  2. I have a 96 f-250 come in today that doesnt crank long at all.The customer said he put 2 new batteries in it but it didnt help. You can crank this thing for literally 5 seconds and the batteries just drain and barely cranks.Now while playing with it the starter acted up and i had to hit it with the old hammer and it started cranking again. Could a bad starter be taking that much of a draw????
  3. Im glad you started this topic.... I have a guy that i put 2 on for in the last month... Today my service writer calls me in today and says we have a problem. He says that he was on his way through wisconsin towing a race car and it blew off again in the middle of no where.Now the last one i put on i got 2 new clamps and the new boot, brake cleaned the hell out of everything, and tightened the ever living snot out of the clamps. The owner said the clamps are still there on the tube and the CAC and that it actually blew the middle section of the boot apart!!!!Blew it right in 2 pieces. What the hell are we supposed to tell customers???
  4. everytime fuel pressure regulator unless compresion in fuel system, even then usually they still get a regulator
  5. Had an extra cmp tossed it in seems to have fixed it thanks bruce also truck has a slight miss but pass koer cylinder contribution. no other codes

I have a 95 f-450 rollback that came in with the complaint of stalls every once in a while when he hits around 2,000 rpm then wont start back up but if you let it sit for about 5 minutes it will.Ran self test had P0340 P0344 and P1212 non continous.Cleared codes and drove around parking lot for a bit. Then i said screw it and decided to road test it, if it dies, it dies. I had NGS with me and watching pids RPM,ICP,IPR and DTC count. I dont get alot of 7.3 so i was unsure of normal values but while driving the highest the IPR went was 33% around WOT and lowest was 7% when decel.At idle IPR was around 12% to 14% and icp was around 570-630 psi. I had an RPM signal so CMP was doing its job. So im driving down the road and all of a sudden it dies. Pulled over and watching pids while trying to crank ICP was at 0,IPR 14% did not change at all while cranking, and 0 RPM on NGS and RPM tach did not move either.I let it sit for about 5 minutes and boom started right up with codes P0340 and P1212 in memory. Any help appreciated!

  8. I have a 04 f-250 with an oil cooler failure.oil filled the whole cooling system.I see the tsb for the cleaning procedure.Are you guys following this step by step?
  9. just made my second mistake and forgot to put the select shift lever manual feed tube in before pressing the variators into the case and putting the variator nuts on. now has to come back apart. The book doesnt help either doesnt tell you anything about making sure you put it on first or ven tell you to put it on first found this out hard way and trust me tried everything in my power to try and snake it around to get in but no luck if anyone has actually been able to do it let me know.

Had to take a cvt apart just to see if i could find anything wrong with it.I didnt even diag this thing we were dead and my service manager was just like see if you could find anything.Anyway im putting it back together and im at the step of pressing the case back on the variators.Im following right by the book and not sure if im getting the secondary variator pressed on all the way.Im not seeing threads filling up the window of the special tool.They only fill about halfway then i run out of threads on the forcing bolt.Any help or suggestions appreciated....
  11. Yea im aware but now they are questioning why we got a complete engine when valves were toasted on the left head and turbo was filled with fuel/oil
  12. The engine failed and we got a complete engine for it by decision of service manager now they are fighting the claim
  13. I had a 6.4l that ingested a bunch of fuel/oil.Could this cause damage to the turbo???Wondering if i should replace?
  14. Got an 01 f-250 runs rough all the time.Got p1316 continous and p1277.P1316 led me to ppt fj9.Which tells you to run self test and see if any other codes are stored. If yes tells you to go to appropiate ppt test for that dtc.So i went to ppt for p1277 which is NA11.Followed NA11 measuring high and low side resistances for that injector circuit which is 7 from the glow plug connector to the idm connector.Resistance was in spec. Could this be a possible Valve cover gasket issue?
  15. This happens especially since its a 6.0 and god knows how many times the oil rail has been off.Way more than IH or Ford ever planned.Happy Easter!

I was sitting in on a meeting yesterday with a guy named Marvin from ford.The meeting was because our service department coding warranty repairs wrong but i just had to ask about the 6.7l.He said that they already have several with over a million miles on them! I was like what!He said that Ford is really excited about having there own diesel and we should be seeing it very soon.Just thought id throw that out there...
