  1. I forwarded it to you. I am still impressed with this event to say the least
  2. anyone have trouble reprogramming the 6.4 for the "flame delete" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif The IDS will go through the whole process (which is much differnt than the typical programming we are all used to) but once done if you go back into module programming it still says there is an updated calibration for the vehicle. anyone experence this? On another vehicle I also got an error saying the vehicle did not except programming and started over. It was fine the next go around.
  3. I wish I could claim the video but it was passed on to me by mangement here at my dealer. Its the talk of the shop for obvious reasons. I did not get any info with what was wrong with it but from previous issues I have had with these trucks it sounds like a fuel knock from a stuck open injector dumping fuel. I have had one do the very same thing and fill the exhuast with diesel. forgently mine did not go into regen and burn my shop to the ground. I wasent going to post it since I didnt know where it came from but I wanted to share with you guys here. Im sure this will become public very soon however from whoever made it.
  4. no luck with the attachment...I sent you an email however. you should see it shortly.
  5. Anyone seen the video yet? Ive got it in a email, maybe I can send it to keith and he can host it? Its impressive to say the least. I wonder what the reprogram is actually doing? seems this is only a problem with a engine concern. ie excessive fuel or oil in exhaust from injector or turbo etc. Is it preventing the truck from going into regen at idle? I have to say I did see this coming tho. seem tailpipe temps are a little too steep for comfort sitting there doing a regen at idle. *edit to be politically correct*
  6. I heard the 6.4 will be all inclusive to the F-series and thats it. with the drama between international and ford I see a big change in the future. I have been calling the 08s superpukes. they are not growing on me at all, I hate them more and more everytime I look at one. that econoline is a little better but not much, still ugly as sin.
  7. Been slow here too the past couple weeks. We just came of a really busy period and it has seemed to die out. struggling to feed 3 diesel guys here, typical turns into a race to get up to dispatch to get other job before the other guy cause it might be the only one for the day. I do have 2 jobs sitting in my bay waiting for parts which wont be here til monday. oil rail on one and 3 lousy dowlpins and a front cover kit to finish my short block job. gotta love the late model replacement parts in an 04. another dealer replaced the heads a few months back with the updated 06kits and it got the stepped dowls, now I had it for a noise and found #6 hole scored(suspect broken ring) and I have a late model replacement short block that needs the bigger 20mm pins which no one has!! all I have is stepped pins! then I pulled the front cover off to find something had gone through the front cover and gerotor pump so I gotta wait for one of those! frustrating!
  8. yes keith this is now tied to a complete reprogram(PCM,FICM,TCM) It does wonders too! Very impressive. I have had it clear up trucks that will hardly run when cold. I was impressed to say the least
  9. I support guys modding their trucks cause I would do the same thing. however when they expect ford to pay for something they modifyed thats where I draw the line. I like the comment "you play you pay" I mod my vehicles knowing I will have to fix them, thats fine by me since I know how. of course not everyone knows how but again they need to step into the aftermarket world now and find someone that can do it for them.
  10. I am buried in recalls up to my ears. they only take about .5 to do and pay 2.3 for all of them. gravy. now if I could just get parts in stock for them!
  11. hopefully they will pay well, my last one was all mt time. I havent seen any labor ops out there yet.
  12. I hear is supposed to be the same as a 6.0 within about 1/2 mpg due to the regen. kinda hard to tell since its so early, gotta break in that new engine
  13. got it together this morning. not too bad of a job really. jut had to keep checking the book to verify my torque and steps on installing it. I am kinda of leary tho, my fuel trim is still in the negative around 15%. i figured it would take care of it with the new injector. Its seems to run ok and i dont get my contribution code back. the exhuast was full of fuel however, dripping from muffler. i had to run it for about 15minutes to clean it out. crankcase isnt full tho, i have been keeping an eye on it. It passes the fuel system test too. I will cold start again in the morning and call Bob back with my findings. the fire is cool! old hotrod trick. too bad mine dosent blow flames!
  14. he actually called us after we ordered parts. I enjoyed dealing with him. very knowlegable and helpful
  15. only 114 miles, customer drove it for half a day then had a cold start knock and misfire. turns out its a fuel knock with contribution code for cylinder 3. however the miss and knock go away when hot and it drives fine. The short fuel trim for cylinder 3 is -18% while the others are around +/- 5%. I cold started it this morning and all was well for about 5minutes then it started running like crap and having its fuel knock again. powerbalance was all over the board, fuel trims all over the board and FRP when from a normal 5000psi idle to a 3000 erratic reading. I then also got a P0087 FRP circuit low code. I assume from the drop in fuel pressure. I have been talking with Bob Boumann(sp?) from international on this issue. he advised I replace the injector for #3 and go from there. i could also be having a problem with the PVC or VOC. I hope this isnt a sign of things to come. I should have an injector tomorrow, actually we ordered 16 for stock. It comes with a fuel line with the injector so thats a plus. I ripped the right side valve cover off, not too bad. I thought it would be worse. I am not looking forward to the left side tho!
  16. saw our first one friday. It got delivered that night as well. I couldn't believe the sticker. It was a basic crew cab F250 4x4 XLT and it was 48k! that same truck in an 07trim and 6.0 was 44k. Its nice ford is wanting customers to help dig them out of the hole by charging your first born child for a truck! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif
  17. Keith I have replaced long blocks and everything related to the cooling system...heater core, degas bottle, ALL hoses and vatted the radiator to repair these trucks. This is all requested by hot line and prior approval. We have even had inspectors come out for these. I believe we are on about 4 long blocks for sludge that bad. We see about 2-3 a month that are not as bad that we can clean. Seems the 450s and 550s are worse off. must be the weight they are hauling and abuse they go through.
  18. wow, I was told not to work on this and the service manager turned this customer away and told them to go elsewhere! just because its got history at another store. rediculous....we wonder why PSD owners are pissed off! I know I can fix this if even alowed to work on it. I guess on the good side its out of my hair but now the customer is not taken care of. I thought we we supposed to be here for the customer?
  19. wow cant beleive thats a seperate number. Ive stashed several from junk harnesses just in cash
  20. soooo its back! doing the same thing. Im at a loss on where to go here. Ive talked to hotline on a couple occasions and get a differnt response each time.
  21. I get that too, I just calmly tell them thats the smell of money.....
  22. got posted today, signed myself up for the first class avaiable in arizona the end of jan.
  23. Thats how I do it, most of the time you only need to loosen the driverside lower bolt. sometimes you need to do the other side as well but not always. saves the hassle of fighting the pump cover by the y-pipe
