  1. i can't even remember where i stumbled upon that show but one of the cable channels here used to air it. i loved it. esp gabrielle miller, she's a fucking babe
  2. yeah further diag = mpwr pulled up on the screen showing 39.0v while running
  3. we have MOC products here and i guess service has been under some pressure to sell some of these 6.0 kits. had one in today for some maintenance and my manager upsold a kit without my knowledge. i'd seen it demo'd but never ran one cust pay. i see no value in it like everyone else but i inadvertently stumbled upon another problem...... how do you tell a customer, oh i was in clearing EGR codes from the service you wasted your money on and by the way you have a P0611 and further diag shows your ficm is on it's way out.
  4. the percentage of people modifying trucks vs the amount of trucks out there has to be nearly insignificant. in PA a visual inspection of emissions components is required for state safety inspection but honestly no one reviews with us what the emissions components look like on different light duty diesel trucks. i couldn't tell you what a cummins or duramax has as far as emissions goes(i guess it's my job to do independent research on the subject). same goes for guys who don't do powerstrokes. yeah the egr is there but did your inspector notice the cooler was gone, doubt it? no one seems to care around here
  5. happy wiped direct clutch bearing in a 4f27 day. wish you all a merry cost cap analysis
  6. nascar what? theres a hockey game on nbc and the heritage classic on verses later this evening
  7. well i probably have the least diesel experience of anyone on this site so i appreciate any help i can get. thanks
  8. ford is implying you have to be smart to use it
  9. i haven't figured it out yet. seems like theres always one
  10. i have that same mac serp belt tool. it works but if the 1/2" drive bit was 1/2" longer it would work perfect now that i made a couple i'll never fucking have to take another 6.0 belt off again. either way one stays in the truck all the time now
  11. my finger still has a hard thin scab on it. every once in a while i can feel pain deep in it, but if i touch it nothing.
  12. anyone breaking washer nozzles? seems like if you look at these things the wrong way they fall apart. maybe it's just me
  13. yes, seen it a couple times on early 08 trucks. replacing the oil pump housing fixed them. warranty had no problem paying for it but like you said I'd be unsure about the engine hours
  14. https://www.powerstrokediesel.com/docs/Injector%20Comparison.pdf there is the reman 6.0 injector pdf. right on page 2 it shows the entire coil/wires/connector being replaced on every injector
  15. every core returned to parts gets inspected for a good donor connector, I highly doubt they'll be missed. when i get enough saved up i'll stop harvesting them also helping things out is the fact that they disassemble very easily like a normal ford connector
  16. for the updated valvecover you were supposed to pull the front pcv grommet and check for a small hole drilled in the baffle. if it had a hole you should update the valvecover. all the ones i have checked never needed a cover. as for the issue at hand i've never heard of it and never saw any with excess oil in the intake. i'd be thinking more along the lines of valve seals
  17. wonder how the EPA/carb feels about the various aftermarket EGR coolers that are out there. would something like that be a better option or just as illegal?
  18. yeah i know. i would have never pulled the tranny if i thought it was the headgasket. at the rate it leaked there should have been no doubt where it was coming from yet i saw nothing in the area of the gasket. i could not get it to leak when it wasn't running though. i don't know for sure what fixed it but the engine isn't leaking now.
  19. well i caught my first one on it's way out. had a 350 in today that needs an injector. thinking about this thread i took a look up at it from the bottom and sure enough. i'm not an advocate of upselling warranty but this is an oil field guy that drives down to ky every weekend.
  20. definitely put an oil cooler and updated screen in it at the same time
  21. i have one. it looks like a good idea but it doesn't do anything spectacular. definitely not necessary or time saving. i've never tried to pull turbos cab on so maybe that's why i don't see anything great
  22. yeah. i would have never guessed they were in there. tank looked fairly clean but those filters were PACKED with shit, definitely the cause of the restriction. took me down to 3 inHg at idle. thanks again everyone
  23. kind of an old post but i have my first 7.3 with an inlet restriction. its an 02 and it's sucking 12inHg at idle and probably a lot more under load. so these filters in the tank can usually be cleaned?
