  1. I don't get it either. One theory I have is the disconnect that upper management at these places have with common sense. They just plain don't understand that it is their staffs lack of maintenance at fault. Most think that its just poor product. The other issue is lack of available employees.
  2. This is the 2nd dpf on this unit. Also they are a large co-op, "fleet". Multiple trucks with "drive to clean" check engine lights on. They just keep using them till they stop. Cant get them to do the man regen. I guess that's job security for me.
  3. Some fun numbers here. 2012 f-550 6.7 tire repair service truck. total engine hours 4,526 idle hours 3,195 Shocker --DPF issues
  4. I use a Mac tools MT6340 It has a volt meter function so you can adjust the amp output to get the voltage in the correct range.
  5. Nice I like the large tile and glass door.
  6. Had a super duty last week. No hub engagement. When I turned the hub(turned very hard) It had a foamy substance that come right out of the "Ford" name on the hub
  7. What are you using to degrease engines? Today I am resealing an oil pan on a 2016 6.7 180,000 miles. Oil everywhere mixed with gravel thick covering all over. Been leaking over a year. We used a zep chemical way back that worked great. But they changed it and doesn't work that good. I put a Texas refinery soap, TRC super big red in a pump sprayer it works sort of, but wont cut through oil very good. Brake cleaner in a can works but not on large areas.
  8. We just did a warranty replacement on a 7.3 starter I put in maybe 7-8 months ago.
  9. Just had one like this. 2012 F-350 pickup. So the tsb technically does not apply. Exhaust fluid system fault-engine idled, on message cluster. No codes. Did tsb 14-0192 cleared out message fine.
  10. reference this past post sounds similar. -go back 3 pages on old posts- look for 6.4 starts runs stalls By batmantech, April 14, 2015
  11. I started unplugging each of the bank 2 injectors one at a time. With #2 unplugged it ran fine (except for the #2 miss) when others were unplugged it began to bank miss right away. So I replace #2 injector. Couple test drives so far working fine. During the diag. process I was hesitant to unplug an injector for fear of damaging pcm. I guess it doesn't matter. Thanks for the input.
  12. I filled a Styrofoam cup with a fuel sample before I left last night. This morning its half gone melted, little gas in it? Its the leap that's difficult. Its hard for a customer-myself- to understand that they need 8 injectors when it starts and idles fine. One would think that this system would be able to determine if a certain #injector is starting the concern I will be trying the unplug an injector tip Thanks
  13. This one starts, runs, idles fine. When you go to accelerate starts to miss, or if power brake it. It begins missing on all on bank 2 (#3,2,5,8) P1 p1292 P2 All injector resistances are 181-183 k ohms yes P3 yes P4 yes P5yes P6 no P7 yes P8 yes. I checked circuits at the PCM, not shorted to power , ground, or each other. P9 not contaminated fuel but customer had filter and water issues this winter. The fuel has no def or gas in it but is very yellow color. Usually we don't see that. Did power balance Every time #5 is the first injector to miss then that bank shuts down very quickly. (2,3,5,8) Asked hotline: Assuming that the #5 injector resistance shorts when its running , then shuts down the bank so I replaced #5 still Have same concern. The ppt states replace injector as necessary. What exactly does that mean? (Previously the ppt stated to replace all 8 injectors as referenced in past reports) Is there any way to narrow this down to a single injector? Comment From: Ford Comment Date: May-13-2019 13:52:15 Gary, What the pinpoint test procedure describes you have already performed in replacing the fuel injector identified of being a concern. If you have been able to verify this vehicle does not have any aftermarket accessories or modifications installed that could be a contributing factor to this concern and the fault can be replicated as described, refer to PCED section 5 and perform the diagnostics outlined in pinpoint test ‘O’. This test procedure outlined to assess for Synchronization concerns between the CMP and CKP sensor signal inputs to the PCM. If a concern with these inputs are being detected, this may very well be the reason for the misfire condition occurring after the vehicle seems to start without a concern initially being present. Asked hotline again Comment From: DEALER Comment Date: May-14-2019 15:50:23 You recommended preforming PPT O that is for water in fuel PPT 01 unable to duplicate. I think you meant PPT D (ckp) did D1-D10 unable to duplicate. Monitored sync pid during miss always is yes. Cleared all codes, starts idles fine. When power brake or accel to drive it starts missing. All on bank 2 cylinders #3,2,5,8. record power balance #5 still misses first (that's the new injector), sometimes 5,8 are the very first then all others right away. Only code to reset is P1292. Looking for guidance on where to proceed. Thanks. Comment From: Ford Comment Date: May-15-2019 12:05:42 Gary, Thank you for the updated information. Note that DTC P1292 can be caused by DEF contamination of the high pressure fuel system. To address this issue we will need to revisit fuel testing. Remove a sample of fuel as well as the lower fuel filter. Allow these samples to sit out for at least 2 hours. If DEF crystals are found then the high pressure fuel system will need to be replaced per GSB g0000160. If no concerns are found then, referring to pin point test step P9 for DTCs P1291 and P1292 all 8 injectors and fuel return lines should be replaced. The direction for replacing an injector as needed relates to other DTCs. Sorry for the long list but I felt like it needed the info here. Does anyone have any experience with this P1292 or the bank miss concern? Any response is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  14. Its 4WABS. Since tightening the pin fit it has been working ok
  15. I checked pin fit. Some did have a better fit than others. So I tightened the fit reinstalled everything. Then drove 2 times so far it's working.
  16. 2001 f-250 6.8 126,000 miles. ABS light would flicker on and off finally stayed on. Unable to communicate with module. Powers and ground to module ok. Loaded all wires. Installed used module clear codes fine , ran datalogger, test drive-- after driving light flicker on off then stayed on. unable to communicate with ABS again. Unhook connectors reconnect original module now I can communicate ok. I thought it had to be how I was moving the wires to connect it but all seem fine. Anyone have any experience with this type of situation?
  17. You are correct! Concern overheat no cabin heat.
  18. Can you name that part and the customer concern?
  19. Less people buying diesel trucks around here. Doing DEF repairs and oil leaks. Now that the site works better I find myself here more often.
  20. With the help of Ford hotline I was able to fix this concern. Verified that the network was commanding the radio and cluster off during and after cranking. It should only be during cranking. Then checked ignition switch crank circuit, switch operating ok but still had power on circuit. Checked starter relay ok. Found the Otis diode had failed allowing current out on the circuit. So the PCM strategies make this difficult to figure out. If this had been an older truck (where you have to hold the key in crank position) I suspect the starter would have kept cranking even after starting. That would have been much simpler to diag.
  21. Active commanded rpm with ids, as soon as command 1200 rpm, cluster and radio come on. MAF, radio acm, hvac mod. brake controller mod.all unhooked same concern. reconnect radio unplugged cluster after running command rpm 1200 radio comes on.
  22. 2009 f-450 150,000 miles Has cooler delete and exhaust filter delete. KOEO cluster and radio ok. Start up KOER cluster and radio blank until push accel. pedal down. Then cluster and radio come on. Did network live test ok. Verified the AccDly in datalogger is active when working and inactive when not. Power to radio from accessory delay relay follows concern replaced the relay and replaced the SJB. I now have a code P0102 swapped out sensor same concern checking that now. Truck had other very intermittent concerns of not getting out of park unable to duplicate those. Anyone have experience with anything similar?
