  1. Have seen a few of those situations, all have led to complete fuel systems from some sort of contamination either def or metal.
  2. Have seen quite a few with valves sucked up into the head causing weird misses and driveability issues. But 85% of them that are at that point also have burnt cylinder walls as well. On a couple of them just the head did replacement did repair it but if one head is gone the other usually isn't far behind. As far as I have seen so far its is most often cyl 4 and cyl 8 that the intake valves pull into the head. hotline had said that the new heads have redesigned valve guides and different valves.
  3. Have had a few lately with dirty maf sensors acting just like a plugged exhaust causing no - little boost as well as plugged/damaged converter may be causing it and high ebp will cause lack of boost.
  4. Had a 2015 f550 come in with p259f. Shop Foreman typed it into good old oasis got tsb 15-0077 ordered all the parts as the tsb came up on it. I got the truck this morning brought it in, tore it down to the turbo and turbo looked a bit different but I knew there were some change up parts. Took turbo out nothing fits as far as oil lines go. Note - truck has a sct livewire programmer and dpf/def delete. Contacted hotline and got the old 3 different hotline responses from different people. On fourth reply back the hotline guy told me p259f does not exist on 2015 f550 cab and chassi trucks only pickups hence the tsb. On the tsb did not state does not apply to cab and chassis, pced does not state code does not apply to cab and chassis, but of course the 4th hotline guy wrote that in even though the question was asked twice before in the hotline contacts. Long story short the sct programmer is trying to boost truck as if it was pickup not cab and chassis causing the code to come up as it has programming in it from a 2014 f550 or regular pick up. So just info p259f should not come up in a 2015 cab and chassis unit.
  5. For all of you here that had the pleasure of knowing Grampy Jim and his quick witted banter he lost his fight with cancer today. He had a long hard battle but it got the best of him.
  6. turns out the turbo is leaking into system and intake is full of oil as well. get to change the turbo and clean the intakes out. JOY. I should fly Grampy jim out here to do it. I'll even supply him with all the whisky he can drink until the job is done.
  7. can you get at everything from the back side? looks pretty tight.
  8. I know its not a Ford diesel and not very happy about having to do it, but any one have any tips on an egr valve on this thing? Its an ambulance as well so it makes it even more awesome. I know it needs the egr valve but just looking at this engineering marvel of shoving stuff into a small hole and the amount of crap bolted to the dog house not to sure as to how to start the attack on it and if i even need to remove the dog house for any real reason.
  9. Yeah I just saw the pictures this morning Jimbo. Too busy enjoying the warm weather here in B.C. lol. There was a video on facebook of some guy walking down the track and showing missing bolts, loose bolts damaged track and misaligned tracks all before the derailment happened. I think it was from last fall and I know they hadn't worked on the track since last year so not to sure if this was before they had done and repairs or after. Just a good thing it wasn't worse or it wasn't any of the oil cars that are always going through town.
  10. I usually use glow plug r&r plus .5 mt for the compression tests.
  11. My first "FACTORY" remote start I dealt with the module was taped to the under dash harness. The hood switch was taped to the module and the excess of wires was incredidble. all the splices were made correctly with scotch locks and tape, no solder. I must say quality is definately #1. And try getting paid by ford to repair that mess.
  12. in the past we have just cut the racks off and welded them back on if the rack isn't all pretty looking to start with. we've always asked the customer first and never had an issue.
  13. If you want to see more crazy rig pictures go to facebook and join the super star drivers of the oil patch group. thousands of stupid moves in there.
  14. As a service amanger this job would have gone out the door as is with crappy old parts in.. there is no way in hell My shop's reputation would be hung out to dry because an insurace company wants to be cheap. In the warranty policy manual you are technically supposed to report any retail part that is put in to void any further warranty on those parts. Had a fleet truck come in with approx 10000 km had a but load of water go through the 6.4l fuel system cost 12000 to replace absolutely everything in it and ford told me that this truck basically no longer has engine warranty. This fleet buys hundreds of trucks a year, and let me tell you they are having one hell of a legal battle over this one. so in theory if you replaced an alternator retail for some strange reason basically the charging system warranty is done.
  15. AHHH... sad but I had to get grampy jim to show me how to post photos...I feel shame
  16. Dwayne had one a while back that kept having low base oil pressure. it was a early 04 as well I think, but the issue with that was there was carbon chunks the size of pancakes floating around in the oil pan. Weirdest thing I have ever seen. Cleaned out the pan and rechecked under the oil cooler for the screen and it was ripped apart from all the carbon going throug it. There are some pics somewhere on the photopost of these pancakes. Ended up replacing the pump and cover as well as cleaning the pan out and fixed the issue.
  17. finally got approval on this thing to put a complet turbo to pan engine in. All I gotta say is ouch for a price tag.
  18. we've had quite a few here that when you go to the screen to get the calibration number they want it shows no calibration number. for says impossible so we sent the printout showing it and they still denied the claims based off no calibrtion number given. so now if there is none gets #3 on the list
  19. According to the folks from international ford is actually extremely good for keeping track of what goes where and which injectors go in each hole. As soon as a claim is through and PAID by ford motor company the info is sent to interantional to track the injectors. But if the claim is denied of retail too bad so sad there is no way to know what went where.

    6.0 water pump

That 3c3z 6608 b was a complete with water pump. The truck was an early build 04 350. just went though the work order and tech stated was a comlete kit with all parts to go from small water pump and cover to larger one, the wierd part is that hotline gave us that part number when we called them. this was back in december.

  23. So Mekanik, oh I mean Lance. did you ever get yuor problem fixed. hehehe..., looks like rex is kinda confused about the situation.
  24.
