  1. Never seen any good Powerstroke engine below 400 psi and I am in the mountains! If it don't hit 400 psi in my bay then there is cause for concern.
  2. Eh, not too much snow last night. This is my Honda Accord I do the commute thing in. My son had to get his Jeep towed out of a ditch last night due to the weather event.
  3. Yeah, it done snowed here Thursday night, ruined my weekend motorbike ride! Two of our competing ski resorts are actually opening this weekend with a couple of trails open. I gotta move.....SOUTH.
  4. I can’t help but think that Powerstrokes can sometimes be a customer relations nightmare. This fellow brings his truck to the shop for service it is equipped with a 6.4 liter power plant. The owner simply requests an oil change and fuel filter replacement. After the service is performed the truck will not start. The source of the problem is determined to be a inoperative fuel pump. The pump hasn’t been working for who knows how long and when the filters were removed the fuel system lost its prime. Now the service department has to explain this to the person who only understands that his truck was running fine and he drove it to the shop and now he can’t drive it home. I liken the situation to trying to up sell a battery. I imagine it is a tough to sell someone a battery when they drove the car to the shop without any issues, eh? Like I said, I’m glad I’m not a service asvisor.
  5. Quote: anyone know where i can find printed information about body companys must not wire threw the cab because of cab removal Now that's funny. Them guys are going to do what ever they want to get the job done.
  6. A couple of cases of this stuff and it will be good as new.
  7. Does that mean we are going to have to work on Mercedes now?
  8. Pfft....out parts department tries to push us around all the time. Especially when it comes to using old parts versus new released stuff, such as stainless manifold fasteners, intake bolts with black rubbers instead of green rubbers, and so-on. It's always a fight that I could do with out. Another thing they like to do is leave extra quanities on the ticket or parts that were oredered that I did not request. I bring the new part back and they say they are leaving it on the ticket. I say go ahead. It always sorts itself out when the advisor is wondering why the bill is 300 bucks over and beyond.
  9. They really want to use simple green heavy duty which is purple in color. I used some the other day to clean a cac and it worked really well.
  10. Never worked in a cold shop. Now staying warm out in the parking lot is another story. I wish the powers that be would adopt your strategy, Jim. On the really cold days I will wear long johns under my uniform cause you will freeze up solid if you have to get gas before going to work. But they keep the shop like a sweat box and it's brutal. I think they're goal is to burn as much waste oil as possible in one day and then try and beat that the next day.
  11. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I bet you were sweatin bullets on that deal. I know I would have been. My laptop wouldn't fire up a couple of months ago and I thought I was going to lose all my pics. That's nothing compared to what you are dealing with!!!!
  12. That injector was like a frickin' laser beam.
  13. Quote: also is there a trubo bolt spacer not accounted for ( like the 03 style one) if so it may be in the blue hose causing liek issues. Now that is a very interesting statement! I will be in tune with that idea the next time I open a gasket set in a cooler job.
  14. I haven't heard anything but if it comes to it, I would resort to using a very thin hacksaw blade to make the cut the same as the old one so it removes the smallest amount of material possible.
  15. Anytime I cross that bridge it's around 4 am. Any other time sucks. Gonna be crossing it Saturday night on the way back from North Carolina.
  16. Right around $1500 USD with both adapters. Worth every penny in my book. I might be wrong on the price cause we have had ours for a while. A quick phone call will let you know though.
  17. http://www.kienediesel.com/truck_service/ts_frame.html This is the place to get it. Call there 800 number and tell them you work at a Ford dealer on light duty diesels and they will set you up with exactly what you need. The unit we have does F-350 thru 550. There are 2 different adapters that work on the same puller chassis and you will need to get both. These guys are great to work with, they ship fast, the tool is very reasonably priced for what it does. I have sold about 3 of these units for them to local shops.
  18. One thing that absolutely doesn't happen is the guy annoying the poor fellow working on the sicko. I joke around in the shop but not while I am working under a car.
  19. Regarding that vid, the keys and the F-150 dash really hit home.
  20. Quote: Needed a Tyvek suit to work on it.
  21. I also think I have seen this truck, on here actually. I looked thru some old shit but gave up.
  22. Quote: Buddy's the closest, it's got 435,660 miles on it Weeellllll, if we are going by "The Price Is Right" rules, then I would be the winner!
