  1. I wonder who's been sneaking those kits out of their dealership...must have a big lunchbox.
  2. Yeah, and not to mention, most add on/aftermarket warranties are on cars that aren't new, so shit gets rusty and seizes up.
  3. ALL the fuel at Diavik is above ground, and it doesn't freeze at -60F
  4. How soon before they start asking for the fuckin' EGR baffle kit back?
  5. Yes...but look at the one at the bottom of that page....that Oshkosh sumbitch is an 08 and runs the 6.4
  6. Cooooool. I found this by accident, it's in the "PERSONALITY" menu on the IDS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasan_Sand_Cat That's a cool lookin' rig.
  7. I made my own wrenches out of cheapies from Canadian Tire or Princess auto for the fuel pump cover lines.
  8. Yup. You cover my time, or fuckin' find someone else to fix these things.
  9. Wow....looks like flat rate reading. I was talking about the CMP, and Chris was talking about the CKP... My bad!
  10. ^^ Yah, what he said. Mine looked like that too.
  11. Heh Was just makin' sure. Him and my dog was buddies when I was out there.
  12. Keith -- You do know who Kodaman is.....right?
  13. I just went through this. Try cutting the big O-ring off the cam sensor (closest to the connector) and putting it back in. If that allows it to run, check for rust buildup in the CKP bore.
  14. I think perhaps you guys need to find another dealer. I see since you're in Fargo, there may be not too many dealers available in your area. I think there's a good guy, but I think he's closer to Brainerd, and it's a General Motors store, but I think there's some issue with financing at his particular dealer... His name is Jerry Lundegaard. Watch out for these clowns though...
  15. Gotta like it when half the work is already done I haven't had any issues removing rear covers with bedplates. I loosen all the bolts off then put the big scraper that's sharpened on all three sides along the cover to make sure it's sliced. As long as I can see a little titwilly hanging out between the upper and lower crankcase halves, and not 4" of bedplate gasket we're good to roll. I wonder how long before we've got guys pumping that groove in the block full of sealant through the hole? Or how long before it becomes the accepted warranty repair procedure like pooping up the bedplate instead of checking for warpage.
  16. Sold the pump...told customer about my idea. He looks at the new pump and goes... "Well, you best be knockin' that motherfucker (pointing at checkball in new pump) outta there, and putting a pipe plug in it. I ain't worried about warranty -- if it wrecks the pump, that's a risk I'm willin' to take. I'd rather try that and fail, than not try it and end up with the same problem another 4 years down the road." He understands pressure and flow...he's a plumber
  17. Isn't the old style one discontinued, requiring any early motors to have the front cover replaced as well as the water pump should the water pump ever fail?
  18. Little short hose that went from the bottom of the intake right behind the throttle body to the plastic hose that ran under the intake, on mine.
  19. I have seen a run of those converters here lately...last one needed all three of them. Not cheap. We had a lease return that we were trying to send to auction that nobody could figure out... whistling noise, no power, etc, etc. I walked by and said "Sounds like it's got a plugged converter!" and just kept on walking. Sure enough... LOL
  20. Poop? I asked a sales guy here and he told me you can buy a cab and chassis, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to put a service body on it...maybe a CONVENTIONAL service body, it may have to be slighly redesigned for the new body style.
  21. I wouldn't see any reason why not, I guess they are in the business of selling parts. My next nightmare, is trying to get the damn exhaust off at the manifolds....i think I have a better chance of growing a nice luscious set of boobs than those bolts coming out.
  22. I have one here exhibiting low base oil pressure, hard start, no start, stalling, lack of power, etc. Found checkball fell out of HPOP. Why is pump replacement necessary? (As per hotline) Can't I just pull the pump off, tap the hole in the pump and put a pipe plug in it?
  23. And that makes the whole trade look just awesome. I had just finished up putting a couple injectors in a 2006 350, when the kid that owns the truck in the first pictures came in. He looked at the truck I was working on and goes "Oh, haven't got that one apart yet?" I was like "Uhh...no...it's all done." He looked SUPREMELY depressed that his truck had been mangled that bad.
