was the injector loose at all? or was it just overfueling? did you check the torque on the other injectors? also where you sure you got all the fuel out from that cylinder? you have another problem there if its still hydrolocking.
you need to find what cylinder is at fault. you might need to remove the glow plugs one at a time and crank the engine over to find it. then go after finding the issue
yeah soo if you can snag a pic. I am sure I will see one sooner or later too. I just saw a truck I know have one out in the lot. its a 6.0 and doesnt start
interesting. however did you repair the issue of why it was getting coked up? idle time? fuel quality? services? short drive cycles? egr cooler leaks? It can be the cleanest in the world but coke back up if the cause isnt found. I can see a customer paying for the service then in 6months having the same issue and trying to sell another service. he wont be too happy to have to pay 500-600bucks to clean in intake every 6months. just make sure you get the root cause fixed first. I have seen trucks with plenty of miles on them with no coking problems what so ever.
To get to the point just make sure you are sure there are no other problems with the truck and the maintance is kept up on.

thats about normal, remember its only testing boost at idle. If I do the same thing manually I get the same result. I still think the best is to roadtest it at wot and monitor mgp.
yeah those are fun. Its nice telling the customer his 300 dollar intake is turning on his check engine light due to incorrect air flow over the maf.
there is a bulletin out there on some good info about the stock filters to help convice customers to stick with stock. It was on pts about 3weeks ago.
yeah the full bulletin is out now. 2.9 is the SLTS time to do the right bank injectors. I have already done injector pre flame recall and it was not all that bad. once you figure out the procedure of course. I was worried that that would be on both banks. at least they made part of the recall a little easier and kept them on the same bank
I like how you need to VIN order the parts. we have a ton of injectors in stock but only one gasket.
I have asked myself this same question but I always come back with the question what would I do to make the same money? IT sucks we get into a way of living relying on that next paycheck and its really hard to go back down the latter.
Not always, usally on trucks that have been worked on somewhere else or a problem keeping an injector tight. if they get over torqued from either a gorilla or oil in the bolt hole etc they will tend to loosen back up. Also take note there are differnt hold downs for different years/builds. using the incorrect one will cause issues as well.
finding free money is nice. I like the points you get for masters and senior masters. I racked up a couple hundreds bucks with that. bought a nice new impact for practically free
yeah that was out last week, I dont see the link to spin yet tho. I assume its not officially open yet.
I made some money last time too. I like that program
Have you taken it back apart to see if it loosened up again? if it hasent find out what is hydrolocking, fuel, oil, etc. Are you sure you got that cup back in correctly?
yeah that 6.0 pump is cake in chassis. I would only pull cabs to do heads or a motor but end up finding is just as quick to do in chassis work compared to lifting a cab.
This is a first for me. Of course the truck was overheating , the customer just had the water pump replaced at another shop but they failed to notice this disaster and still wondered why it was overheating.
anyone else see this sorta thing?
none of the rest of the cooling system seems ok and does not have any of this type of damage. The truck has about 115k on it and was running green coolant that some brilliant person that couldn't read the sticker on the degas bottle put in.
it sure sounds like a turbo burning oil, I have had a couple that dont seem to have oil in the intake or exhuast side but as soon as your rip on the throttle it fogs the street. sounds like you have a stumper there.
how about left over coolant in the exhuast? nothing nasty liquid coming from the tailpipe? did the other tech replace the coolers/gaskets for this problem? or was it a popped egr cooler?
