  1. All you need is the ID number and last name, but your last name is about 337 letters long, isn't it?
  2. Anyone work in Detroit or the surrounding area? I need some tires put on my truck and I am kind of particular about who does it. Same tire here is $353/per. $290 over there. And no, I'm not having fucking REX do it.
  3. Does the truck start with the keyfob in someone's pocket that's nowhere near the truck? I'm wondering if it has nothin' to do with the truck, and maybe for something else the previous customer had? Weird, thats for sure, especially since you can't find anything tied into the wirin anywhere
  4. The hotline engineer that I'm on the phone with right now wants to know "What's so damn funny?"
  5. My wife asked me what was on tv, I replied "Dust!" And that's how the fight started.
  6. I am beginning to see more of I got paid 45 minutes for 10 hours of work. DO NOT CLAIM WITH ANY OTHER LABOR OPERATIONS DO NOT CLAIM OPCODE XX WITH OPCODE YY TSB pays 3 hours. SLTS operation codes pays 6.3. *sigh*
  7. Printed for the cork-board at work
  8. I saw this also. Do you think they are trying to say that the glow plug is a direct ignition point for the fuel? What I mean is the fuel is sprayed directly on the glow plug, is that what they're trying to say? Things is confusin. Good course though, I like how the test wsa broken down into 5 sections
  9. I think his reference was more to "Depends"....
  10. Whatta you guys think about that cooling system! How much juice you think this truck will hold?
  11. IB....dang. In there like sportswear!
  12. I like how the X hours = 1 mile equation changes almost every time I ask about it. Used to be 35 miles, then 33, then 30, now it's 25 = 1 hour.
  13. I have an arrangement tray for my racecar, it's designed to hang on top of a carburetor, but I've since modified it. Has spots for all the pushrods & spark plugs and keeps them in order. The push rods and glow plugs go in that. The injectors go in the Rotunda holding fixture. Typically I wash the rocker bridges in brake cleaner, and number them, on the bottom of the rocker bridge with a sharpie, and keep them on the corresponding side of the truck. That way, I know what order they go in, and the number always goes to the bottom. I like putting stuff back where it came from, but there has always been a time where some shit's gotten mixed up and no ill results come of it. Just don't mix up the intake and exhaust pushrods on a big block Chevy or a 3.1/3.4. Guy I worked beside did intake gaskets on a 3.4 and mixed a couple exhaust pushrods up...it wasn't pretty.
  14. Going today, any Detroit-ers gonna be there? Look for the great big guy with the Powerstroke jacket and cane. Some pictures for you fellows to enjoy. Sorry guys, I ain't Ansel Adams. The batteries were going for a shit in my camera, so the focus isn't great on some of these pictures. The fact that it took me 3 photos to get the DPF/CAT/SCR system in it worries me LOL I quite enjoy the shot of the Transit Connect. It says "Boo Boo" busters, baby proofing service. But of course...I saw Boob.... Apparently this shitheap will go 120mph. I saw it in the basement of the auto show, they were driving it. The guy driving it went around a slight curve at about 5mph and I swear it was pulling tire. Looked unstable as hell. A dually shortbox with a 5th wheel hitch...how wonderful. Should I smash the back of the cab now, or later? Eh...it's just a Dodge anyhow.
  15. *sigh* In the middle of re-assembling a 6.0 bottom end after a reseal. "Can you come talk to this customer" Get back, finish torquing the bedplate bolts down, look down and the front of the engine has only one tit-willy hanging out between the upper and lower crankcase halves.... There's the other side of the bedplate gasket set sitting on my toolcart. ARRRRRRRRRRGH. At least I caught it when I did.
  16. General Motors now has a similar program. Before ANY diesel repairs are made, the TECH II must be hooked up and data pulled out of a certain module address and sent to "the big house" to be analyzed before any warranty repairs are authorized. I think my GM buddy said it pays something like .2 or something, and he said it takes about 40 minutes to get what you need, and then another hour and a half to get approval. From what I understand, most techs are able to see where the modified data is, as their TSB shows you what the stock programming looks like, and what the modified programming looks like. I can't locate the TSB offhand, but I will get it and paste it here. I am not 100% certain either, if this is just with trucks that currently have the programming installed, or trucks that HAVE been flashed, or whatever.
  17. Hey, that ain't me! LOL I was going to post up a picture of Rodney King....
  18. That IS my IDS LOL Also, the fellers that were cruising in this machine were down this way from Guelph, they were pheasant hunting, so I'm not sure where the guns were being kept.
