  1. Have you guys seen the quality of these "factory installed" remotes? There's a topic on Inford right now. Several GCR's submitted from my workstation. Wiring slashed all to hell, hood switches not installed, etc, etc.
  2. From what I've experienced, they don't get very warm at all. Timing, I can't remember offhand. i have one at work right now I will check it tomorrow.
  3. Pickup cracked/leaking? Jam a few extra quarts in 'er and jack the ass end of the truck up in the air and see if that fixes 'er.
  4. TA-16 on the bedplate sealing surfaces and gaskets. Take your time and make sure everything is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. There was a topic on here awhile back about claiming them, and the opcodes required.
  5. Truck in my bay, down on water, lots of white smoke, smells like antifreeze -- did some prelim. diag couldn't find anything. Pulled EBP sensor nothin pulled EGRT nothin. I pulled the coolers off on the advise of the hotline -- no dampness in the coolers. They don't leak in the dunk tank. Any ideas?
  6. 2614 / 2617 can be set during long crank or stalling, also
  7. I forgot the harness deal in econo's.... Yeah. Yank that sumbitch till it quits.
  8. Because it is the best place to think, un-disturbed.
  9. Got one right now. Resealed the cam & crank sensors last time it was in, leak is back, but at the back -- starts about 2" in front of where the starter ends, almost between the compressor and the starter, so it almost sounds like the exact same place. Never had the covers off, according to warranty history.
  10. I just dealt with this.... and it was kind of a pain in the ass to diagnose. Look behind the cam sensor for rust buildup. That's all I can offer right now...my particular unit had rust buildup in the cam sensor bore that was causing this, also with no codes. It's an Econo, right? FWIW, and the amount of time it takes on an E-series, I'd pop the HPOP cover off and have a peek at the STC fitting, just out of curiosity.
  11. Which is especially bad in my area: KEN KNAPP FORD JOE MELOCHE FORD LARRY RENAUD FORD ROSE CITY FORD PERFORMANCE FORD VICTORY FORD SALES SOUTHPOINT (LALLY) FORD LALLY FORD All within about 40 minutes of each other, maybe except for Lally or victory, it's probably about an hour out. How would you feel if you called all of those stores and got a different price on the same part. Hmmm....i smell an experiment in the works.
  12. Shop I used to work at would bump all shop parts sale prices to list+10. So if a customer bought his pats at the parts counter and they charged him list, he'd save 10%. Walk to the service counter and hand the advisor the parts for me to put on the car.
  13. We have Alist and Blist or something like that....there's COST down at the bottom, and about 7-8 steps up to Alist whtchi is the highest price level.
  14. Thanks man! Got 'er comin' down the wire as we speak. Should have it by wednesday.
  15. You wanna buy my longblock? 427 cubic inch small block chevy, Dart Little M block, 13.6:1 compression, Airflow Research 235CC heads, all Lunati bottom end with Wiseco pistons and a camshaft innovations custom solid roller cam, T&D Shaftmount rocker arms. It's got a super victor CNC ported by Airflow research with a 1050 Holley Dominator carb up top. Preliminary figuring puts it between 750-800hp on the motor...and I have a fogger to install later. Should be good to about 8500 or so before you need to shift it
  16. We'll get you used parts at our dealership and at a couple other stores I've worked at.(Apparently so will Brad's store, HA! ) but you own it, including the labor to put it on, whether it's any good or not. I am relatively hesistant to install auto wrecker parts, however. I had a 5.4 3v we got from an auto wrecker that had been on fire, so I refused it. The second one they brought, they wanted all the intake coils etc off the old motor back so they could put it on the burned up motor and sell it to someone else. Niiiice.
  17. Can email to me big_angry_hillbilly at yahoo dot ca Thanks!
  18. I'd have told the customer the price at $999. I'm not going to get too carried away on the parts room at my store....right now that is....
  19. No, you're right on the raised cam location. I believe all the "truck" motors were 4-bolt main. Like you said...memory is kinda fuzzy -- Intakes are different, distributor is different, I believe the water pump is different too. It's funny though, most of the aftermarket guys are using 10.200 blocks. Bruce - I think you should build yourself a factory appearing motor. Alum headed 435hp/427 appearing with 3 2's on it...yet the bottom end, she's 540 cubic inches, with air flow research 357CC magnum heads, and a full rollerized valvetrain. Or a ZL1 motor....aluminum everything
  20. Well at least the filter was in there. It's the thought that counts, isn't it? How's the MAF look? Sandy, I bet?
  21. NINE HUNDRED THIRTY TWO CUBIC INCHES. That's like 15 litres for those keepin count.
