont. I bought a house so I can't just pack up and I am toughing out at the moment. Take a look at your labor rate, if it is over $100 bucks and work is stacked up like cord wood, then you can command a pretty healthy raise if you are working for less than what you think you should.
  15. Has the cab been off? If so are all the connectors fully seated?
  16. Back in the day Marvel Mystery oil was employed to coat all the important bits.
  17. I thought I had put this document in here some where but I can't find it. This may be a reload. 60 stalls.pdf
  18. Oil rail nipple orings and inj. top orings.
  19. I was going to mention an exhaust valve sticking/binding in the head, kinda like the lot rot syndrome, but it sounds like this truck gets driven regularly.
