  1. 98 contour no start 89 bronco 2 stuck in 4 low .....Good times......oh yeah...
  2. So do you think he actually generates income from these videos?
  3. #4 is out of round, visible scoring in cylinder walls of a few holes.
  4. Tyler question for you. Referring to your post about the 5.0 Quote " 2012 F150 5.0 came in for a leaking water pump, couldn't help but notice the shake at idle, check engine light and P0304. needs a cyl head" What did you find wrong with the head?
  5. You will find on a ranger/explorer that they come out o.k. After you get the intake out of the way the top trans bolts can be reached from there. Most everything else can be stripped of and positioned out of the way. The old 3.0 was my favorite.
  6. Just resealed a oil pan leak on a 2015 with a 2.7. I really dislike getting all that silicone of of the plastic pan and the block. I got a real good look at those drain back valves in the pan that make you wait 15 minutes to check oil level. They are a little rubber flapper over a hole.
  7. Got a 12 150 with 43,000 Concern was when in gear just coming off the brake the truck would surge or jerk forward. Miss on power balance has #4 down -20 and #6,7 -10. Relative comp #4 down 4% 2 down 2% compression down in those holes 4 90 psi 6,7 125 others 140. Cylinder leakage #1 15% #4 80% 6,7 60% and 40% #5 50%. All blowing out the crankcase. Just thought a would ask, what you guys have been seeing on the 5.0? I have heard of some issues, nothing on hotline past reports. I hate to go in after the cylinder/ring/piston issue without knowing about other possible issues. Any feedback would be great.
  8. Do not feel bad at all. Be proud you diagnosed and fixed it. :cheers-jeers: Look how much you learned ,good knowledge that you will use again. Plus it makes the beer taste better.
  9. Morris, Not to side track but... How did the refusal from Ford process go? How did they know it had dirt ingestion?
  10. Verify that the MAP hose is ok and connected to the intake port. No exhaust leaks? CAC tubes on not torn?
  11. Got my class action letter yesterday. There is a customer here right now holding the letter. Had a few this week already. One guy scheduled his to get the plugs replaced just because of it.
  12. Nice find Matt!! Thank you for all the information you post up here.
  13. 92 Taurus no A/C cooling. It still has r-12. No rust. Super rare front buckets and a floor shifter. wow
  14. The ford message board has a small topic on this going now. It is topic "PTU black fluid". Look like the guys are drilling and installing a drain plug.... I guess there are pictures on ford technician facebook page.
  15. Good luck to you! I know you will do well. We will all miss your input here. Enjoy your time with the kids!
  16. This sounds familiar, check out this post. 2005 450 no start warm. started aug. 12 Is it gurgling though the oil filter?
  17. Mecgen is right. If the shop is set up you will be fine. It seems as though techs in general are very difficult to find. That should bring your value up. I would visit the shop talk to the other 2 diesel techs they and the service manager will be your key to this working. Talk to each on separately, see how busy they really are. That will determine if they are going to work with you. I would go for a min. base pay at least at first. If they really need someone they will roll out the red carpet for you. Also remember you need to do this for yourself. If it is the move you have wanted then go for it. Life is short. No regrets. No I wish I would have done that. It seems like you are in the driver seat and that is a very good thing.
  18. I have the lisle tool and it works. Not the perfect solution but ok in the right spot. It slides off easily so you have to be carful.
  19. I replaced an end on a shuttle bus. It was a fitting on the underside additional condenser. We were able to get the portable crimper from the local NAPA. Leaving it in place was a huge time saver. If you are able to locate a fitting and the hose is long enough that is the way to go.
  20. P0620 and P0625 this one had yellow cdc09 wire broken. That goes from generator to pcm. Of course the wire was open inside the plastic tube channel that goes down under from rh lower engine up and back up the lh side.
  21. Had one awhile back it had one collapsed lash adjuster.
  22. I gotta say,why not just put a new unison ring in the turbo and grind the rust off until it moves freely.
  23. Put on a new high pressure pump. Air check again now quiet no gurgling. put it all back together works great. (I did put in the 2 injectors also.) Thanks for the assistance.
